There was an old saying; "If they can put a man on the moon..." Seriously, Konami needs to do this last decade. This dude right here is essentially a real-life Seto Kaiba in the making. Add in voice commands too, like Google or Alexa integration, so you can make commands to activate and change the positions of cards etc. Man, this is an awesome project, and I hope this guy succeeds.
I love Yugioh but duel disks & Duel Runners would have to remain fantasy due to my low vision. BUT a duel Tablet with accessibility settings would be badass.

I definitely agree you. With God knows how many monsters that exists in the current TCG, it’s going to be straining as hell but if Konami’s willing to support it, it can be done.
1 guy stole decades worth of assets from video games that were developed by hundreds of artists and compiled them into a product that will likely never see the light of day due to copyright, that 1 guy doesn't have any of the legal responsibilities or cost requirements that a company would have. He stole the assets so he doesn't have to pay the artists, the company can't do that because they will get sued out of existence, the company would have to at the very least pay royalties to those artists which costs money. Not to mention all the costs for hosting servers, updated cards, etc.

Expensive or not though we bought vr we would buy this. And more than just hardcore players would buy. I would buy and I only enjoy yugioh in passing. This could in theory be used for every card game of this type, Pokémon, Yu-gi-oh, Magic, hell even board games could be thrown in for AR board games. I am fairly hyped for the final idea
Not only is expensive, it's also an accessory- a treasured one, but an accessory nonetheless. Doubtful that a company would fund money into it unless they see it as a vital component to expansion
honestly this is the only reason I think smart glasses should exist, just an app on it, you turn it on, it connects to some servers and just scans the cards infront of you and projects them. size and all that can be changed in the settings
The only problem with the phone duel disk is that people will inevitably yeet their phones across the room, just like how they ended up flinging wii remotes at TVs.
When you open the app they should at least have a message saying something like "Please don't throw your phones while dueling" Like Pokémon GO's obey traffic laws and don't trespass.
Well... They would probably have a Cover that has a Screen Protector and to keep the Phone in place while people are flinging their arms around drawing cards
I’d gladly throw whatever money is needed at this, and with the AR it’s like Zexal where they all have an eye piece they wear when duelling to see the monsters come to life.

Pokemon fans do this too, there's a whole mmo game for pokemon a developer made that uses roms from platinum Heartgold Firered Emerald Black/white It's the best version of any pokemon game I've ever known. These big companys acting like monopolys need to see competition in the market to even decide on making better products. Look at yugipedia, konami then made neuron which is literally the same thing as yugipedia. (To anyone who read all my rambling thank you and have a wonderful day :D)

Some storylines are changed too, like... catching a legendary means u have to fight to keep that legendary... it is a challenging game and that's why i love it. Not to mention your pkmn follow you and moving pokemons or checking ivs or evs is easier

I would really love that. This would be so cool. Dueling would move to the VR area, it would create so much new content for you. I have a few people that are millionaires that would love to be glad to invest in creative things like this. This is why we need more Programsers, Engineers, and Graphic Designers. I know Graphic Design, because I have an AS in it. And I am very good in math.
Yugioh AR duel is achieveable. But unfortunately ITS up to Konami to decide it. Or somebody should buy yugioh license from Konami. And develop it to the next level.
About the animation of monsters we don't need to make an animation for every monster, we just need an animation for monsters like blue eyes, dark magician, red eyes... also spell/trap cards Don't need any animation
Or a set of standard animations (Summon, Attack mode, Defence mode, Attack, Death) for each model type (Dragon, Humanoid Magician, Humanoid Warrior, Dinosaur, Quadruped, etc), then only doing special animations as they feel like working on them.
I always said that xexal, however you spell it, had the most realistic interpretation of the duel disk/vr/ar technology of the yugioh universe. Not a fan of that serise but will always give it credit for that Edit: where is this and how do I support it? I want this in my life, I had so many people say "if it was like the anime is play but right now it's a little boring for me". I don't care if we have to go back to "caveman" style of duels where normal monster are more common in decks and decks for kinda simple. If this is how it'll be I'll be more then happy to accept it at least for a while

Fun Fact: I actually made a system kinda like that when i was in my game making class in university. It wasn't for Yugioh and just a basic prototype, but it als 'materialized' cards and changed them to defense when turned and stuff. With Unity that's actually pretty simple to do.

With the Quest 3 having recently been released, Mixed Reality became accessible to regular consumers. It's no longer restricted to enterprise grade headsets. So, a real-life duel with MR would totally be within the realm of possibilities. The headset can absolutely support multiplayer MR experiences, and even has scene understanding with its depth sensor (making virtual 3D objects able to interact with real-life geometry). Add to that the Quest 3's hand-tracking capabilities and we'd be able to interact with our virtual cards and duel disks using our hands rather than controllers. The cherry on top would be using voice commands to perform moves such as attacking or ending the turn. The question is whether we'll ever see anyone leverage modern consumer grade MR hardware to bring Yugioh to life.
Honestly I think if Konami would take this route then they or the dude doing this greatness should use the duel links cards and format to bring it to life in the beginning in my honesty lol
I wish they can release it soon but only with the synchro era card pool so we can test it out how cool it can be. Then after that, they can continue working with the XYZ era and above. All I can say I’m impressed :D
i remember being 16 and a t friends house talking about how we could do yugioh like in the anime, The cards barely had reach my country and it was first generation TCG. Wow, this hits close to home.
since I was only 10 years old. I love Yugioh so much, invested all my pocket money and wishing for a duel disk similar to the anime. I remember feeling so much happiness when I first try out the Yugioh AR via android and saw the 3D version of the Obelisk and Blue Eyes. Now I'm 22 and I still want the same thing. HAHAHAHA
The fact this is still a work progress in the real, it really shows in the series Seto Kaiba was really ahead of his time as he was able create augmented simulated made holograms and later Virtual reality (ironically better and more life like than anything we have in the real world) before the Oculus Rift and the Iphone was invented in the series canon. It just shows how Intelligent Kaiba is, he's practically a genius by creating these stuff.
I generally feel that if Yu-Gi-Oh did go down this route of offering fully rendered almost to scale three dimensional versions of cards from the game we would see a rather large insurgent of people actually playing again. Honestly I am 40 years old and I still like playing the game. But since high school I’ve always kind of dreamt of the full real to life three-dimensional monsters from the anime. In fact it was one of the reasons why I fought hard to get put on the advanced technology class..... and as a project I spent nearly 2 semesters with some friends creating an idea to bring it to light. Everything from actual three-dimensional holograms.......How to build a device that could house the technology....... in even find ways to properly fund it. Sadly everything we came up started off really cool but then reality started to sit in realizing that technology just was not advanced enough for our imagination. Like the ideas of holograms.....It seemed cool on paper but then when we realize that holograms are very vulnerable to stronger sources of light, the player would have to play only in dark rooms for it to work. And right there you’ve already kind of alienated adegree of your player base. Eventually we just kind of ran out of ways to make it work but we still passed with a very high grade because our teacher was impressed at how hard we worked on trying to solve a problem which he said was the main idea of the whole project in the first place. Anyway I grew older and graduated from high school then one day I was watching Yu-Gi-Oh arc-V..... and at the time augmented reality was already taking off. But when I saw the first episode I realized....”OH MY GOOOOOOOOD!”...”THATS IT!!!!” A more compact more practical way of turning the cards into giant three-dimensional monsters..... but in a way that you wouldn’t have to carry around a large amount of equipment... nor would you have to play in a very particular location! Not to mention even before the anime came out Konami was already invented the duel terminal. Which was basically a glorified game that scanned special cards and turn them into three-dimensional game graphics. So it was so simple just take the idea of duel terminal..... and wait for augmented reality to reach a higher degree. BOOM!.....Fully realistic true to life duel monsters. And best of all I live in Georgia and we have a place called the mall of Georgia. Near the food court there is this large courtyard. There is even an open stage. Both would make a perfect location for even the biggest Yu-Gi-Oh monster to be summoned. And because of the size of the courtyard you would still have enough space where you can enjoy a game against your friends without blocking people who are going to the mall. Yo damn concerned about is a 40-year-old guy doing against maybe a 10-year-old kid yelling out.....” I activate my trap card!” While people walk by and wonder what the hell we’re doing!...lol
Assuming this is successful it could revolutionize gaming as a whole. I bet this could outsell sports events assuming the monsters were full sized and realistic.
I would kill for this to be in main stream tournaments. I have loved yugioh since I was a kid and never understood why some many people don't like it. I have dreamed about having my own duel disk and dueling other people in arenas

@@rayplaylist I never said it is as fast as but many people think about summon one set 2 pass because they only played with their friends and never seen a competive match from back then. And many think modern day ygo 2-4 turbs max and old school taking far longer.
I've always been saying that AR games would be pretty cool, and now that I'm watching Zexal, the concept of a Duel Gazer replacing the holograms with a much more possible Augmented Reality (minus the environmental effects, naturally) system I got excited. I hope Project A.T.E.M. really gets some momentum behind it and that Konami doesn't kill it because it's not theirs. I wanna an old dude dueling brats on a bus or something.
That's something i kinda wanted when i first saw the ZEXAL anime. You have AR Duel Glasses when you want to duel. That concept is far more realistic than in the "older" variants. Imagine what can be possible? I can't think of anything from a duel you couldn't recreate in AR ... ok maybe you can't get real damage LOL. I'd love to see this and play myself
YES PLEASE, i have wanted this since i was a kid. This type of tech jump could make yu-gi-oh bigger than pokemon and i want so badly to see it happen. Remember the craze for pokemon go; Konami, get on this.
I think the name of the project is clever since it is the pharoh's name in duel monsters, It is kind of emberasing that Konami did not come up with this themselves.
All will hopefully come in time. I stopped playing around the time kaibas tournament ended. Didn't get in the hype of the god cards but, I would support this 100% for those who still love and play the game. I would love to watch duels like this.

As I watched this, an idea popped into my head. A idea I got was Yu-Gi-Oh! VR but not how you think, no, no, this vr version would be like how you watch be videos using a headset and your phone except on your phone would be a camera app, this camera app will see a card and have a model over it (like project atem) except this app will be for irl cards so you won’t be able to have a duel disk but with a camera hole on the headset your app will still be able to show models on top of cards in its vision and if you move your monster card in a swiping motion it will show a attacking model.
I want a glove accessory based on the duelist kingdom glove that allows you to interact with cards in the virtual space you see with The Duel Gazer. This way, if you wanted to play without physical cards and instead go on a cloud system just like kaiba that option is available to you.

I always said that xexal, however you spell it, had the most realistic interpretation of the duel disk/vr/ar technology of the yugioh universe. Not a fan of that serise but will always give it credit for that
Edit: where is this and how do I support it? I want this in my life, I had so many people say "if it was like the anime is play but right now it's a little boring for me". I don't care if we have to go back to "caveman" style of duels where normal monster are more common in decks and decks for kinda simple. If this is how it'll be I'll be more then happy to accept it at least for a while

This project looks & sounds cool. I remember when I was still in school my friends & I would imagine dueling each other like how they do it in the anime.
Imagine this kind of technology in a feature duel, either by players or those actor duels in the big events.

Fun Fact: I actually made a system kinda like that when i was in my game making class in university. It wasn't for Yugioh and just a basic prototype, but it als 'materialized' cards and changed them to defense when turned and stuff. With Unity that's actually pretty simple to do.

With the Quest 3 having recently been released, Mixed Reality became accessible to regular consumers. It's no longer restricted to enterprise grade headsets. So, a real-life duel with MR would totally be within the realm of possibilities. The headset can absolutely support multiplayer MR experiences, and even has scene understanding with its depth sensor (making virtual 3D objects able to interact with real-life geometry). Add to that the Quest 3's hand-tracking capabilities and we'd be able to interact with our virtual cards and duel disks using our hands rather than controllers. The cherry on top would be using voice commands to perform moves such as attacking or ending the turn.
The question is whether we'll ever see anyone leverage modern consumer grade MR hardware to bring Yugioh to life.
Would this be the coolest development in augmented technology ever? Absolutely!
Honestly I think if Konami would take this route then they or the dude doing this greatness should use the duel links cards and format to bring it to life in the beginning in my honesty lol
I wish they can release it soon but only with the synchro era card pool so we can test it out how cool it can be. Then after that, they can continue working with the XYZ era and above. All I can say I’m impressed :D
i remember being 16 and a t friends house talking about how we could do yugioh like in the anime, The cards barely had reach my country and it was first generation TCG. Wow, this hits close to home.
since I was only 10 years old. I love Yugioh so much, invested all my pocket money and wishing for a duel disk similar to the anime. I remember feeling so much happiness when I first try out the Yugioh AR via android and saw the 3D version of the Obelisk and Blue Eyes. Now I'm 22 and I still want the same thing. HAHAHAHA

The fact this is still a work progress in the real, it really shows in the series Seto Kaiba was really ahead of his time as he was able create augmented simulated made holograms and later Virtual reality (ironically better and more life like than anything we have in the real world) before the Oculus Rift and the Iphone was invented in the series canon. It just shows how Intelligent Kaiba is, he's practically a genius by creating these stuff.

I generally feel that if Yu-Gi-Oh did go down this route of offering fully rendered almost to scale three dimensional versions of cards from the game we would see a rather large insurgent of people actually playing again. Honestly I am 40 years old and I still like playing the game. But since high school I’ve always kind of dreamt of the full real to life three-dimensional monsters from the anime. In fact it was one of the reasons why I fought hard to get put on the advanced technology class..... and as a project I spent nearly 2 semesters with some friends creating an idea to bring it to light. Everything from actual three-dimensional holograms.......How to build a device that could house the technology....... in even find ways to properly fund it.
Sadly everything we came up started off really cool but then reality started to sit in realizing that technology just was not advanced enough for our imagination. Like the ideas of holograms.....It seemed cool on paper but then when we realize that holograms are very vulnerable to stronger sources of light, the player would have to play only in dark rooms for it to work. And right there you’ve already kind of alienated adegree of your player base.
Eventually we just kind of ran out of ways to make it work but we still passed with a very high grade because our teacher was impressed at how hard we worked on trying to solve a problem which he said was the main idea of the whole project in the first place. Anyway I grew older and graduated from high school then one day I was watching Yu-Gi-Oh arc-V..... and at the time augmented reality was already taking off. But when I saw the first episode I realized....”OH MY GOOOOOOOOD!”...”THATS IT!!!!” A more compact more practical way of turning the cards into giant three-dimensional monsters..... but in a way that you wouldn’t have to carry around a large amount of equipment... nor would you have to play in a very particular location! Not to mention even before the anime came out Konami was already invented the duel terminal. Which was basically a glorified game that scanned special cards and turn them into three-dimensional game graphics. So it was so simple just take the idea of duel terminal..... and wait for augmented reality to reach a higher degree.
BOOM!.....Fully realistic true to life duel monsters. And best of all I live in Georgia and we have a place called the mall of Georgia. Near the food court there is this large courtyard. There is even an open stage. Both would make a perfect location for even the biggest Yu-Gi-Oh monster to be summoned. And because of the size of the courtyard you would still have enough space where you can enjoy a game against your friends without blocking people who are going to the mall.

Assuming this is successful it could revolutionize gaming as a whole. I bet this could outsell sports events assuming the monsters were full sized and realistic.
I would kill for this to be in main stream tournaments. I have loved yugioh since I was a kid and never understood why some many people don't like it. I have dreamed about having my own duel disk and dueling other people in arenas

actually, it's a perfect opportunity to take everyone to the slower pace of duelling, you know, how about konami hq and crown made this project A.T.E.M. based on DM to GX only cards, slower pace? checked, exciting? checked, nostalgic? checked, it would be awesome.

@@rayplaylist I never said it is as fast as but many people think about summon one set 2 pass because they only played with their friends and never seen a competive match from back then. And many think modern day ygo 2-4 turbs max and old school taking far longer.

I've always been saying that AR games would be pretty cool, and now that I'm watching Zexal, the concept of a Duel Gazer replacing the holograms with a much more possible Augmented Reality (minus the environmental effects, naturally) system I got excited. I hope Project A.T.E.M. really gets some momentum behind it and that Konami doesn't kill it because it's not theirs. I wanna an old dude dueling brats on a bus or something.

That's something i kinda wanted when i first saw the ZEXAL anime. You have AR Duel Glasses when you want to duel. That concept is far more realistic than in the "older" variants. Imagine what can be possible? I can't think of anything from a duel you couldn't recreate in AR ... ok maybe you can't get real damage LOL. I'd love to see this and play myself
If nothing else I think seeing something like this at a tournament would be amazing

I think the name of the project is clever since it is the pharoh's name in duel monsters, It is kind of emberasing that Konami did not come up with this themselves.
All will hopefully come in time. I stopped playing around the time kaibas tournament ended. Didn't get in the hype of the god cards but, I would support this 100% for those who still love and play the game. I would love to watch duels like this.

As I watched this, an idea popped into my head. A idea I got was Yu-Gi-Oh! VR but not how you think, no, no, this vr version would be like how you watch be videos using a headset and your phone except on your phone would be a camera app, this camera app will see a card and have a model over it (like project atem) except this app will be for irl cards so you won’t be able to have a duel disk but with a camera hole on the headset your app will still be able to show models on top of cards in its vision and if you move your monster card in a swiping motion it will show a attacking model.

I want a glove accessory based on the duelist kingdom glove that allows you to interact with cards in the virtual space you see with The Duel Gazer. This way, if you wanted to play without physical cards and instead go on a cloud system just like kaiba that option is available to you.
