I have a Korat cat. Apparently, someone in my apartment complex moved and left her behind. I fed her a few times and she decided to make my apartment her new home. She is usually very quiet, but if she wants something she becomes very vocal. She is affectionate and likes to jump up on my bed and be petted. And she purrs loudly.
I actually believe that Russian blue cats are originated from Korat cat because King Chulalongkorn of Siam was a good friend to czar Nicholas I of Russia and their royal families had close friendships. Both cats have short hairs which are unlikely belonging to a cold country. Moreover the Russian blues became world-widely known just lately after czar Nicholas I's reign.
From the behavior and picturesI think my cat is a Russian Blue, because he will literally walk past me to get to his favorite person, the first person who fed him since he came to us, even if I’m giving him a full body rub😂

She’s 16 and was diagnosed with kidney disease, which according to her vet, is common for elderly cats. This has caused her to lose weight. All I can do is make sure she eats a wet diet, but not over feed her to avoid vomiting, and make sure she has enough water. The trouble is that she urinates way too much now.
You are correct! She has been my pride and joy and constant companion for over 15 years now! I’ve never been so in love…don’t tell her daddy;). He fell for her even though he’s a dog lover, because she’s so charming, irresistible and enchanting that she cast a love spell upon him. My husband objects if I call her an animal, insisting that she’s a member of the family.
To the original commenter: if you adopted a cat from the pound, then your cat is neither a Russian Blue or a Korat. And Russian Blues don't weigh 15 to 18 pounds, whoever made this video was either drunk, on drugs, or both.

KORATS have Shorter back legs than the front legs.Also KORATS have a bumpy nose not straight like Russian blue are leaner cats.Korats face is more rounded where Russian blue are kinda triangle looking.Also Russia Blues eyes turn up on the corners where KORATS are rounded.Both great cats EXPECIALLY when it's a pure breed.DNA is a available for CATs!
The advice on grooming the Russian Blue is all the things I normally do for any of the cats I've had, regardless of breed. It's simply good cat maintenance.
My korat is a dog that purr’s and meows…loyal to a fault , kitty IQ would be 140+ squirrel like problem solvers. An amazing breed. She will be my last cat and I couldn’t ask for a better companion.

Plz don't buy a cat. A Russian blue had kittens in our shed and we kept her because she didn't have a home. You can find wonderful cats at shelters. I wouldn't take a million $ for my "pretty momma".
@@__-kb9no You get a cat that's been spayed or neutered and had their shots. Vet's normally charge a couple hundred for all that. Nobody should have a pet if they're not going to get that done. Besides that breeders normally charge around a thousand for a Blue Russian. My last cat had been used to breed then they threw her away when she'd had so many kittens her insides were coming out. Her kittens were $2,500 for male $3,000 female.
@@Lovely_Jay22 I had 5 in my shed and wouldn't have known, if my son hadn't seen momma coming and going. They're wonderful cats. Momma (her name) sleeps on my son, sometimes beside but usually on. I didn't know shelters charged more for specific breeds. But as long as it a no kill shelter I don't see how it would hurt.

I rescued 2 feral Russian blues...at least that's what the shelter told me. Now, I'm not sure if they're Russ B or a Korat. Both were hard to gain trust. Also, one has short hair and her sister has long hair. One was extremely sick when we picked them up. A year and change later and lots of work, both are running the asylum! personality wise, they're the complete opposites of each other. I wish I could post a pic
My cat must have korat in him … he behaves exactly like one. Follows me around everywhere, very affectionate, playful, and talkative. Likes walking with leash, tires himself out climbing the trees, and enjoys car rides. But very needy :/ it’s like having a dog in a cat body.

My boy is half blue half korat! His sister died from the neuro disease so I'm having him tested! He's a preemie with bad asthma so is very sensitive to anesthesia! He'll be 8 on the 18th just found out he's half korat not siamese! I got him for free unexpectedly! He and late siblings were all abused for the 1st 5 weeks of life! The night I got him he was dying of flea anemia he had to work hard to get me out of my sleep trance so that I prevented an assailant from coming in on us! We literally saved each other! He's very vocal follows me everywhere sleeps on me! I don't think he's feeling well now? He is so kind to my friends disabled non verbal adult son they have a special bond! Daily I tell him ur my God cat which korats are considered to be and this makes him happy! He looks acts just like a korat!
Not sure if I have a korat or Russian blue. Hard to tell with a kitten. He acts like a kitten. Actually both he and my tabby have crazy similiar personalities. Both are avoiding each other, but not fighting.

They can get along with other pets or animals just make sure to introduce pets slowly and in controlled circumstances to make ensure that they learn to get along together.

I got 2 Russian Blue rescues. Their got double fur and so invest in a good brush for grooming. Very playful and very intelligent.

As long as you provide them their needs. But monitor their weight as well.
