    Those concrete support beams should help protect the Pier during a hurricane.I noticed the water had a nice clearer aqua color on the coast but turned more blue further out.

      It did. I think the depth has something to do with the color.

    Loved naga head NC, used to come here back in the 60's and up to mid 70's with my parents. $2 dollars just to walk on the pier WOW. Still free here at garden City Pier. SC thanks for the video.

      I love the Garden City pier for the same reason. They have always kept it free.👍

    Nags head is a nice place. Full of mystery and rich in history. There are many surprises waiting for those who search.

      Definitely. Taking the time to do a deep dive into the outer banks history would be well worth the endeavor 👍

    Whalebone Junction got its name from that first old gas station. The owner had that big whalebone up on the sign

    Nags Head, NC, is a nice, interesting place as is the entire Jennette Pier complex. According to legend, Nags Head, NC was so named because unscrupulous shipwreckers tied lanterns to the necks of ponies (“nags”) and marched them along the high dunes to simulate the lights of boats at anchor....a ruse that tricked and caused countless ship captains to erroneously run their ships aground into the shoals, where their cargo was then seized by waiting hiding thieves.

    • @TimothyFrench
      @TimothyFrench  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There were bounties to be had after each wreck, that’s for sure 👍
