    Sabine i was out of work for 4 years due to personal reasons taking care of my mother she was not well yet working fortunately she has retired now so how can i start my job search process which points would work in my favour like direct cold call or cold email or posting resume or messaging on LinkedIn ? Also does being very honest direct help me in this case should i first talk about it before they coming to know ? Are there any good books on this subject to know more ...

      Hello Mohib, many thanks for your message. Book-wise, I would recommend: What Color Is Your Parachute, there is a 2022 version that provides insights on effective strategies in today's market. I would recommend to be transparent. Don't see being out of work as a liability. Share the underlying rationale and then proactively outline what you have learned along the way that can help you in the new position. I hope this is of help. My best wishes to you.
