9:30 that's Porta Torre (Tower Gate), it's base has some roman era strcutures but it was constructed and later fortified 1192, the big 8 arches are for the cannons and other artillery, so that they can be brought into the tower and the small windows will be use to fire. from your POV, you are inside the city just next to the fortified city gate
