Hello to Graham and your mates from Jane & Peter in Colorado! Finally tracked down your fantastic channel and this beautiful journey so thoughtfully captured in video and words! We relived the whole walk watching this, although our 7 day pamperidge version was quite soft compared to your grueling mileage. Sooooo glad you persevered to the Holy Island. I just wanted to untie those terrible boots you suffered in as we watched you walking on that cool, wet, soft sand at last. It was such a joy sharing a small part of the path with you and the “lads”. Didn’t even get your names!
Hello! Lovely to hear from you, I hope you enjoyed your pamperage (great phrase!) It was a journey we all enjoyed although taking it over a few more days would have allowed us to relax and take more of it in. Walking across Pilgrims Way at the end was a real highlight- I’ve wanted to do that for years. Holy Island was a beautiful place to finish - there is real magic there. I hope you’ve both got some great memories of a little piece of Scotland and Northumberland. ATVB, Graham P.s. I’ve bought some new boots!
What a trek!! I totally loved the longer content. My sympathies to you and your family for your furry family member Cassie. A passing that rips ones guts apart for a lifetime. Charge up your batteries for your holiday with your lovely wife. Cheers!
Brilliant video mate , you really captured the essence of multi day hikes. The ups and downs are an emotional rollercoaster ! Thanks again for the pint!
Thanks Steven, I’ve just rewatched your video and it was great to see places I’ve just hiked again. All three of us felt that the kilometres simply weren’t adding up somehow and we recorded many more than the map said! I found it quite a tough walk in just 3 1/2 days and I would have loved to take more time over it. All the best mate, Graham 👍
That has to be without doubt your best video yet.Graham it was a roller coaster of emotion, there was history, japery(albeit a poor dad joke) there was joy and the sadness from your dig, then the struggle of the journey, then the delight of reaching Northumberland, then finally reaching not only the causeway but crossing onto the island. That's got to be the most I have been engrossed in a video this year!!! Plus the cheese was a winner too. 100% makes me want to try it, maybe more type2 for me at times😂😂😂 But honest, what a belta, thanks for sharing
What a great comment, honestly, thank you, makes me think doing a few more videos is worthwhile 🙏 I enjoyed most of the walk but some was definitely type 2 fun 😅 it was a great joy to get across to the Island on the Pilgrims way though. Thank you again and ATVB, Graham 👍👍👍
Well done lads, that's quite the achievement, even if it was type 2 achievement for a lot of the way. Cheers for the wee shout out and pleased you had a proper hot brew. Sorry to hear about your dog though. Well done on hiking across the causeway, that's a fine way to finish the walk, but I didn't realise it was that length either! atb DVS :)
Thanks Donna, really pleased I walked it, much of it was beautiful but my boots and weather made some of it type 2 fun- I think the lads were sick of me whinging 😂 It was great to see Shaun Mc towards the end as well, gave us all a real boost. Cheers DVS, ATB, Graham 👍👍
Great video. I know the land around this route really well. It never disappoints. Great stuff. For the stretch between Morebattle and Kirk Yetholm come back and do it.
What a great achievement lad's I'm glad you got to the end Graham really enjoyed watching this I totally agree why push the miles take it easy and enjoy the view's of the walk have a great holiday with the wife atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Thanks Jimmy, I think that's sort of my philosophy now- to enjoy rather than endure. Looking forward to getting dome sun now. Fly tomorrow. ATB, Graham 🤘👍
Another great video Graham, thank you for sharing it. I relived doing the same trail last year. Seeing the sea was a fantastic feeling. I’m sorry to hear that you lost your dog recently, I bet that she had a great life though and wouldn’t have wanted for anything. I’ve just bought a selfie stick and plan on filming my next wild camping trip, hopefully in the next few weeks. Thanks again Graham and atb 👍
Thank you, Cassie was a big loss. I got a real boost seeing the sea on the walk, knowing we were that bit closer to our goal. Doing a little video of your adventures is a great idea- helps to preserve those memories. Thank you again, and all the best, Graham
@@thebackingpackinggeordie it’s a good walk Phil, one of the shorter long distance paths but full of history. Great seat at the beginning! All the best mate 👍
Thanks Mark, It's pretty doable, not too long with great scenary. My boots let me down a bit- not fitness (honest). I'm sure you'll do the section I missed. ATB, Graham

Outstanding Graham lad, loved the video. No issue with the lift, you are doing the way, the way you doing it ... not to set any conscientious records. Glad you got to Lindisfarne, and loved the Pilgrims Way crossing ... its a special place for sure. All the best mate.
Thanks very much, appreciate the comments about doing it your own way, you're totally right. Was just pleased I got to the end however I got there ! ATB, Graham 👍👍
Really enjoyed this one Graham and brought back good memories for me. Bloody horrible losing a dog mate, the are family members. Good call taking transport when running out of time as it's precious holiday time that should be enjoyed with good memories. All the best and thanks for sharing the adventure.
Thanks mate, I think it was the right decision to get a lift for that little bit and it did preserve the joy of the rest of the trip. Thanks for your comment about Cassie, yes they’re definitely family. ATB, Graham 🙏
Great video Graham. I loved the dad joke 😂😂 some lovely seats along that hike eh? Sorry to hear about your dog they really are one of the family I still can't think about my last dog without wanting to bubble up mate. Just shows you're a good bloke in my opinion🙏
well done Graham 👍 try some dedicated trail shoes /boots with extra cushioning for your longer walks (you won't regret it ) best switch I've made. drink makes me emotional as well 😢
Thanks, I’m def looking at some lighter weight trail boots with a wider toe box: recommendations welcome. Keep the scarpa’s for short distances. Aye, I miss that derg. ATB, Graham 👍

What a great vid and epic journey Graham (and pals!) Loved it. I was at Cuddies Cave in '19 as me and a pal were riding the off-road 'Sandstone way' Very moving... How good are the memories, now that you are in Pathos? Thanks for the tip regarding talcum powder. I'll stop sprinkling it on my chips🤣 #outstanding 🏆

Nice one Graham, did this trail around 6 weeks ago. It’s a beautiful walk through some of the finest countryside I’ve witnessed. Due to a few reasons the walk wasn’t done the way I’d originally planned so I’ll be doing it again asap and I’ll certainly finish it the correct way along the pilgrims route! Well done lads. Atb Dave
Thanks Dave, it is a good route, I do wish I could have taken more time over it though, but gotta balance those family responsibilities. What was unplanned on your route? Don't have to answer!- just curious. ATB Graham 👍👍
