The Bounty 1984. This movie was fantastic. I absolutely loved every scene. Film industry won't ever be as good as in previous decades, as for example the 80's. It makes me want to cry 😢😰😥 this amazing soundtrack by Vangelis melted my heart. It's a masterpiece of music.
@@sillyone52062 She's at a dock in Bangkok bay now, in Thailand. Someone photographed her there recently and she was located on google maps. Very poor condition, unfortunately.
This film was an immersive experience. No Oscar nominations and no accolades. An underrated film with two great actors and Vangelis' music deserves to be among the best in the history of cinema
Everytime I hear this, I long to find an island like Pitcairn to leave my current environment of corrupt society and just live in peace ... Maybe Norfolk Island someday.
This music really describes my feeling toward life..a beautiful orchestra of experiences...good..mostly bad..but ultimately life as you grow older is about loneliness and underlying sorrow..
I am speechless of this masterpiece. I don't have words to describe the impact of this music on me. Somehow this music travels me to different places far away from where I am.

Vangelis composed vibrant and emotional masterpieces. I wonder; will there be a musical genius capable of composing a tribute to Vangelis? Vangelis is gone. Sadness invades my heart and soul. His music, which I have treasured since my youth, is the only consolation I have left. His work will forever be part of human consciousness and will travel to eternity through the talents and achievements of mankind. Glory to Vangelis! A genius of our time.
2019? Love this movie saw in the theater yrs ago. Mel Gibson Anthony Hopkins Liam Neeson. Great actors then n still. This soundtrack is incredible. Enjoy.

Fascinating how much material was never used for “The Bounty.” Then again, that project was a long, convoluted affair. Miraculously, we got a good movie and a great soundtrack.
It is a great movie indeed - music of course is also great, but seems there is much controversy surrounding the original compositions, did Vangelis ever release an official version ? and if not, do you have any idea why ? just asking as you seem to have been involved on the production of the film ;)
vangelis is maybe the only composer in the whole history that his compositions go from very good to masterpieces, is incredible how he mantains the quality of his music through space time (nocturne his last composition is very good )
+Skedaren i complety agree with you cause the artists are getting old or dying this is realy shame ' lady gaga and all that stuff can't be calling music
The Bounty was one of my favourite films of all time. It was introduced to me by my late father. Anthony Hopkins was amazing as Lt William Bligh and Mel Gibson and Liam Neeson et al were fantastic too! Reading the true story of how he and his shipmates aboard the Bounty's launch were able to navigate to Kupang from Tofua was extremely stimulating, and shows that we as a species are capable of anything if we put our minds to it. Love this music and this movie and the history of Bligh and Fletcher Christian, and it was very sad what happened between them as friends. I love this film!!
Well said. Interesting that in the context of the movie one can easily see what happened from the point of view of Christian and Bligh. It was a crazy situation. The supporting cast were excellent, too. Like you said, Neeson. Also, Bernard Hill, Neil Morrisey (behaving badly!) Phil Davis. Not to mention the performances from the Tahitians.
How can anyone dislike this Masterpiece by one of the greatest modern day composers. Your unlikely to see the likes of guys like this many times in a lifetime. If you cant appreciate composers like this , I feel sorry for you. You've probably clogged your heads up with too much crap . Maybe " knees up mother brown" is more your taste
Bligh's devotion to the Royal Navy and his wife in this version was incredible. Nobody in England need know if he indulged in the pleasures of Tahiti, but his honor did not allow him to do so. His temper was what caused the mutiny....and this is an excellent telling of the tale.
sillyone52062 What makes this the best version of Mutiny on the Bounty, IMHO, is that it portrays Bligh as three-dimensional. He had his faults, but there was a good side to him too.
It was released, but a couple of thousand or so, don’t know the exact amount, probs cost you about a hundred pounds now, I still look for a sale on eBay, I bought a pirate copy of this album about ten years ago, it cost me twenty four pounds and I still play it now.
OMG! For years after I first saw the movie, I searched and searched for the album. (Yeah - THAT long ago.) Never found it. Today, thought about it again and lo here it is! I am happy. I fell in love with this soundtrack. Thank you!
I first saw this movie in a theater in North Carolina in 1984. Even though I had seen Blade Runner two years before, I did not then know who Vangelis was, other than the guy that wrote the Chariots of Fire theme. It took the advent of the Internet for me to learn just how good his music is!
Magnifico! Lucky for us to be living in the age of this genius composer and absorb his compositions as water in a desert... I thirst for more and more of his compilations and this is perhaps my favorite as every time I hear it I can close my eyes for a split second and get transported to the beautiful pacific realm..... Thank you Vangelis and Krisztian for sharing.
Igen az anyag nagyon jó, mind közül ennek a track-nek van valami egészen különleges atmoszférája... Olyan megnyugtató, pihentető lebegő hangzás... A ritmus, a leállások...

Anyone got a clue why the drums were undermixed in the official release of the closing titles? I like the composition as a whole very much and am clueless as to why this has never seen an official release on one of his 80's or 90's albums. But lately, as I was browsing TH-cam for unknown Vangelis stuff, I got around many more bootlegs that have never seen an official release, at least not approved and/or authored by Vangelis. Thanks a million for uploading yet a good quality hard-to-find Vangelis gem!
wonderful soundtrack...not sure what's in Vangelis' head...this score, one of the finest of the last 40 years, has never had an official release while the 1492: Conquest of Paradise, release (another Vangelis masterpiece) is far from complete, missing some of the best music from the film (The Bell for example)...even the extended Blade Runner release is still not comprehensive...if anyone knows the great man please have a word...

I love Vangelis but to say he isn't hit and miss would be a lie. Beaubourg? His soundtracks however are consistently good
half of his music is boring as hell the rest are masterpieces
I sure do miss the ocean. This helps me to remember the piece of being out there
This soundtrack still haunts me. It was a dark time for me when I was listening to it. Wasted years
I wish Vangelis would release this on cd
Fantastic piece of Vangelis as always. Soundtrack and music lost everything after the 80s and we will never hear something like this again.

+Skedaren Best coment about Vangelis\80's... make complete sense.
I can't quite agree...Vangelis excelled himself in the 1990s with his 1492: Conquest of Paradise soundtrack
I prefer the dark mystic feeling in Bounty but 1492 is very good without a doubt. Only downside is the quality of the sound.
Listen to he version in my channel, improved sound!

One of the most underated movies of all time! Anthony Hopkins was excellent as Captain Bligh. A real prick but you felt empathy for him.
Bligh's devotion to the Royal Navy and his wife in this version was incredible. Nobody in England need know if he indulged in the pleasures of Tahiti, but his honor did not allow him to do so. His temper was what caused the mutiny....and this is an excellent telling of the tale.
Bounty was a sloop, I think. Lightly armed, just enough to keep the wogs away.
I couldn't agree more. Really a great film and soundtrack that should have received more recognition at the time of its release.
Pre-internet days. Only way to spread buzz then was by word of mouth. In 1984, we were too concerned with making money.
