One thing (out of many) that I've always enjoyed about Joe's channel is just the pure enthusiasm and zest for life. The fish, the sunsets, the dragonflies, jumping in the river fully dressed... Joe's laugh when something delights him is infectious and it's one of the things that makes his content so enjoyable to watch.

Recently, I learned that if you attach a plastic dragonfly onto your person somewhere noticeable, the horse/deer/black flies (and mosquitos) stay away, it's basically a Scarefly [scarecrow, but for the prey of dragonflies]. I'd suggest gluing the plastic dragonfly onto a safety pin or barrette, then it's modular!

I love how the more and more away from people and civilisation you get, the more you appreciate nature. The skies, the insects, the trees, the fish, etc. That’s what it’s all about right there. Connection. We re born of nature and we will return to it. When we put aside technology and sit in the wilderness, even for a few hours, we reconnect to the old ways and to our ancestors. It’s crying out to us to find it again and we simply have to follow. Back is the only way forward.
Thank you for keeping the touch burning man🔥

Hearing you talk about the dead tree at @19:35, reminded me that *YOU* Joe...inadvertently saved my ass in Aokigahara Forest (AKA Japan’s ‘suicide forest’) after I learned from one of your videos the wisdom of checking for “Widow-maker” trees and branches around your campsite 🏕 before setting up your tent.
I camped there in May (2021) and was just about to set the tent when, after having already checked for and avoided the obviously dead trees, I remembered to give the one closest to the site a good kick just for peace of mind...
(boot to tree🥾🌳)..Crack!...Woosh! THUD!!! A 3-4 inch thick branch landed _right_ where the tent was gonna go, and definitely would have at least put at serious hurt 😳☠️😳 on whoever it had landed on had I not remembered to check one more time, thanks to your vids.

Lovely Joe. I switched on to your channel recently - so many gems . It's my nightly meditation watching your videos, a quiet descends in the heart of London as I'm transported to your world :) This series is particularly stunning! It draws you in to the unseen, the unspoken. I also love the easy way you talk to us too, taking us with you, your unselfconcious banter. Your videos are so nourishing, your cheerful self keeps me going, while I have to by necessity, patiently wait, whilst planning a move back to Wales. Most of all, I love the way your spirit sits with nature like an old, loved friend returning...

Keeping the pressure on them correctly and you become a better angler while not dealing with the barbs. Cheers.

A lot of people (myself included) are spoiled with our cellphones, electronics, cars, etc and are a bit caught up with it but when you take a step back and just take in the beauty the world really has to offer, it’s really so amazing and eye opening/awe inspiring. Wabakimi is a special place. You’ve capture the spirit well. I did a train in fly out trip with my daughters in 2007 and a solo fly in train out in 2010.

The host of the show quickly pointed out to listeners, "I just wanted to let our audience know that Fokker was a manufacturer of aircraft in World War One." The first scene is brilliant. Ever considered to be an actor ;p? the facial expressions, the silence, the music, the cliffs, it all fits. Its almost you woke up on a random lake when a zombie apocalyps hit the world and u realize this is your world now. ah well, maybe its just my imagination. great vid mate

My neighborhood here in South Carolina has a lot of ponds and we get a lot of Canadian geese that will hang out for the winter. Sometimes, I'll see families of them while I'm out riding my bike on the nature trails near me, and I've seen that protective behavior before. I try to steer clear of them, but sometimes I can't help but stumble on them a little too close. Both mama and papa will stomp their feet and hiss at me. It's hilarious to see, because you can tell they mean business, but it's also cute as hell. I'll quickly back off because I'm not out to cause them any problems, and it's great to see nature at work like that.

    Good Morning Ranger Joe !
I'm absolutely loving this series. You ARE the epitome of outdoor adventure ! This video was uploaded yesterday the 26th, and I'm watching on the 27th on the 70".
YOUR editing, cinematography come shining through, with all of the vid super crisp and your audio is on point.
Maybe on future vids you could annotate the weather temperatures, wind etc.
Did I say how much I love your content? Lol.
Wishing you and your lovely wife and girls the very best.
Warmest Regards from long time subscriber in Arizona.

As an Oregonian it’s really hard to be impressed with the beauty or the wildness of a location but man does northern Ontario wilderness do the job! I wish we had the interconnected lakes and the ability to just paddle and portage like that!!! What an absolute treasure to have those kind of options for adventure to just be able to paddle into the back country!!! It’s like the ultimate choose your own adventure. Thank you for all of the years of videos Joe you really do a great job of being yourself and being genuine and that’s why we all continue to watch and always will!!
