If you remember the game name is yegdrasel? It's essentially the world tree and those items are made from it's fallen branches and it is said to be able to destroy the world

And that's Momonga's guild is considered one of the strongest is because they were able to keep a lot of these items

You need the context of why it is so sad, you will see in the real world of Satouro that it is the year 2138, the world is in decline, there is no food, there are no plants, it is so contaminated that in order to leave You have to put on a radiation suit, why is it important because unlike all the other isekais protagonists, Ainz was not a geek but rather worked just like all the others Supreme beings who were not children but functional lords of society. It is not that Satouro wanted to be playing all day but that for all people the game was the way to avoid In reality, the example is blue planet, which Ainz mentions in chapter 2, saying that if he had been transported, he is the one the world would love the most since his dream was to see a real tree, that's why In the game he loved seeing the plants in the game etc.When Ainz says that Nazarick is his world, he is not lying, it was everything for him and his friends, due to different things, they could no longer continue.
Yes, he did kill them because he didn't want them to report back on anything that happened during the retrieval of Shalltear. The other Adventurers were basically an information liability.
Edit: Pandora's actor was made when Momonga was younger. At this time he had a bit of an obsession with WW2 Germany which lead to the creation of Pandora's Actor. He eventually grew out of this phase and kept Pandora's Actor hidden in the treasury. It is also worth noting that most of the other guardians in the novels are jealous of him since their creators left while Momonga stayed.
In the LN it's much more detailed, they ride to the forest, make comments on Hamsuke, Nabe's golem horse, etc. They describe their leader's flaws with his temper. When they reach the forest, Albedo reveal herself and hunts them down with Mare. Ainz did warn them to stay home, so they couldn't know he was undead and his link to Shalltear.

Shaltier was created to be as battle efficient as possible, she is a a true specialist in battles. That's why she is the guardian of the first 3 floors of Nazarick. And she is specially designed to counter Momonga because her creator and (Peroronchino) and Momonga where good friends, so he created her like this to taunt Momonga (friendly bander :) )
Super tier magic is above 10th level, like magic that surpasses all expectations, but still magic within the game
World items on the other hand are exactly what you said. Admin items. They overwrite game rules exactly as an admin in a game can. Without following game principles and rules. They are the rarest and most difficult artifacts to obtain :)
Which you wouldn't know looking at Ainz who just waltzes into his vault with a laundry list of world items he wants pulled out and, y'know, is a frickin' walking world item himself (his orb). It's crazy what a flex that is in context.

This post is made in the spirit of fun discussion. It contains no spoilers to the animated series.
So, now that the show brought up World Items, let’s do a brief overview of them. Note: we will *NOT* talk too much about them, because a lot of the info known about world items involves spoilers. Even if certain facts about world items in the New World have only been mentioned in the novels up to this point, there is a good chance those facts will come into play in the final seasons of Overlord, so I urge the comment section to exercise caution in any discussions. This comment is made solely to give the idea of what world items are capable of.
There is a lot of lore to the back story, most of which doesn’t matter, so let’s just summarize: world items allow players an insane level of power in the game, so much so that they could even change the game world and the game mechanics for everyone who played. There were 200 world items, though not all had been discovered because they were extremely well hidden. Some were one-time only use, meaning you would have to find it again if you wanted to use it twice. A player or guild who found one went to great lengths to hide the fact, because they would be a huge target to every other player looking to steal it.
When the guild Ainz Ooal Gown was forming, only 50 items were known about by the players. Info about them was only known because of spying, espionage and leaks by players who were quitting the game. The only way to protect against a world item’s effect is to either, A.) Have another world item in your possession, or, B.) Be changed to a very specific unique job class that could protect against it. The guild was protected by attacks from other players using world items because they stored a world item in their base.
Of the 200 world items, there were 20, simply called “The Twenty”, that were considered so powerful that they could totally break the game. The guild staff that Ainz carries is not a world item, because it was created by the players in his guild. However, it was made by combining numerous God Tier level items, so it’s power is comparable to a world item.
So let’s look at a few examples of world items. Remember, we will not discuss any world items that could be linked to info that ends up being spoiler.
*Five Elements Overcoming:* (one of the twenty). Has the power to let a player request that the developers change the game’s magic system.
*Ouroboros:* (one of the twenty). Has the power to let a player request that the developers change numerous mechanics of the game, even beyond what Five Elements Overcoming can.
*World Savior:* (one of the twenty). A club that is actually very weak at the start. But can be continuously powered up with use. Its power level could become so high that it could defeat the entire combined strength of all of Ainz Ooal Gown’s members.
*Longinous:* (one of the twenty). Its user can sacrifice his own existence to remove ANY target from existence as well. No resurrection magics could restore the user’s data, ever, (except possibly by another world item). Note: if someone used it on an NPC in the Tomb of Nazarick, the NPC would be destroyed and the tomb’s maximum allowed NPC level would drop. Further note: guilds with a large enough base were allowed to create NPCs with a total combined level of 700, (with max per NPC being 100). However, you could increase the maximum allowed level with cash shop items, a world item, or special quests the guild leader had to complete. Since every Ainz Ooal Gown member was required to have a job IRL, it’s implied they bought lots of cash shop upgrades. The extremely high NPC maximum level in Nazarick is a special feature of the guild’s home base, and one of the reasons their base remained undefeated by raids.
*Unknown Item:* Allows the user to turn himself into a World Level Enemy, enemies that level break and are considered a threat to the whole world of the game. A champion in the realm of Musplheim used it to become one of Lords of the Seven Deadly Sins, considered some of the most extreme enemies of the game. It made him so powerful he could fight 30 max level players evenly.
*Throne of Kings:* The throne that Ainz sits on when acting as the Overlord. Located on the 10th floor of Nazarick. This is probably the world item that defends the tomb from other world item attacks and even prevents enemy information magics from spying inside. When sat on, it provides the user an unknown buff, and also allows the user to monitor the stats and situations of all of his allies within the tomb. This is why you often see Ainz sitting on the throne when he is studying the NPC charts and stat lists.

World Items and Super Tier Magic are 2 different systems...
so in simpler terms... Items are ranked just like any other MMO would... like Uncommon, Rare, Epic or Legendary rank items... in Yggdrasil the order goes like this -> Low, Medium, High, Top, Legacy, Relic, Legendary, Divine and finally World Level
IIRC Nazarick has 11 World Items out of the few that are actually known making them the Guild with the Highest Number of World items in Yggdrasil...
Now for the Magic System... its very simple ... 1st tier being the lowest tier and 11th tier being the highest... Note that 0th tier magic exists but only in the "New World" and it did not exist in Yggdrasil... now you might be asking .. isnt 10th tier the highest? nahh.. 11th tier is just Super Tier Magic .. what differentiates 0th-10th tier magic from Super Tier Magic is that normal magic u need MP or more commonly known as Mana to Cast..meaning u can spam it whenever its of Cooldown and you have Mana to cast it... its also pretty quick to cast... Super Tier Magic however isnt like the normal tier magic because it does not require Mana to cast but EXP.. yes.. the EXP you grind by killing mobs or by doing quests... u cant spam it and its casting time is atrocious... however the results are nothing compared to 10th tier magic... i could go over magic enchantments ( like u probably already noticed in some lines in the anime like "Twin Maximize Magic" or "Triplet" or "Boosted") but in short terms... it allows the magic you are about to cast differentiate slightly from the "Vanilla" spell... Lets imagine you want to cast a simple Fire Ball... u simply say "Fire Ball" and a fire ball appears out of your ass like rainbows do when unicorns fart... however if u say "Twin Fire Ball" ... 2 Fire Balls appear instead of 1... or if said spell normally would cast.. lets say 5 fire balls.. Twin Fire Ball would cast 10 instead... or if u want a spell to Deal its Maximum amount of damage.. since spells have ranges in terms of damage .. like a fire ball dealing between 75-100 damage... by saying Maximize Fire ball it would cast said fire ball at 100 damage always...
@@quantumphayer One edit: the Twin/Triplet enhancements only work on spells that normally create only one object/projectile, so it would not work on your Quint Fire Ball spell (or, to use a D&D example, Meteor Swarm) as they normally create more than one projectile, nor would it work on a spell that does not create an object/projectile, like Grasp Heart or Negative Burst.

I have a question about the world Items. Are there more than one specific world item? Like for example could multiple guilds have an Ouroboros? Or is there only 1 Ouroboros item in the game/server?
Only one. According to the lore, they were made from the remains of the leaves on the World Tree Yggdrasil after a dragon ate all the rest. So world items are unique.

I think touch me was the strongest in the guild right? Or on of the top 3 at least. Momonga is like top 5 strongest just because of the amount of spells he knows.
SPOILERS LUKE DONT READ touch me was one of the champions on the game meaning he is one of the best player in all yggdrasil in the guild he was the "strongest" but that is also kinda difficult to say when the creator of demiurge had one of the most destructive spells @@GabrielRojasAhumada

Touch Me was World Champion class, which is a class only people who won a specific PvP tournament could take levels in, and only 1 person in each server/world of Yggdrasil could earn this title. A cross-server tournament of these World Champions was held, and Touch Me came in 3rd (I think), making him the 3rd strongest player IN THE WHOLE GAME.

Quick details on missing informations or confused bits!
- The Gardian of the treasury is Pandora's Actor (PA). Yuri is the Pleaides Maid, 2nd in command & Dullahan race.
Background informations on World Level Items (WI):
- There were 200 World Items back in Yggdrasil.
- Each Leaf on the Tree represents a World, and each World was associated with a World Item. So, each of the 200 World Items has the power of a World behind it.
- When Ainz was talking about the Twenty (20), he was referencing a specific category of those 200 World Items. Those are the ''Strongest'', so strong in fact, that they are One-use items only. He's implying that one of those in the possession of Nazarick could free Shalltear from her mind control.
- Ainz is afraid to lose a One-use trump card, now that he knows there is other World Items in the New World. Therefore, he prefers to fight Shalltear, and resurrect her afterwards as an NPC.
- Nazarick has 11 World Items in total, the most of any Guild back in Yggdrasil. At least one of them is a Twenty. The Guild that had the 2nd most World Items had 3.
- World Items are Absolute in power (Game breaking), so above the effects of Super or 10th Tier magic. This is why the ring failed to dispel the mind control on Shalltear.
- The only way to protect yourself from the effect of a World Item, is to yourself own/equip a World Item. This is why Ainz goes to the treasury and takes them out, to give them to the Gardians, his strongest NPCs (most are Lv. 100 like himself). If Shalltear had worn a World Item when she was attacked, the mind control effect would have failed.
Shalltear's Strength: Of all the Guardians, Shalltear is considered the strongest fighter. That's mostly why she is guarding 3 floors by herself. She was created by Peroroncino. She's optimized for combat, and uses holy magic, which is very effective against the undead. When you compare her build to Ainz, which didn't pursue pure power, but instead went for a ''Death roleplay'' build, there's no doubt he's weaker.
When Albedo speaks about Pandora's Actor (or PA as the comunity also calls him) being one of the smartest people in Nazarik, she means aside from him Demiurge (a millitary expert) and herself who manages "Human" resources. PA is actually in charge of coin expenditure and keeping magic items in check (he loves to polish and take care of them as Ainz programed him to)
Also, about the "strongest" part, Shalltear is the strongest 1v1 NPC, while Albedo is the tankiest NPC, but her strenght is lower. There also exist a rock paper scisor power relationship between Albedo (Tank), Sebas (ballanced fighter) and Cocytus (The big blue bug, a perfect glass cannon)
SPOILER(?): there also exists Rubedo who supposedly is even more "powerfull", whether or not that directly connects to fighting strengh I'm not sure though. It is highly speculated that she was created using a world-item. (Though she is very much a mystery even in the LNs)
the strongest entity in nazarick is albedo younger sister Rubedo.. be it 1 vs 1 or Raid battle rubedo can wipe them all

29:31 I don't think it's ever explicitly stated in the anime, but Albedo is actually speced as a tank. She has the highest HP and defense of all the guardians. Shalltear, on the other hand, is a DPS monster. A fight between them would basically be a stalemate.
well no, Shalltear would win, Albedo doesn't have the means to put Shalltear down, nor does Shalltear, so it becomes a battle of attrition, and on top of being an undead that doesn't require sleep, Shalltear has life-steal, Albedo is possibly the worst matchup against Shalltear among the guardians (excepting Victim of course), which I would imagine irks her to no end
pretty sure Shalltear mentioned she would beat any other guardians in a 1v1, the book they talked about Cocyutus, Albedo and Sebas being rock paper scissors against each other but Shalltear could almost/maybe 1v3 them
@@chrisk3127if I am remembering it correctly, Cocyutus has the knowledge to use all of the supreme being’s weapons, so if he got the permission from Aniz, he may got a chance to win Shalltear?
@Daniel-vc3ny I dont remember if he has skills for non swords? only one he would probably want to use is his creators unless Ainz ordered him, pretty sure shalltear would demolish him still all she needs to do is stay at range and hit him with magic
@@chrisk3127 Just googled and I am right about that, Cocyutus’s creator did teach him how to use all of the supreme being’s weapon. Shalltear is still the strongest 1on1 fighter, but I do think that with the help of those world items, Cocyutus could give her a great fight.
Oh yes...I was also shocked when I saw Tabula Smaragdina. A very interesting character with strange hobbies. As a mage, by the way, he was stronger than Momonga. His race (apparently) were a mindflayer.

Basic explanation of the magic system:
Tear magic: This ranges from 1 to 10 and consume mana.
Super tear magic: It does not consume magic and is far more powerful. However the acquisition of such spells is more limited. Super tear also takes a long time to cast and can be interrupted in battle. Usually the caster needs a tank or team to guard them while casting. When the super tear is either cast or interrupted, the spell can't be cast again that day. There are exceptions and situations to change all this, but I'm sticking to the basics.
World items: These are items with game breaking effects. Usually one use items. Basically nukes of last resort. In the Ygdrasil game, there existed 200, yet during the game's whole run time, only 50 were ever discovered. As an example, here are two that aren't shown in the series. A world item that permanently deletes your own character along with any one other player character or NPC you chose in the entire game. No resurrection. No respawn. Just gone. Another item caused a world wide attack on all evil NPCs and Players in the game.
Ainz played the game for a long time, he created Pandora's Actor when he was younger and is kind of embarrassed by the way he acts now since it reflects on what he thought was cool back then. He kind of acts like the usual trope you may be familiar with... 'you dare unseal the power of my demonic eye?!' lol
Albedo got emotional because Ainz so casually stated he would put a statue of himself in the MAUSOLEUM which would usually mean he expected to leave them. To him it was just finishing his project, but to her and the other denizens of Nazarick that is tantamount to their entire worlds crumbling apart around them.... Ainz is all they have.
Albedo is pretty strong, but she's a tank class.

5:05 for some reason blue or Silver hair is often translated from Japanese to English as "blond" in anime its a bit weird and Im not sure why.
5:49 The silver-haired older man at the head of the table is the "Guild Master" of E-rantel so he mostly decides the ranking, though for going above Mythril, He might need to notify a higher authority as well ( unsure on that point)

Shalltear creator made her for pure combat. Minmaxed her build and stats. Everyone else made their guardians with a role play idea in mind and their builds reflects that. They're all strong but Shalltear was made for purely pvp.

Yeah she defended the first three floors alone, and was only defeated by multi-player parties on like 2 occasions. Going solo would be madness.
As a former leader and creator of a guild called "Fluffy Stuffies" this episode hit me right in the feels when it first aired. We founded the guild when us 3 founding members suddenly ran across each other farming sheep for mats and decided to team up to make it more fun (hence the guild name). Over the years we grew from 3 to 58 members. Those happy days playing and hanging around with my mates are memories I will never forget. As was the sad day I decided to disband the guild as the last active member. Everyone else had already moved on to other games. I just could never bring myself to recruit new people because those we had lost over the years could never be replaced 😢
a little bit about the strength of the NPCs: Albedo has the highest defense, and there is also Cocytus - he has the highest physical attack, and there is Sebas Tian, he has these characteristics much lower, but he breaks through armor with it. They can be said to be like rock paper scissors.But Shalltear has such a set of abilities and items that she is strong against a crowd of enemies, and at the same time can cope 1 on 1 with a strong opponent
About Shalltear's mind control, and I don't know if it's considered a spoiler or not (if it is, it's nothing big anyway) or if it is even explained later, but the party that encountered her started doing the mind control spell with a world item but Shalltear stabbed the one doing it so the spell was not completed while the others fled.
And also they don't have to be a player to use world items; do you remember the talent Nphirea had that allows him to use any magic item despite being very weak himself?
Ainz needs to deal with Shaltear personally. He doesn't need people getting in the way, and he doesn't want people to know she's one of his subordinates! So yes he killed them!
Also that dude was a jealous dick looking to steal the glory away from Ainz the first chance he could get.
Read the novel, the reality of their world will tell you why Momonga and his friends characters look the way they look and why their creations are made in such a way. I find the fantasy world that Momonga has been put in is far more a better living condition than the real world he used to be in...
There were several players in the guild that were top tier pkers. Momonga just had a very specific almost roleplay build that gives him a massive variety of spells, and high defense. I think the spell limit was like 300 normally but he has over 800 through his build.

The scene in the mausuleum always gets me, to the NPC, all their gods were gone, now Albedo even have witnessed their tombs, she is in shock realizing how godless they really are, and then, Ainz jokingly talks about his future grave... Albedo couldnt take it anymore, neighter would any of the NPCs, is truly tragic how hopeless she felt at the posibility of her last god abandoned them, even if it is for a greater good or natural cause and he seems fine with it, being completly departed from their creators truly hurts them.
As a long time gamer you really can't help but get a little emotional about the comrades that slowly disappear, there was a day when all the boys said "talk to ya later, see ya tomorrow, etc." and then you never end up talking to them again. I really do miss those those good old days.
Since I didn't see anyone else explaining it, I will add that the ring that Ains uses, takes great inspiration from D&D's ring of 3 wishes. YOu have 3 wishes that can be fulfilled, with certain limitations.
It's one of the most precious items for non legendary characters, under level 20

The stuff about the strongest NPC changed a lot in the beginning, now most of the stronger fighter NPCs are in a rock paper scissor relationship and the clear strongest one is Albedo and Nigredo's (Albedo's older sister) younger sister Rubedo who the guild members created in collective effort to create something so broken in the game that it can beat TouchMe in a 1v1 without being a raid boss.
No spoilers but about the guardian's strength, it's like in a PVP game with classes
Albeto is a tank, very resistance and almost immune to effects so she can keep protecting whoever is left if the enemy reach the last floor
Cocytus is a DPS of the highest caliber, with 4 arms he can deal insane amounts of damage very quickly
Sebas is a hybrid with good defense and attack
Shalltears is a Combat Optimized class, she can deal a lot of damage, while being a tank, also has life steal, so she can keep fight for a long time.
Aura is a ranger with her Pets and have scout and ranged skills
Mare is a AOE Mage, with some control magic, from simple shield to earthquakes and tornados
Ainz just like Demiurge is a Summoner, Most of his better spells are summoning magic. Unless Ainz uses EXP to summon things of lvl 90 most things would be useless against shalltears that can heal by attacking his minions.

actually even though Ains Ooal Gown was not the strongest guild in the game they were the one with the most world items (11 if i remember correctly and the second guild had like 3) when he refers to the Twenty he refers to the 20 most powerful world items in the game, so powerful that having one of them immediately made others scared of you (one of them could even erase a character (even a player) in exchange of erasing the character of the player using it, another could also change the whole game by asking the devs, they would have to put it in if it wasn't destroying the whole game ofc) and they also have a limit number of 1 uses, after that it would disappear and reappear elsewhere in the game so using it even though it was powerful was equal to give it to someone else so people were actually really careful with those.
Other world items doesn't necessarily have a limited number of use but were also way weaker (but still strong as you saw with shalltear's mind control)

Pandoras Actor, the guy in Military outfit, is Ainz creation from past when he saw WW2 Germany as a strong country that all other European countries, their colonies as well as U.S.A had to join together to defeat. Only after Pandoras Actors creation he learned dark side of WW2 Germany and what they did, this dark side was censored out when it was first teached in school thus leaving impression of Military Strength that was highly looked up to.

World Items are The broken items. As an example that doesn't show up besides mentions, Longinus is a World Item that completely erases the target from existence, at the cost of also erasing the user. When it was a game it literally deleted both people's characters, and also they cannot just make a new one, they are off the game forever unless a different one potentially is used to bring them back.

To help understand the spells:
Normal spells range from level 1 - 10.
Above those are Super tier, which cost no magic but have a massive cooldown period, usually long enough that most battles end before a second can be cast, and the cooldown... is for all players in range, not just the caster, preventing Super spells from being spammed. In most cases though, most Super spells have large casting times.
World items are super rare items of which there are limited amounts. And those? They're the definition of admin privileges. The only defense against a world item is to have another world item currently in possession of the player being targetted.

That’s why pandoras actor was locked in the vault so people wouldn’t see him.
World items are literally game breakers. I can’t remember all of them, but I think the one used on shaltear was an item that can be used to control anyone in the game. Some others do stuff like like erase an area of the world, a book that can be used to make a new spell, a scroll that can lock a person into a maze like dimension, Gauntlets that steal XP and give XP, and more.
World Items are basically admin cheat codes that trump everything except other World Items. Shalltear has immunity to mind control and the World Item that was used on her trumped that complete immunity. So there are items that can basically oneshot some of Nazaricks elites.
Super tier is basically just the same as 10th tier magic but they have some ritualistic methods of activation, so they can't be spammed.

Among the melee guardians, there's a sort of rock-paper-scissors dynamic.
Though Albedo is the Overseer, she specializes in defense, however, She can be overwhelmed by Cocytus who boasts the highest burst DPS among the guardians. Problem is, he is a glass cannon, so Sebas who is a middle ground between Albedo's defense and Cocytus' offense is more likely to defeat him.
“Even among the Guardians of Nazarick, those three can be considered the top among the warrior classes. Cocytus has the advantage against Albedo, but not against Sebas. Sebas is strong against Cocytus, but not against Albedo. Albedo can probably win against Sebas, but not against Cocytus. And his request for training truly reflects Cocytus’ personality… Though, can we really become stronger? If they are strong because their data says they are, doesn’t that mean their limits are also decided by their data?”
Shalltear sits outside of this triangle, which is why she was tasked with being the Guardian of the first 3 floors
The true reason that Ainz persists to fight Shalltear by himself is he doesn't want to see the children fight, or even kill each other.
World level items are essentially game breaking items. They are absolute and nothing is above them. There are 20 world level items and Ainz Ooal Gown holds the most of any guild in Yggdrasil at 11 items. As an example, some world level items could literally force the game devs to change something in the game.
So in this case, the mind control over shalltear is already set. The only thing is, she wasn't given a command, which is why she's motionless. Aside from using a world tier item himself, which he doesn't want to do because its a one time use item and he doesn't know what else is out there, his only option is to fight shalltear
Fun fact: Ains (Momonga) being the Lich race, was one of the most NORMAL looking or the founding members of the guild. One of the requirements was being a non-human, and even normal-looking ones like Touch Me were actually under cosmetic spells or armor to have that appearance. Momonga used his base body shape andd looked normal, but Bukubuku was a slime (or the top tier version of that race) and Peroroncino was a bird person resembling Horus from egyptian mythology.

I know this is a bit late, and I didn't look too far down to see if it was already mentioned, but remember how one of Ains Ooal Gown's rules for joining was "A Non-Human Race." All the 41 members of the guild were non-human characters, and especially since we're considering that all these players were maximum level by the time they quit the game, a lot of them would have likely acquired very diverse, and unique, item and equipment sets that would have made their character appearances even more outlandish and insane.
Tiers 1-10 only usually require mana to cast. Super tier magic usually has other conditions, such as experience for "wish upon a star." I believe it is mentioned later, but that makes it more similar to a skill then a magic spell
If you rewatch the battle scene from the previous ep, Shalltear had killed the person who tried to mind control her, so the mind control ended up incomplete. As you said, she's like an RC without a remote.
That said, I'm hyped for the next ep, it's one of my favourites from the Overlord anime.
The reason Ainz is talking about defeating Shalltear, rather than saving her, is because there are almost no ways to fix the mind control at this point. Shalltear has been brainwashed using a World Item. The guild Ainz Ooal Gown actually hoarded such items and they have a good supply of them. The reason Ainz is getting a bunch of them from the treasury is because someone carrying a world item is immune to the effects of another world item. The red orb in Ainz's torso is actually a world item (although it's effect is unknown), as is the throne in the throne room. He's giving the other guardians world items so they don't fall under the same effect later on.
He did speak of an item that could undo the mind control. That item is a special kind of world item, one of "the Twenty". These Twenty are so powerful that they disappear after a single use, and would have to be found again. In the game, these items let you do stuff like request the developers to make a change to the magic system and stuff like that. They hold the power to make changes to what is essentially the fabric of reality. Ainz has two of these items, and at least one of them should be able to handle Shalltear's mind control. However, being one of the Twenty, it would disappear if Ainz used it now. He's unwilling to use such an enormous trump card at this time, especially since he just realized that there are other factions out there with world items.
Instead, he intends to kill Shalltear and rely on being able to revive her in Nazarick to get rid of the mind control.
9:20 Ainz warned him not to come along or he would most definitely die. And with his comment to Mare, it can almost be assumed that, Ainz prepared for the worst thinking they might be involved with Shalltear going rogue, but clearly that was overkill with how quickly they were defeated off-screen.
Not a spoiler, but basically:
1. Tier Magic (1st to 10th) - this is the "normal" magic used in the game and the new world
2. Super Tier Magic - More akin to a special skill or ability than a spell, usually obtained by special means (like meeting hidden conditions, building a certain class to a specific level, winning a tournament). It's extremely powerful, but usually has a big downside like, extremely long cast time, long cooldowns (days), consumes the users EXP, etc. Some items allow the user to use specific Super Tier Magic (like the ring in the episode).
3. World Class Item - They are the most powerful items in the game. They can bypass any sort of immunity/protection and cannot be overridden by any means, the only way to defend against them is to have another World Item equipped.
4. The Twenty - 20 world items so powerful that they disappear with one use. These are literally admin items. Some examples of what some of them can do: make a personal request to the devs to change some mechanic of the game, make a request to the devs to change part of the magic system of the game, delete the target player (literally delete their account, and since the game has a VERY strict one person one account rule, the player is effectively banned from the game).
Also unmentioned in the power scaling is that Mare Bella Fiore is the strongest spell caster among the NPCs of Nazarik. While his sister Aura is the strongest monster tamer among the NPCs. So "strongest" is a relative term in relation to the guardians. They are each kind of specialized in very different ways. In terms of one on many or one on one combat among the guardians Shalltear is a high DPS build with "berzerker" like blood lust traits that activate the more she kills. That being said, level cap for Yggdrasil was 100, and each of the guardian NPCs are that level.
The Pleiades battle maids are roughly between levels 55-70, and work in concert with their leader Sebas, the level 100 NPC created by Touch Me to guard the last line of defense at the throne room. Each of the 41 Ainz Ooal Gown guild members was also eventually a high-level player in a guild that didn't shy away from PvP gameplay. They were not the top guild in Yggdrasil, but they were a well-known and highly ranked guild in the game.
That being said, Pandora's Actor's race is a doppelganger, and as such has the ability to mimic any of the 41 guild players at 80% of their level. This along with his high intelligence makes him the most versatile of the guardians in terms of skills available, making him a good counter for anyone by picking a build which exploits the weaknesses of a particular opponent.
About the spell system in Yggdrasil, the game was known for its extensive variety of spells and skills, some only available by taking certain classes or class combinations which created synergies with each other. Each class has only 5-10 levels in a particular class so multi-class builds are a must as player reach higher levels. In terms of combined class levels, a level 1-9 player can only use level 1 spells, a level 10-19 can use level 2 spells, etc.. Of course this means that since most people in the new world think level 3 spells is the highest level most people will ever learn to cast then most people in their world are below level 30. The "realm of heroes" mentioned by Clementine is people who have exceeded level 35.
This means to use level 10 spells, a player has to be max level 100. Super-tier spells are spells more powerful than level 10 spells, but usually have restrictions on use such as long cast time, costing experience points to use, and other requirements such as minimum level. Certain class build combinations granted skills or gatcha items can reduce or eliminate these restrictions though. As a cash shop king, Momonga/Ainz was stocked up on several of these gatcha items which is where he'd got the 500 yen gatcha item Horn of the Goblin General than Enri used to summon the goblins who now serve under her. However, many of these odd specialty items had their own restrictions/hidden conditions as well.
Shalltear was designed to be the strongest Guardian, someone who could fight groups of max leveled players. She has a multitude of high damage abilities a unique class, extreme mobility and items that are designed to deal massive damage while buffing herself. She was made to be the "Gatekeeper of Hell" effectively halting any Guild Raid long enough for Nazarick to mobilize and throughout the game she was only confirmed to have actually died once to a Large raid group of players

Shallatear is exactly that. While the game existed momonga had a built made for roleplaying, he wasn't even in the top players, he was only able to fight because he had extremely good game knowledge and he was the type of gamer that grinda, grinds, never throws anything away and has spend to much money. Shalltear was made with a hardcore built, of she had perfect equipment then she would be in the top but even without perfect equipment she is very strong and because of how she was made, she is very good against ainz. To answer the question of who was the one that had the world item: lets just say ainz isn't the first player in this world but here is a minir spoiler, he is the only one in this period of time, as far as we know

They wanted to go there and collect evidence along with Momon.
Which means they could contradict the story he make about what happened. So Ainz did the easy thing and removed the potential contradiction (rather than just having used memory alteration)
Yeah everyone that still play multiplayer and online games with friends , at least well into their 30s , can relate to the bittersweet feelings and sadness that Momonga experiences . We all got at least a friend or two that drifted apart "because well life and responsibilities happen" , or some we even got mad at .

Fun fact #4: Albedo is the highest ranking but not the strongest combat-wise, as that depends heavily on the skills and distribution of stat points. Shalltear is one of the few that was specifically made to be absolutely unwinnable in battle, as much as NPCs can be made to be. Albedo being an administrator, didn't have to have so many battle skills to face invading players, since she only lived already at the centermost parts of the dungeon, where other actual guild players would also be.

Ainz killed them because they got too close to Shalltear and would see what she really is, her current state, and Ainz’d true form as he tried to rescue her. He was eliminating witnesses to protect his own secrets.
What you got to understand about Shalltear is that her creator was a powerbuilder. In other words, she was made to be BUSTED. Also, the next two episodes are best watched back to back 😊

Which if you aren't aware are a humanoid creature from Irish mythology with a detached head. Most often depicted as a man in black clothing or armor riding a midnight horse while carrying their own head under one arm. Now I say creature since the origin is a little weird. Some tales claim they are an undead corpse. Some say they're a restless spirits. While others state them to be a type of dark fairy. Also yes. This is where the headless horsemen of Sleepy Hollow comes from.

1- The guild master decide if someone climb multiple ranks at once, but otherwise, there are rules in places to follow. If you follow them and are able to complete multiple quests available to your rank, you'll be able to pass a test to see if you can advance in rank. Ains skipped the test because of his achievement proving he was at least of mythril caliber. That was what the guild master decided.
2- There is a reason he killed that guy and his team. He take the situation with Shalltear extremely seriously. What does it mean? If he want to take it as seriously as it's needed, even if only for the moral side of that matter (he see Shalltear as the child of one of his dear friend) he will have to face her under his overlord form, not his knight form. If those guys saw that, got out alive and spread the news, that would have ruined every plans and machination he had going. That's why he killed them like that.

3- Ok, I'll explain this. Super rank magic is over the rank 10 magic. It is extremely powerful, but it have it's drawbacks. The most important one is the extremely long cat time, something that make it virtualy impossible to use during a fight unless you use it as an oppening strike after an ambush. There is also the fact you can only use them a certain amount of times a day (usualy once) and can't get them back untill the next day no matter what. That ring let him use one of those spells 3 times before breaking, without cooldown and cast time. It did cost him a very large amount of money to get it, but it is extremely powerful.
4- Ok, something really badly explained in the anime is how world items works. Those are the most powerful items in the whole games. They virtualy give you some admin power when you use them. Somethings they could do are, for example, reating a semi-- cplan of existence in a part of the world where nothing can enter or exist and only those present at the moment of creation, friend and foes alike, will be inside, the only way to break that semi-plan would be to find and kill the item's owner. 2- A weapon that let you leech life for more than the damage dealt, passing through any protection and totaly indestructible who will return to your hand if you throw it as long as no one is able to catch it. 3- Like in this case, take an undead creature of any level under your control, bypassing their natural imunity to every mental effect possible. When you take that into account, Ains discovering that those items also exist in the new world explain his state of panic and rage and why he increase the security level to that amount. After all, there is no way of knowing if the opponent have any other world items.

To put it in an easy to understand comparison, there are many katanas, but very few of them were made by Masamune himself. Those are known to be among the best katanas ever forged. HE would be refering to a Masamune katana here.
8- Here I disagree with you. Ains isn't too hard on himself at all when he explain why he has doubt about him being fit as a ruler. He knew world items existed, he knew how powerful they are and he is actively looking for other players. Him not taking into account those players could have world items is a huge problem. It's like if a doctor forgot heart attacks can be a thing. It's like if a president forgot their opponent might have nuclear weapon or, to be more personal, you forgetting your kid could choke when he/she was still a toddler, all of them having the possibility to lead to extreme damage and death. It's that level of screw up. He does have to learn from this and take it very seriously, something he does. It's not being too hard on himself, it's re-evaluating himself because of such an important mistake. Oh, and before you or anyone takes it personnaly, it was an example, I'm not saying you did so, it's just so you can understand the importance of the mistake he made.
9- Ok, once again, something not explained in the anime. Albedo isn't the strongest in Nazarik after Ains. The strongest is one of her sister we won't see in the anime called Rubedo. She is such a monster she would have been able to take 3 of the players at once and win. But even if we take the floor gardians, she isn't the strongest. There is a trinity amoung them. Albedo is a tank, an amazing one. Shalltear is a warrior, once again an amasing one. Demiurge would be a, an amazing one. Normaly, in a one-on-one, Shalltear beat Demiurge who beat Albedo who beat Shalltear. The thing is, that's not entirely true. They have the advantage, but there is always teh possibility they will lose. All three of them are very powerful, so one mistake in that fight means a very high amount of damage taken, which could mean death. Albedo can't be certain she won't die against Shalltear, as she can't be certain Shalltear won't be able to kill at least on of them before dying. At that level of strenght, the smallest mistake means an awful lot. And... NO, Yuri isn't on the same level of strength. The floor guardian are at level 100, all of them. The pleiades are around lvl 80 or 90. Yuri is at that level. She is strong, but not as much as the floor guardians.
To answer your question about who's the strongest: the strongest npc is Rubedo(hasn't appeared in the series yet we only know she exists) she is Albedo's sister and was created using a world item; The 2nd strongest npc and strongest floor guardian is Shalltear and she is tied in strength with Gargantua(giant golem) but since Shalltear is sentient with a will of her own is likely stronger thanks to that; and after that we don't really know for sure but Mare is likely 3rd with Sebas being 4th. Albedo is the overseer of the guardians but is overall a weaker floor guardian as she is a tank, which is why she can't win against a dps like Shalltear.
