- No stopping me now! LOL Another fruitful hour or so on the plot today. I planted the two Peter's Persica climbing roses - beautiful, and a few more apple trees.
Despite initial appearance, the soil is not too bad. Some areas are pure clay though and this is due to poor terracing when the plots were crafted out of the hillside.
As promised, here is the link to the Countryman Turfing Iron - such an easy way to move grass! amzn.to/4hJDqqO

Great video with the Fruit Tree planting, it definitely got you out of breath all that digging. Watch that wire that you don't decapitate yourself, you will have to tie some ribbon on it until everything starts to grow. TC.
Barry (the Wirral)
Love the new fruit trees and trellis for rose all taking shape.
Thanks so much Nicola😊 Slowly getting there but not today! Too cold for me LOL
Have a great week down there (my son is working in Falmouth all week)
Good progress while the weather is favourable Steve. Coming cold on my weeks gritting.
🌱❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️🌱happy gardening, Terry King.
Yep, I woke up to -1°C this morning! Glad I got a few things done when i did!
Stay warm in your wagon buddy!
@DigwellGreenfingers forecast has now changed so hopefully a few good nights sleep.
The Master Digwell returns with a blooming great video😁.
Gotta lve the flowery comment PMSL
Have a great week!
Great video lovely to see the new plot taking shape. Thanks Steve and take care
Glad you enjoyed it, San. You know me, slow and steady LOL
Have a great week!
Hi Steve, nice trellis for your fruit trees and good job planting too. Nice video update. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
So nice of you, Christine.
Hope you have a great week 😊
Yay...the new plot is on it's way!
Until this morning when I woke up to -1°C, Robin. On hold for a few days now LOL
Have a great week! 😊
@@DigwellGreenfingers It's interesting.
We were just up north at the Wisconsin place. Started the day @ -12.2c with bright sunshine and no breeze. Totally fine to be out in, dressed right. Actually uplifting with the fresh air and sun. Then yesterday it was -1c grey and windy and it was very cold to be out in, even bundled up.
We were meant to get 3" of snow last night, but it's gone south of us. YAY for no shoveling needed.🤣
@@RobinGardens -12°C ouch! Never been in that much cold here but I have down in the Falkland Isles, brrrrr. I guess you know, but they say that snow shovelling causes more heart attacks than any other activity!
@@DigwellGreenfingers If it's a heavy one....we use the snow blower.
Good to see you gardening
Nice to be back, so to speak. There was nothing I could do, really, over Dec/Jan - too wet, too cold etc I would have done more harm than good LOL
Let the rain do its thing??? I'm so jealous Steve. I was thinking that your sawsall sounded a bit anemic, and then you said the battery was running down. Love battery powered tools for these situations. Too bad our batteries aren't all interchangeable! Take care.
It did rain so I was happy LOL
To be fair, I have not charged it since Autumn LOL - it took a good 30 mins to fill up with juice at home LOL (Plus I have a few new blades - cheap ones were supplied with the kit!0
@ yeah, rained according to your desires 😁👍. No charge since early fall? That's either one efficient tool and battery. Ir ... 🤣
@@BrainStormAcres I think I last used it to chop up brussels sprouts stalks in November. Been sat in the car ever since LOL
@ battery abuse!
@@BrainStormAcres I'll go hand myself in!
Good job! for climbing roses the graft is good to be under the ground as it promotes new shoots coming from above the graft, usualy 2-3 inches below soil is good
Thanks for the tip, I'll build the level up a bit.
Nice coming along tfs sylvi🎉🎉🎉
Cheers Sylvi, hope you have a great week!
hello steve up the apples & pears lol iv got a golden delicious apple i had my best crop off it last year . ivan
Cheers Ivan. The Discovery is in the same pollination group, and, as if that is not enough, there are several other apple trees planted by the site owner 5 years ago 🙂
Have a great week buddy!
@ here’s to a great crop this year 👌👌
You need flags on them or ribbons 🎀. Oh that will look lovely if you can stop bleeding from all the pokes 😂. Still under house arrest ❄️❄️❄️, but all good I need to sort out flower sowings. Have a super day, Ali -3🥶❄️❄️🇨🇦
-1°C here today Ali, so stuck indoors planning and cooking! (see my reply to your oter comment)
Stay warm! It will pass soon and you won't even remember it!
@@DigwellGreenfingers a few more inches last night ❄️❄️❄️
Ps use some of that ribbon you used on the tree on the wires
Okay, smart arse! I was gonna buy some glittery tape, but this is a better (cheaper!) idea. They are in fact wide shoe laces for sneakers. I used to sell them on eBay, and I found a big bag of them under my bed while Spring cleaning!
@ holy crap you spring clean 🤣🤣🤣
@@myrustygarden Okay, let me rephrase that, "Spring shuffle the crap about!!"
