Also take into consideration that there still isn't too many games. There are few exceptional games like Onward or H3 but other then that not to many choices. It still is a new gaming frontier.

Really cool video! The music made it even more intense. And great advertisement for VR in general and Onward in particular. Most vids don't do VR justice because immersion can't be captured by a video, but the suspense and action shown by this video worked very well to give a glimpse of what Onward is about.
Damn. Clearing the rooms in pitch darkness with the sound of gunfire outside gave me chills. The lighting in the interior of the house was phenomenal and looks really immersive.

i know i’m a bit late on this, but when your playing assault or uplink, i would advise the play competitive and not casual. i’ve noticed it’s a lot more mature and not a lot of kids, which makes sense. only bad thing about competitive is that most of the people who play in those lobby’s are crazy good lol

When being shot at the black going around your screen means you are taking fire not that you have been hit. If I grey it means you have been hit. If it hit your armour the gray will go away on its own, if not you will hear a heart beat .
One thing I love about the a.i. in onward is that they aren't omniscient. They have to check the room side to side rather than just going into the room already staring into your eyes no matter how high you put the difficulty.
imo the best gun after the weapon manipulation update is the G3A3 because it includes the HK slap and the speed reload. Reloading it is basically gun porn.
So uh, you got a decent bit of stuff wrong, first of all the AK12 has always been in the game, the scopes had always had that variable zoom, the AK’s bolts never locked back, and that’s all I got for now.
Lol thanks. I didn't advertise a locking AK bolt? I just described the manual of arms and highlighted the new mag change option. I'd never used the AK12, new to me then. All good.

@@ControlledPairsGaming You used the word "now" when describing the bolt remaining forward, so that's where the assumptions came from. But it's not an issue. Only issue is how you played Onward as much as you have and never saw the AK12??
@@ControlledPairsGaming You should try using the AK-12 more often. If you put a foregrip on it it's basically a laser beam.

I just got one yesterday, and idky I been holding off so long. I played this game for like 15 mins, and I got teamed up with some good players that mic’d up and gave me a real vr/military sim experience frfr…only 15 mins but goddamn that shit was fun as hell. I’m about to go crazy today, but I can’t wait to see the future of vr frfr

@@shadow8_017 if you play on Quest 2 you get forces the “Potato Setting” as Quest 2 is not as powerful as a PC.

You should try onward 1.7 if you're playing on steam, in co-op the npcs don't spawn mid game instead they all spawn at the start of the round so they can't spawn in areas you've cleared already. The ai is much better the ai also get's smokes, frags, and guns with random attachments that you can pick up.
1.8 the A.I. still gets grenades and etc....

Great video but you got some little details wrong, the AK12 has been in the game for a long time now and didn’t get added this update. Additionally the AK reload has always been "realistic" when it comes to bolt manipulation, the ability to actuate the magazine release with a magazine is the only thing they added to that weapon system
I thought I made the AK reload portion clear. First time I had seen the AK12. Thanks for the comment.

Thankyou for making this video man! I had checked out the update, but didn't know about the variable zoom, and exactly what that HK slap even was XD. I really like this map too- I wonder what the size is compared to snow peak or that desert map (I forget its name)
Only worth it if you're playing as a private group. This is completely alien to the average in-game experience of lobbies filled with kids who scream because the developer got bought by Facebook and downgraded the entire game for it to run on the weak Oculus Quest hardware.
Don't buy the game expecting it to be like this. Either only play singleplayer or have a group.

Onward is a fun game
Just not sure why you kept hanging around on the ground floor of that three floor building. You are too exposed there and there are too many angles that have to be covered. It's always better to try to draw the enemy into a bottleneck like the staircase. If you stay on the third floor with someone covering the stairwell, you can pick the enemy off from the upstairs windows. Just a thought.

I bought it on Oculus but launch it through Steam VR. No difference imo. I'm on RIFT S, though. PCVR just had better graphics and performance all together.

hello is the new 1.8 update a really big downgrade in quality? ive heard its like a completely new game.
Approx how much are we talking to buy a VR system with a gun-type controller? $500-800? Do you need a computer to hook up to?
BasicLly wondering what my overall investment would be. Don’t have a lot of free time but really want to make the best of it. Don’t mind spending money but don’t want to sink a K into something I’ll use 2 hours a week at best.
200 for Quest 2 and about 75-100 for a stock. No PC required, though hooking up your quest 2 to a PC will greatly improve performance and look.
If you like the weapon handling you should try H3VR. The modding community is insane!

You don't know what you're missing. Onward was an awesome game before downpour sold out to Facebook and turned the game into a quest port.

I have zero sympathy for Dante's inability to manage his company and remain profitable. His only option was to sell. And he did. And the game is gone. But at least the spot is open for a real developer to create a great game.

They should add vr legs system that capture your legs movement and deliver it in game for a more realistic experience

Which is a damn shame, because I would love it to at least have hip tracker support so the position of my holster doesn't change depending on how I turn my head...
Foot tracking does nothing to improve immersion. It's more immersive for others to look at you.
@@Roxfox that would require special IK movement and not everyone is going to have access to getting other tracking systems. Dumb idea is dumb.
@@evolicious Nope! You can't even see your own body in the game, it wouldn't have to affect the animation at all. Just an anchor for the inventory UI so it moves relative to the body instead of relative to the head. Zero IK changes needed.
I dislike the HK slapping, it looks tacticool :( I prefer to push it with my thumb as I hold the weapon on ready. Personally I find it more practical. But on my basic training the instructor told me to slap it, I never asked him why and I regret it now. But maybe on MB5 is different, I used G3A4.
