RIP chris cornell. My Grandma passed December 15th. She was amazing and lived a long happy life! the meaning of this song is a little vague but Chris did say he thought of an old man waiting to join his lover in the after life as one of the inspirations. Her and my grandpa are very Christian and my grandma's favorite bible verse said "my father's house has many rooms" (or something similar im not too sure.) This song just makes me think of them now and probably always will. Beautiful song!

Agreed. Cornell in my opinion was THE quintessential voice of rock in the 90's. Soundgarden got lumped into the "grunge" genre simply because of where they came from and because of the time period they became popular.

Chris was some sort of gift of talent, bestowed to his adoring fans, not just as one of the best lyricists /vocalist of a generation but when he briefly took a break as a musician.., he then became a runway model in France, with his blue eyes and dark hair @ 6"3 . some people were at the front of the line when"mother nature was bestowing gifts!......!
