Amazing job this old Vornado fan came back to life, Vornados are still good but they don't make them they way they use to that one still work after more than 60 years.
Vornado Inc. used to own various Department store chains across the US. In the north east they owned Two-Guy's Dept. Stores. I worked for TG in the early '70s, and remember a lot of Vornado rebranded items, washer drier, fridg, TVs. But they actually owned the fan company. Vornado got out of the dept. store business, changed their name to Vornado Realty Trust, and just rents out their properties now. But, they still own Vornado fans! And as far as I can tell, they are still made in the US. I still get a "warm fuzzy" whenever I see the Vornado name. Nice specimen of a fan you got there. I enjoy watchin you work!
I’m wondering if that is made by Vernco. A good way to control speed and slow the fan down is with a bucking transformer which will Reduce the voltage by about 6 to 12 V. Little differences like that can make a big difference in the motor speed variation.
I was told Signal made it but could be wrong. Interesting! I'll have to look into those! I also made a speed controller for fans that works super well. Can run this thing at any speed I want with that thing! Thanks for Watching!
Wow what a cool box fan i had no ideal that vornado made box fans back then lol i wish it did have a startup sound on it but all and all very powerful fan and good servicing video on it Collin i enjoyed the video i cant wait to see more this fan soon. with Summer right around the corner. lol

I would agree that this is probably a Signal product. I have two different Signal 16” box fans and there are several similarities.
