This is to date my favourite episode yet. OF COURSE I’m gonna tell you why, are you kidding?!? I mean, I love the fawning and the flowers giving that you guys usually do with all your guests but this episode I felt that I actually got to listen in on a coming together of three equals, talking as three actual human beings about where you are at this point in your life and everything that entails. It felt real and gave me a glimpse into Matt, Bowen and Taylor, 3 millennials figuring things out. Speaking of, I feel Matt and Bowen would be great hosting the next Spirits Awards and I would love to see Bowen perform on stage in an intimate production off broadway or something similar. Anyway, thanks for this episode. 🫶
Okayyyyyy, Mary Flannery O'Connor!! She's giving peacocks. She's giving lupus. She's giving Bible salesman stealing your fake leg. She's giving being gored by a bull in the middle of a field. I am campaigning for her to receive a new Las Cultch Award, "Writer of Stories for the Southern Gothic Baddie Girlie's, Posthumous"! THANK YOU!
I’m a ride or die fan of T Tom, forever fan of SNL, and now… just found a new ‘love it!’. So awesome! Great TH-cam vid. Such a fun hang! Thank you thank you thank you!! 💖✨💖
Go back Matt! It makes you look older and washed out. Honestly, when I first saw a picture of you, Bowen, and Cole, I said who is that old guy!? No joke, sorry. You’re so gorgeous with your own hair color,
Jo Koy is not a great comedian. He couldn't even hold his own on Chelsea Lately back in the day and boy did he try hard at that table. If you host a big awards show you have to be quick on your feet and have great comedic timing. It's why he's the only "big comic" that bombed so hard because Jo Koy doesn't have both. He's just another Dane Cook in stand up that sold a lot of tickets but no one can remember a single joke of his stand up specials.
Misogyny? I actually do love the show. Its very entertaining. I also grew up loving Strangers with Candy and the Colbert Report. But he strikes me as a bit of a Bernie bro now (hidden misogynist). He still identifies as Catholic. It’s weird.
@@JDMimeTHEFIRST the only reason I can come up with is to keep more money for himself but maybe he doesn’t trust a women with the reigns both options are sad imo. I’ve always loved Colbert but someone recently said that all the late night hosts are either insane or miserable and I feel like Colbert and Fallon are the miserable ones and obviously Meyers, Kimmel, and Oliver are insane. I don’t think he’s fulfilled doing the late show anymore, but he’s stuck there since Cordon left and I’d imagine he likes the steady paycheck too.
The show concept obvi came first, then they got someone to host it. Probably a choice to (a) feature more comedian guests in late night and (b) offer an alternative to the normal talk show instead of trying to play that same game. Unlikely that they schemed: "We must get a female host... But we can't give her any autonomy."
Taylor, we can still tell when you're reading the prompter. It's very jarring when it sounds like you're speaking conversationally but then you finish reading a line and turn to the contestents.
The goal is not making it look she’s not reading from a prompter. They’re saying some people can’t even READ what’s rolling through the screen without messing up. Heck, even Taylor messes up sometimes on After Midnight but then she always makes a joke out of it.
"Angelica's behavior was not in God's light." Is possibly the greatest synopsis of Rugrats ever.
never heard of Rugrats before, but that synopsis aptly describes so very many things ...
I adore Taylor! So glad you guys had her on so I could find your podcast. It was such a lovely listen and I’m checking out more of your stuff 😃

i am PANTING for matt in this episode. whatever bleached-hair/5-o'clock-shadow wizardry is happening, my body is listening. whew!
My face hurts from smiling straight through this episode.

my brain's first reading of that middle sentence was 'She's giving being bored by a bull in the middle of a field." and i was all... hmmm
taylor's IDTSH was CRISP
OMG Bowen! How amazing to have Baz want to meet you. So Amazing!

What a lovely episode. Thank you 🧡
Can't wait for Taylor to get comfortable enough to kick those heels off behind the podium or just tell the stylist she's done with them. ❤
15:01 Bowen asking if Taylor wishes she could sit down is my sense of humor in a nutshell.
This is everything I needed
Also, I'm insanely surprised Bowen and Matt didn't bring up that Taylor's crew finally brought Drag Queens onto after midnight
Weren't Alaska and Katya guests on the original?
@@gldnboipresentsand Ginger
Huh? Willam and alaska were both on at midnight...
@@gldnboipresents honestly, I was a hardcore addict back when the original show aired so you're probably 100% correct
Bowen and Taylor!🎉
Something about Matt’s look today is giving Ewan McGregor
1:23:42 amazing rant
Daddy Viacom is my drag name
I dunno why Matt's slight lean into Bowen's frame at 24:04 is so funny to me, but
1:10:01 OMG SHOUTOUT !!!!!
Immediately felt bad that I don’t know who Sutton Foster is and I do in fact live near Savannah😭
Same, had to look her up since I live no where close to NYC.
47:47 - this is me. lanita is mother
Matt going through the bleached blonde hair phase that most white boys go through 😂

Why is Matt going through a John Duff era?
Life starts at 40
This episode is sooo good (but Olive Garden is gross)
connections dont be making any sense!

Just leave me alone please I don't want anything from you.

So the only woman in late night is just an employee? Why did Colbert structure it this way?

Matt Rogers….shaved head and blonde….has someone checked in on him and see if he is ok? Looks good though
First comment! 💅🏻
You know, "like", I don't know but, "like", and sometimes it's "like", and "like" I felt bad, and I realized "like"...
