芭絲卡本身是研究中國戲曲的專家，曾和李天祿的首位外國徒弟班任旅（Jean-Luc Penso）共同研究過亦宛然掌中劇團，本身對戲曲常出現的唐代歷史就有涉獵，她的中文造詣更沒話說，莫言的《紅高粱家族》、劉以鬯的《倒對》（王家衛《花樣年華》故事靈感來源）法文版小說都是她譯的。

Well, I have to say that it is quite difficult to understand in english or in french when you attempt to use chinese language to express the feelings of the ambience because the whole meaning won't be the same, but really the interpreter was excellent, and so far I see she did a great job! C'est bien!

Congrats to Director Hou Hsiao-Hsien for receiving the best director award at Cannes!! Now, I've no idea Mr. Hou seems quite funny even when he looks serious. Witness his jokes at around 3:18 16:45 45:06 ! Wise and very funny man!
Need help from Japanese speakers re 26:33 or it will be our "Lost in Translation" moment where everyone, include the moderator have a good laugh! :)
Will watch the rest later when I have time.
the French translate is too short compared to the Japanese speech and they can‘t believe it‘s so short which mainly because the Japanese has lots of extra words to speak politely.

I think a multilingual interpreter would be a better choice for this task. The French interpreter did a great job. It's a shame that the French-English interpreter can't speak Chinese.
