BBQ PRAWNS & Pineapple Chutney | Bart van Olphen

  • When you are in Australia, you need to do some BBQing. We had the freshest sustainable prawns from the Exmouth Gulf, prawns are just amazing on the barbie! Served with a fresh pineapple chutney which combines really well with the sweet prawn meat. A great dish for a summer day. Enjoy!

    I love everything about this channel, the seafood reciples, the layout, the brand... this guy is for real. He doesn't all always cook in his own kitchen with an apron on. He takes fresh to another level, don't even get how gets access to all these cool locations/settings... this is as real as it gets. Love it.

    I've made Mango chutney with BBQ tiger prawns before and will try the pineapple for sure. pineapple on the BBQ is a nice taste. Looking forward to next Fishy Friday have a nice week.

    Hi Chef, may I ask you a question please? I’ve been a cook for 30 years, I’ve worked in all kinds of professional kitchens but I’ve NEVER been allowed to create in ANY of them. I’m wondering if you can tell me if you know of a cook book that deals with herbs, and spices and how to use them. I mean what does chervil go in? That would really help me if you could suggest something. I live in California U.S. Thank you Chef, great video, and channel. 😁

      Fair question John, I would want to inform you, but I'm more up to date regarding fish cooking books. I think regarding herbs, experiment in your own kitchen! Try whatever you think works and have a taste. Let us know how you went :)

    Is there no intestine to remove from these prawns before cooking or eating. Certainly a beautiful looking thing to eat from a barbeque, the pineapple chutney looks good with or without the prawns. 23C here on Sunday, barbie time here too. Thank You Bart

      Hi Gary, you could remove the intestine before cooking but I decided to leave it in to keep all the juices. Once they are cooked, you can devein them before eating. Thanks for watching!

    the shrimps are not deveined.... super bitter taste assured..... as for the "chutney" well shouldnt it be more 'confit' like.... kind of thick and gooey????? this one is runny. im sorry but the whole dish is so unappetizing to me.
