50 yrs ago I used to sit and watch Ivan Mauger do this. He lived same road. Oakfield Avenue in Chorlton. Paul Tyrer was just down the road at his Dad's Butcher shop. I used to play cycle speedway with Paul's brother Keith. Man I'm fookin an old bastard ..lol Ivan came and decorated our front room he was that skint and used my Dad's phone as they never had one for his driving school business. Few year's later he is World Champ ! RIP uncle Ivan as I used to call him and aunty Ray.
Great video. Would be interested to know what your maintenance schedule is on the carb/clutch/engine. How many races (4-laps) before your freshen the engine? How many before a complete overhaul? Whats the rough cost for both? How many races do you get out of a set of clutch plates before they are worn out? Do you replace the diaphragm in the carb after every meeting? Thanks.
could you imagine formula 1 drivers doing this all the millions they on pampered like anything. speedway is the best motorsport riders are the best just hope the sport gets through after this virus goes away wishes to all riders

you can just use washing up liquid it does the job, I clean it with washing up liquid and hot water and then use a tiny bit of rock oil carb cleaner but you don't need to : )
Dan what is the key to starting the bike off the back wheel? My bike starts so easy first time with a push but cant seem to get it going on the wheel. Is it just a knack or do you set carb a bit different or anything
