Austin bro you are giving away jewels! Absolutely the right advice! If you think you want to get into these trades go learn from experts! If you think you want to sell coffee … go work at an experts shop… Starbucks is a great place to learn.. if you think you want a burger restaurant…. I would run to McDonalds and learn as much as you can about burgers! Great video dude. Thanks
Totally relate with you on going back into trades. Messed around flipping houses and now back to outdoor services and applying my skills I have learned from real estate
A lot of guys don't take onto account depreciation. If you have a million bucks woth of equipment and the life is about 5,000 hours thats $1,000,000 / 5,000 hours = $200 per hour depreciation. Its the depreciation that gets you in the end doing this long term.
What business license do you have ? I live in Atlanta GA I do not own any equipment, can you please advise what type of business license do I need to apply for ?
Hey brotha, quick question. I’m 22 years old, not much savings, but I have about 4 years of experience on a skid steer, 4 years on an excavator and 3 years front end loader. Very efficient on all. How would you go about starting up with equipment? Skid steer and mini ex with a trailer and truck? Also not too sure how to get financed with something like that, if you have any advice it would be highly appreciated, it’s definitely a lacking service in my area and I know for a fact I’d do well around here. Thank you!
hey man, i would start with a diesel 1 ton truck that can pull a skid steer or mini ex. then, i would focus on getting your first job and plan to rent all your equipment. After you get the job, add the rental cost of your equipment into your estimates I have a bunch of free resources for how to get started here: ownrops.com you can also join the Skool group where I have a bunch of free video trainings on the startup process : www.skool.com/ownr-ops/about
@@theownerop sick man, yeah that definitely sounds like the path I’d like to start down. I have a little over 2 years in marketing and sales as well. When you were talking about your previous experience you sounded just like me 😂 I’ve had my own marketing agency and a few other endeavors, but this has been calling my name for the last year or so. I’ll definitely check out your group too, it sounds right up my alley. Thank you brotha!
@@ShhDweeb rent until you have 1-3 months of backlogged work. you can also pay your rental company to deliver the equipment straight to your job site and add the delivery & pickup fee into your estimates
Those were some interesting goggles, can you tell me about them please. I couldn't tell for sure if that was a hard hat or some other kind of safety hat and those goggles were attached somehow.
1. call local builders, GC's, developers, RE agents 2. pay a pro to build an SEO optimized website with your key search terms 3. run FB ads 4. call other excavation contractors and tell them you will work as a sub for them on the clearing work hope this helps!

Thanks man!
I’ve been doing my research, however I’m not quite clear on what permits are needed for clearing land
Hey man! You could call your local building department and ask if any are needed
Some places won’t require a permit, some will

Every region is different. I recommend calling your local building department and ask them what you need

Any way we can hop on a call for a few minutes Austin? I have a few questions!
Don't need much time, just a few minutes.
Sure thing
I started one, about a year into it but not much business. What is your advise on how to advertise to get more work?

4. call other excavation contractors and tell them you will work as a sub for them on the clearing work
