I like to think of it like the suburban guy in Stargate who saw a good portion of the series go down through the communication stone. The guy woke his wife up in the middle of the night crying when Daniel Jackson died, and since she thought the SG-1 team were just her husband's delusions she got him admitted to psychiatric care. While Jack O'Neill saw the dudes suburban life through the stone and just thought he was daydreaming about having a boring normal life. Imagine that sort of link, but the guy's a bard and travels the land singing the praises of a group of adventurers he can rarely ever catch up with.
My paladin is actually doing this exact thing. My DM okayed me singing these to help the players get engaged and fill into their characters. also just fun since they always like my singing voice
I have a sister who passed away a few years ago. She is far away from me now and yet at the same time I keep her close listening to the songs she loved. It's my thread of fate that keeps me connected to her. I know if she was still here I would have made her sit down and watch all the episodes of The Legend of Vox Machina with me and that she would have loved this song. This. Sir. My heart both weeps and sings with how this perfectly embodies the twins especially obviously vax. Vax is my favorite from the first campaign and when that final episode after the battle and saying good bye truly broke me and this song brings up all of these contrasting emotions.
