      There is some true to what you said, but it is not a total true because most Western restaurant owners refer to hire fluent English/French speaking staffs, and most illegal immigrants are not fluent in speaking either one of the languages. Secondly, food service is not the only industry that all Western youths can get a job. They can easily find a job in other service sectors like baby sitting, life guard, cashiers, grocery stockers, food delivers, ...

      I remember watching China Central TV, in China, and the man was being interviewed talking about how naked indebted slaves working in fields, at night, after generational debt had occurred and they had no chance of release. He said the revolution liberated them, but I questioned, to myself, that claim, and knew if it's possible, it'll surface again. This is the first instance of hearing anything similar, except in UK there are lots of slave sweatshops, also Asian, but not just Chinese.
      Europeans have fought and died for worker's rights, and governments, largely backed by, what is now, Israeli money, have fought, literally fought, with the citizens for them not to have rights. Robert Owen is one such, who was a great advocate for improving worker's conditions, he had to leave UK and went to US, where he was also hounded. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

    In the US it's not just Chinese, Indians behave the same way. I used to patronize a Dunkin Donuts where all the staff were Indian. If you tried to pay with any electronic payment method their reply was, "Sorry, system is down, cash only." If you'd ask for receipt the reply was, "The register is broken.". All the workers with the exception of the manager were undocumented. How do they get away with it? The owner puts all his family members on the payroll...wife, parents, children, etc. All these people were legal residents with valid Social Security numbers. Thing is that none of the relatives were doing any of the actual work. The owner also owned multiple stores where these same relatives were 'employees'. The paychecks were 'cashed' by these relatives. The payroll deductions, Social Security contributions, etc also accrued to these relatives. The State of New Jersey knows what's going on but does NOTHING about it since the Indian community vote as a block and contribute big money to politicians on both sides of the aisle.

They would work all day and had to go back into basement after the restaurant closed and they weren't allowed to leave. They got discovered only because a fire accidentally broke out in the basement. In 2019 I was talking with my server at a Chinese buffet in Long Island New York. He told me he had indentured himself in the amount of $80,000 to come to America.
    I lived in an NYC Chinese neighborhood for several years. Everybody working in cash is not only not paying taxes, they are also getting free Medicaid. When they go to apply, they'll almost certainly end up with a caseworker who was also an immigrant. These caseworkers are trained not to ask any probing questions, they only go by the adjusted gross income as supplied by the IRS. So if you haven't declared anything to the IRS, you qualify for Medicaid. Even if you did have $1 million in the bank, this would not be a disqualifying factor, as they are only allowed to look at your income and not your assets.
    That's why I left New York. I'm not going to spend $10,000 a year in property taxes, among MANY other ridiculous taxes, to fund my own replacement.

They did give free food like you said, but all the Chinese immigrants were working there 12 hours a day 6 days a week, literally 996 schedule like back in China.

      If you are basicaly beatiful /handsome you know that it's out of your direct infuence. Therefore you can't control it and don't know for certain when it will eventualy end, so you need to develop other spheres of you life, which you can control.
      Other ppl wanna be as helpful as possible to enjoy your presence (because of aesthetics), so you have temptation to let others do your stuff (brain want you to preserve your energy as much as possible (laziness)).
      If you are ambitious enough to develop other facets of life you need critical feedback.
      If ppl idealise your performance you feel validated, but can eventualy end badly (bcs in reality you underperform and beaty eventualy ends).
      If you realise that you are being privilaged by looks, you begin to doubt your abilities. If you are really able to perform certain stuff or is it only halo effect because of your "aura" that's ppl agree with you, turning blind eye on your cognitive biases or logical fallacies.
      So in short beatiful ppl need to be exploitative and frugal (to preserve their goods for time after their beuty perk ends) or uncartain of their own skills and self-critical (to balance idealisation of others).

    • @turtlesoup8134
      @turtlesoup8134 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +28

      Answer: Because there are more than 1.4 billion people in China and not all of them are rich. We all have been ruled by western propaganda from movies to books to education and this result in many people from global south to look at western countries in a positive ways (the grass is always greener in the west). There are only an estimated of 10.7 million Chinese diasporas in the world today and that may sound a lot for many countries with small population but that is only 0.076% of the Chinese in China. That is less than a drop in an ocean of people in China. Most of these so called overseas Chinese like me are not even born in China and have lived in other countries for several generations for centuries. If it is just strictly emigration from the PRC, the number is much much smaller. This is a sign that China is in fact successful in retaining most of its people. There are probably as a percentage more Canadian like me living and moving overseas than Chinese from China.

    • @tianming4964
      @tianming4964 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +15

      The numbers coming to the West are actually very very small compared to other immigrant groups. Proportional to their actual population it's more common for immigrants from the Middle East, smaller Asian countries, Latin America, and Eastern Europe to move to the west, but because China has such a huge population even if only 1% move that's more than 10 million people.
      Also it's a myth that China is a rising power. Their economy is in shambles and there are a lot more poor people there than government stats acknowledge. They lowered the threshold income of what is consider to be "poverty" and so officially there aren't many poor people even if by American standards the majority of the population would be living in poverty. On top of that the rich in China flee en masse because once you get too rich the government comes for your money. So both poor and rich are fleeing China. That being said it's still in small numbers (for now), but 1% of China leaving is still 10 million people. Actually in terms of proportion Western countries like Canada have more people leave (where something like 10% of Canadians emigrate compared for far lower numbers of Chinese). So even in counties in the West that are wealthy and developed there is a lot of emigration.

    The best route as a western man is to find a way to get scholarships for college, avoid student debt, and then find a remote job that pays in dollars abroad using the US university degree as a hiring signal. The US still has by far the best universities in the world despite their wokeness problems.
    Then move abroad to Africa, the Caribbean, or southeast Asia to find a beautiful, kind, and submissive foreign wife and buy a cheap house. Work the remote job for a few years, aggressively save and invest, then buy a second and/or third citizenship. Once you are about to reach $2 million in net worth renounce US citizenship to avoid the exit tax later on. Now move to a zero capital gains tax country or live in 2-3 countries across the year to optimize tax residency.

      I am from Romania. Here the IT sector is india level outsourcing but even then the salaries are great(about 1.5-2 minimum wages) compared to what most get(minimum wage). Minimum wage with which you can't even pay rent since rent for a room without utilities except a plug for electricity is 1.75-2.25 minimum wages in the rural areas and ghetto outskirts of the few big cities here.
      What do you suggest in this case? I am 19 and male btw.

      @@Anton43218 In your case I would apply to colleges in the US or western Europe. Since you will most likely not get a scholarship as a foreign student look for decent universities with lower than usual tuition. Then travel on a student visa. While you will learn at a university the most powerful benefit of going to a western university is the ability to convert a student visa into a higher status second citizenship after 5-8 years and to then use the citizenship and degree to signal that you are high skilled and deserve to be paid a lot. Then leave the west and go somewhere cheaper but insist on getting paid close to a western salary due to your degree. In other words, combine the high salary of western countries with the lower cost of living of developing countries.

    For those who don't understand why a 2-3% credit processing fee is so significant, let me show you.
    Let's say a menu item "chicken with rice" costs $10. It takes 15 minutes to prepare. Cost of ingredients is $2.50, cost of labor is $3.75, cost of packaging is $1.25, and the rest of overhead costs $1.00. That totals to $8.5, so the restaurant is profitting $1.5. Let's say income tax is 25% and now the restaurant is left with $1.13 from that $10 menu item. If they get charged a flat 3% CC fee on the $10 + tax charge, that would be about $0.30.
    $0.30 of $1.13 is literally 27% of your profit! By simply being cash only you don't lose 27% of your profits! This is why credit card fees are so contentious of an issue for restaurants. Most restaurants (excluding ultra expensive fine dining) run on these kinds of margins, and any increases in cost can be the apocalypse. You can only increase prices so much before people aren't willing to buy anymore, and small restaurants can't negotiate lower supply costs.
