Your idea is absolutely amazing and the world/scenery was executed flawlessly. Heres the deal. Everyones saying “coaster went too fast”, “not enough good views”, “not enough momentum”, etc but the real issue is just simply that this creation is not best fit for a single coaster. You ran into all the issues that anyone would have when trying to create a coaster thats subject to the constraints of the contest and constraints of the map/creation itself. I think this scenario as a entire park would be amazing cause it scales muchhhhh better. One coaster just cant scale that well to the whole map. Now, of course for the contest, you needed a single coaster. The airplane “soaring overhead” approach was exactly the right call and about the only thing you could do to make it work. So I think the coaster lacks in some areas but only because it isnt what this creation is best suited for. Working with what you had, and that artistry... dang exceptional work Blubber! You’re giving me some really tough competition!
Blubber i dont know what he meant when he said it doesn’t explore the terrain well, ive never seen an airplane go underground or whatever he wanted from the coaster. You did great man, im a big fan of this coaster!
Agreed. Concept was a really cool idea, but I wish I felt more like I was actually soaring through valleys, hills, and landscape in general. There are a few items that while on the map could have been used to up the immersion. Like the great pyramid.. would have been cool to go inside of it, go into the ground and visit the tomb etc. At times the coaster felt to fast so you missed a lot of theming as well.
Billy Reichard that sounds very cool indeed! But if i would go deep into every landmark i wouldn't be able to soar accros the whole map with the coasters momentum :)
@@blubber8961 Definitely a valid point. They need to add a launch ability to make it happen with the current coaster type. Would have saved from having to many chain lifts.
Definitely a unique concept. While I agree on so much, I actually didn't love the layout because it went by so fast I didn't feel like I got to explore the world at all. I missed so much scenery. I also don't think the fireworks were necessary at all and the sane signs on the second lift cheapened the quality of the work. That being said, I would love to see more of this layout. Maybe you could remake this into a park or scenario?
coasterzigner i mostly focused on the world map itself and maybe too little on the coaster since i have not that much experience with building those big ones, but hope to get better everytime! I added the fireworks to have something to look at going up the lifts (must admit its a bit random). I have to many projects going on to work on this aswell, but the map is on my workshop. Just delete the coaster and anything else and you're free to build in the world map :)
Really enjoyed this, the map is great, a few of the landmarks don't really get seen from the coaster but it's good that those areas of the map weren't just left as empty terrain, and I can imagine it would have needed some really jerky corners to get around every inch of the land masses. I would have preferred at least some kind of supports but maybe it would be impossible to include enough supports without the whole thing being crazy cluttered so I can respect that decision too. I like that the two main lifts/drops are well timed to the music, if that's deliberate. Only other thing I'd say is there are 1-2 moments where the coaster is heading toward the edge of the map and there's nothing in front of it but an empty wall, those were really the only parts where I felt like it broke the immersion, and some kind of scenery, cloud effects, a waterfall or fireworks or just something like that could have disguised the 'edge of the world'. Loved it overall though, great idea and done really well, and I love that the boarding station is a huge airplane that you launch from underneath, really adds to the theming of the coaster.
I've actually done an excel sheet Jonny of the longest length, highest height, etc. etc. I'll be happy to pass that thru when the contest is done entirely.
Really awesome submission, Blubber. I love the idea and all the miniatures fit in so nicely, giving it this playful cartoonish look. I also think the coaster fits the setting. It's an airplane flight after all and the banking doesn't need to be too exaggerated. I think if you completely avoided inversions this would have carried the idea of a somewhat relaxing exploration of the world even further. I love it! :)
One of the greatest unrealistic scaled scenery, it is astounding and great. An overall very great project just shy of amazing. Music fits well, theme was marvelous. I loved the terrain work, and the various styles in scenery themes. Great custom models and buildings, very funny and nice to watch. A beautiful idea, very well realized. It's the track that leave me short of stating this one amazing: since a few missing banking in some turns and the high speed, much too high in several areas to really enjoy the stunning scenery. Also, the fact about the second lift hill, we don't get to see all of the great fireworks, and the catwalk which is misplaced, maybe without would have made me feel it much more. I did enjoy the 5KM track, but again, it all went too fast. I also think it's missing a full circle around the good looking airport at the end. Great work from the builder, thank you so much for sharing. Nothing else to say but great work.
Abbittibbi thank you for your feedback! Really helps me alot with my next projects. I agree you miss a lot of the details while you're on the coaster, but the park is downloadable from the workshop to take a free look for yourself and give everything a closer look :)
As stated at the beginning of this video, this was Blubbers' first exploration coaster that he's made ~ there were some constraints within the contest of not being able to use launch coasters, and if I recall when announcing & going over this contest, I remember Johnny saying something about hanging coasters, but that vistas are hard to do, or that perhaps better left with the higher up builders. That said, this being Blubbers' first exploration coaster AND choosing to do a hanging coaster for contest, this was simply superb!!! It was a great concept and I thought he explored the world map great! Blubber, keep your chin up regarding the constructive criticisms, you're an amazing Builder!
This coaster is a beautiful display piece, but there's not a lot of immersion into the different places. I feel like it could have been a lot better, though it's still an impressive coaster.
B3artastic thank you mate! Im also a bit confused what that other guy meant, unless he is referring to the workshop items i used. But the whole landscaping and decorating of the map was done by me, and also the built of the coaster ofcourse
The scenery is great, which is why unfortunately I think the speed actually takes away from the exploration aspect a bit. You don't have time to actually get a look at most of the stuff you're passing when you're riding the coaster
Casey Baker yeah i agree on that. To enjoy the map to its fullest you would need to download the map for yourself and have a closer look to everything ;)
Impressed! It's a bit fast in places. Like the work on the landmarks, and the Star ferry. Good to spot Area 51 in the USA. Maybe you could have gone over the aircraft carrier too. Some of the planes look a bit odd, with no tailplanes. But being an aircraft spotter, that's just a nit pic of mine.
@@blubber8961 No problem, I took several tries to get the end of my flying coaster right. And it still has some sharp turns. So I know it can be hard. I'm blowupdragon on steam.
loved the idea ! it looks awesome from above, really thought at first glance this is the winner ! but I am missing the experience in the coaster, to fast, banks and inversions makes you miss the important scenery .
The coaster is too fast. I can't appreciate the amazing landscape at that speed. The coaster has some good moments, but making it slower would also allow for more interesting turns through the landscape.

Truly stunning! Beautiful coaster and smooth experience along with all the gorgeous terrain, they hit all the spots perfectly and some really fun landmarks!
as awesome the terrain and scenery work was, as uninspired was the coaster. sorry, it's somehow hard to believe that a guy who's able to make such a beautiful and detailed mini-world wasn't capable to layout a coaster design showcasing at least some good vistas to raise immersion. even a track ride would have been a better decision than this.
Hos i have to admit coaster building isnt my strongest point and this was actually 1 of the first i made. I tried my best with the coaster but my main focus here was the terrain
Blubber, good thing is you still have the lovely map. you can try different coasters any time you want. I'd recommend to use a launched coaster and rather keep it flat during the entire ride, with only exceptions where a bird's eye view is rewarding (for example each time you enter or leave a contintent - present a view of that part of the map - and at the end of the ride to first time present a view of the entire scenery), with many up and downs (over your hills and mountains, not much higher) and twists and turns and not as straight as your try. :)
