- Thanks for tuning in today!
Last week Kyle was working over time to finish up the Rob North (Wenco) triple just in time for "track day" at Willow Springs International Raceway
With 1 day to spare, he was able to finish it up
Really big thanks to our shipping clerk Ruben for heading out to Buchanan's Spoke & Rim to pick up the front wheel last minute!
Curtis, Malcolm and Ruben all tagged along for pit-assistance last Saturday
The bike ran great, with no "major" issues...
It was 105 that day, and the only problem we ran into is that the velocity stack worked loose, Velcro tape for the seat gave out and the gas tank strap buckle snapped
Other than that, it was a blast !
Thank you for everyone's support
Enjoy the video!

I rode that bike on the street up 33 after it was built for Roger and JP, and I didn't fit well,,, so it looks like you have made huge improvements.. Nothing sounds sweeter than a Triple with a pipe at full chat... love it..
that is fantastic! You said "built" for Roger? I was under the impression that Roger built the bike? Who is JP? Danny Macias frame...
It’s so amazing that the triples have that “Jaguar” roar! She’s sounding really crisp!👍
Right! It's a crazy mix of chopper sounds and sport bike!
Great sounds.
Love the video!!!!!!!
@@SpookadeskoV-kc2xo thanks man!!! 😆😆😆
The bike look's very stable in the corners👍
I was pleasantly surprised!
Great post!
Great looking bike, glad you made the event!
Nice job .
In cool/cold weather you’ll see guys fall coming out of the Bud turn on the downhill . Cold tires and track. Get in the habit of keeping a bit of throttle on to unload the front suspension . Coasting or coming downhill bottoms the susp and the tire. You can lose the front end .
Thank you for the tips!
I wish I had a lowboy with a letterbox fairing to ride on the street. Love it.
Great Build, Kyle !
Very nice build! No worries, you’ll sort the nitty picky. Thanks for the run around the track. Great fun! Haven’t raced there in 25 years. British Bikes Rule! 🇬🇧 Cheers, RW
The problems are getting sorted out slowly but surely. Recently Kyle found some problems in the gear box and is in the middle of rebuilding it!
Nice video, Kyle, seems to be running well. Even at those 'running in' revs its possibly quicker than your 350? Well done!
Thanks! By far, the 350 is fast for what it is, but the Trident is a whole different breed
I can't see that the rear sprocket was too large as that 3cyl should easily run 7500 rpm. It looked like you were only running 4000-5000 rpms. Try going up 2 main jet sizes as it's seems like more of a tuning problem. I haven't had time to watch your other videos on this bike yet. You should have both petcocks open for adequate fuel feed, if you haven't done this. Great video!
@@JaySiewers Thanks for watching, the sprocket is too big on the rear, you’re right, I could achieve more RPM but on a big track like that there’s no point of revving it out because I can’t access more speed. Main jet is not the issue, thank you
@@classicbritishspares So if you've already tried different jets, even raising the needles I have 2 other suggestions I've come across limiting rpms. Coil output might be not enough, and exhaust too restrictive. Oh, a third, cam timing. You might want to check it with a degree wheel. Just some ideas to look into. I'm assuming it passed compression and leak down tests. I still have to watch your other videos so I don't know what all you've done yet.
@@JaySiewers let me be more clear on this, I am riding the bike at about 4000 to 5000 RPMs for a reason. The bike is more than capable enough to run at a higher rpm. But what is the point? The rear sprocket is too large. I would essentially be revving out the engine and going nowhere? I am also very aware of everything that you mention, cam timing, ignition, spark plugs, rev limiter, none of that has anything to do with the bike and the way that it’s performing. Again, I rode the bike at 4 to 5000 RPMs in the video for a specific reason, I am the limiter
@@pbysome Well I thought he wanted to race it but he only wants to just ride around the track at lower rpms since the engine isn't capable of running the rpms that it should be capable of. As for understanding gearing, I'm well versed on gearing having set up gearbox internal ratios to an engine's powerband for its shift points. Been doing this stuff since the early 70's. Apparently you and him know more than me even tho I've solved tuning and gearing issues for drag racing, road racing, and land speed records at Bonneville so my knowledge is moot to you. Sorry if I'm dumber than a stump to you.
@@JaySiewers LOL this is really entertaining - whats the big deal about the RPM? I clearly stated that I am holding that RPM for a REASON - I have no idea the condition of the engine other than a leak down test and compression test
I've never been to Willow Spring. That track looks like it's not in the great of shape. Good job with the bike though.
Thanks, its not, its rough
At the end if run you and the guy in front of you got flagged. Why?
Time to get off the track - its a track day, not a race
