I hope the starting lineup in DGL, KJ, Ty, WR, and TI with Kylan, Humrichous and Morez off the bench. That is the 8 man lineup that should get most minutes.
Right, Sunny has the correct general idea here (that WR will soon be in the starting lineup), but Sunny shouldn't even consider the idea that it might take ten games for that to happen. Instead, I already expect WR to lead the Illini in scoring. So why would Underwood not start him? (defense, injuries, because he didn't start him in the last exhibition game?) Okay, there are a few possible ideas here, but Illinois has other good defenders (Kylan, TY, DGL). WR is not hurt. And exhibition games didn't count. Sure, WR hunted his shot a little much again Ole Miss's best defenders (which is a challenge, even for him), but Underwood wants his team to get shots off in 7 sec on the average, so we're going to have live with some aggressive attempts by our best offensive players (like Shannon and Mayer did in years past) to just get the shots off, especially when these players might be fouled. That is already what WR was doing against Ole Miss. He just didn't fair quite as well as he might later on, by being a little more selective and also shooting a better percentage when he plays at home. In summary, I expect Will Riley to start as soon as it counts, namely on Monday against EIU and in a lot of games that come after that. Sure, we have other good scorers (KJ, TI, etc.), but WR is already the best scorer we have. It would be crazy for Underwood not to start WR, and there is no way (baring a major injury) that Underwood would go ten games not starting WR. WR is simply too good. BTW, I expect WR to lead this team in scoring (on the season), and the idea of not starting your team's (full season) leading scorer for so many games would later seem insane. So that's why I don't expect it, not even briefly.
Durant was pretty skinny coming out of Texas. He'll fill out his frame eventually. While this team lacks experience and in-game reps with each other, the talent and athleticism is quite evident.
I have to push back a little regarding what points of the season that really matter, yes Conference play and march may matter more, but we scheduled the nonconfetence because BU feels his Illini can compete I don't want to be getting blown out in those games either. If we can have just a little success it will take us a long way in conference.
And also underwood is smart. He knew this exhibition game would help his team for the season.

If he still has a good year a sixth man that will not hurt his draft stock but I think he will end up a starter by the end of the year

KD got stronger with age but I'd have to argue that he ever filled out..
He needs some more Fletch time to grow and bulk up. He will look very different in January.
That’s my thinking too. Wish he was able to get onto campus earlier.
But if by some chance he comes back sophomore season? Oh weeee.
Dillingham CAME OFF THE BENCH HE'S IN THE N B A
Needs to understand defense not throw the ball away get some muscles 💪
