Easily, she was basically Myth's Coco with what she managed to pull off and the opportunities she opened for her entire gen just like Coco did for their entire branch.
There will be more later. They can't graduate simultaneously and have to wait. Me and some other people have known this since the issue of A-chan resigning. There are many issues in the company right now. I can't tell this to public so you must find it yourself.
@@JohnSmith-hm8xl Oh no, dont even begin with senseless speculations about Hololive and sour the moment. THe explanation is simple: Things end soon or later, there is no grand scheme or mess thing without solid proof to explain it.
since Nene's hiatus, hololive never use black text on white paper tweet announcement anymore. I think that was in the middle of this year. Aqua's gradutaion also just like this, but different backgound color, with her logo/oshimark on the title.
It was more than a little vague in the English announcement but the Japanese announcement very specifically says that she remains a talent affiliated with the agency as Amelia Watson still, not a retirement or moving to a staff or management position. She’s just going to no longer stream or handle her social media on a daily basis
In the japanese notice they call her a "contracted talent" meaning when AND if she appears she would be paid a flat rate as if she were a freelancer instead of receiving a salary and merch cuts like she does currently. I think that's the biggest difference on the business side of it, Ame will have zero obligations towards Hololive BUT she can be approached and hired per project if she accepts. All that being said this is new ground for the company, Ame and even the other talents (which seemed confused too) so this all might be in writing and she may never make an appearance. I hope she does some time because otherwise it feels kind of like a waste of a contract, if they went out of the way to create this new model of departure they should at least test it out a couple times.
@@missingclover This is what I and many others had hoped for when Coco first announced she was leaving Hololive. It's unfortunate that it never panned out that way. I know that Cover gave her the option of returning in the future, even in a limited manner. I'm very happy that Ame is the first talent that has been willing to return to do more hololive activities in the future. However, it still doesn't make the pain of her leaving hurt any less
@@lildyo For Coco's case it was mostly just something said during an interview, it was just a courteous but spontaneous comment made by Yagoo. I do feel Yagoo would like to welcome back any of the talents (well maybe not Rushia) but the paperwork might be a nightmare, specially Japanese contracts. The big difference with Ame is that it seems she somehow managed to put the whole thing down in writing. It sounds like they have an actual contract specifying what can and can't happen. Which is huge. But like I said, at the end of the day it all depends on Ame and Cover. Ame left for a reason so expecting her to just return at any point feels like a bit of cope. But like I said, if I were Ame and Cover I'd like to test the contract at least once so... I guess we can have a bit of cope for Myth's 2025 anniversary.
@@missingclover yep business-wise a freelancer contract or something like it would be the closest thing that matches Ame's wishes and Cover's capability to provide for that wish. i'm just really impressed that the company is willing to go that far in terms of flexibility to facilitate for the talents. they really treat the talents with respect and do the best for them until the very end. and it's a good end! not of everything, but just of a phase that smoothly transitions into something else, perhaps even more exciting. we'll obviously see less of ame, but every time we do see her will feel that much more special now. and what she does behind the scenes will be surprising. i count that as a win.
Makes me remember that short AmeSame comic I once read, where Ame never came back from a time/dimension-travel and Gura would wait every day for her like Hachiko...
Amelia pioneered and laid the foundation that is Hololive EN today. She made things that seemed impossible possible and created more content not just for herself but for all the girls myth or not than what people or the company expected. Amelia Watson will always be the best detective across the infinite timelines that she has been.
This is what I hope is most remembered about her. Her streams were always fun, but the stuff she was doing behind the scenes to make sure Myth and English V-Tubing as a whole is what her real mark on the industry is. Sounds cliche, but genuinely a trailblazer who helped change the game.
Coco said ame was the perfect choice to be her successor. 4 years grinding making fun content. Studio prepping, tech work. Memorable events she put up shows so much how much effort she put in. She really is the heart and leader of holo myth. Im gonna miss her
I've always wondered why I haven't heard of more semi-graduations. Like surely some people don't want to actively be the company's idol, but are willing to do cameos.
I think semi-graduations are better than graduations. It feels things are wrapping up in a more positive way than a sad farewell. There's probably a lot of reasons as to why semi-graduations don't happen like copyright and branding. Some vtubers might no longer want to be associated with the company so they completely cut ties. The graduating party will probably have to sign a whole different contract with another set of terms and conditions if they want to do a semi-graduation. Plus, the liver has to consider their future plans such as creating a new vtuber model. How does her new vtuber self potentially conflict with her Hololive self? Regardless, I'm glad that Hololive and Ame were able to reach an agreement for a semi-graduation. They are definitely paving a whole new way of graduating from vtuber corporations.
Coco was given a similar graduation where she was allowed to appear as a guest at certain events if she wanted and they said she’d still appear in Hololive Alt. This feels like a more serious and official version of that
we don't know the exact nature of ame's 'semi-graduation', but one thing i'm pretty sure of, is that if Ame stays affiliated, she's probably much less likely to be moving on to either a new company or going solo
@@dranzermstr Really? Which announcement? In the one in the video it just says release of new merch. 3:21 "we plan to continue selling merchandise and other items that are already on sale"
I do hope to see situations like that in the future for agency talents, it's like when a pro sports player stops playing they still make appearances on talk shows and commentary, i guess the company might not like the idea of someone who isn't still in a contract to keep storing company assets like their model or logins _just in case,_ but some more fluidity would be nice.
@@antigrav6004agreed but then Gura wouldn't even have to make an official announcement, she's already doing it naturally 😂 the thing is the fans are okay with it too. That's probably the biggest difference between Gura and other Vtubers, she's just _Ina_ league of her own (heh), doing her own thing. Many people have said they expect Gura to be the one to leave first, but she's actually the least likely to, considering how she basically only streams whenever she wants to. The breaks that started out as a remedy for health and burnout problems eventually became something natural. She shows up when she wants to have fun, and since she's having fun every time, she's able to keep doing it for a long time. The frequency is a hit or miss, but I can vouch for her career's longevity. Ame's case is a bit different - she's always been more suited to production and behind-the-scene roles, but we've had our time with her and there's nothing to feel sad about. Rather, I'm super grateful for the Ame Way. Making a conscious decision and announcing it officially about the semi-retirement just gives everyone a peace of mind, because she can spend time on her other projects now while still leaving a window for occasional appearances. People like to make a big deal out of it, but while we might not see them as often, they're still here and part of our lives. Just like you never watch PewDiePie or (insert your internet personality of choice here) as much as back in the day, it's not like he's ever truly left. You might be tempted to say this is cope, but there is literally nothing bad to cope with. If anything, I'm more excited for the future now. An era might be ending, but it was indeed a good run. Now onto something new.
Long ago, Ame mentioned having lost her purpose after losing a loved one, and that she was thankful to have been part of hololive to spread a bit of joy. I hope she has found a new purpose.
At least we have the comfort of knowing that we will most probably see her again someday! Like, she's not gone gone forever. THAT is ABSOLUTELY HUGE. Keep that in mind. In the meantime, we'll be cheering for her and wishing her the best in the new path she's walking ♥
I wouldn't be surprised if she's becoming some kind of freelance production business, with all the crazy behind-the-scenes she has done over the last 4 years. The first 3D Myth collab with a whole map and rooms for each girl plus the smol Walfie models, then the Halloween stream with that map updated plus all the new models for all 11 girls then PLUS the music video, and so much more.
Thank you for being the first person in the comments to give actual detail on the incredible work she's done for her colleagues, fans, and the company at large. I'm very new to the V-tuber scene (I got into it around the time UPROAR debuted), and everyone so far was just vaguely talking about her being a pioneer that created trends and revolutionized the art of V-tubing...as if a normie like me would know what any of that entails XD
She was she found out while trucking and when she finished playing an hour or 2 later and found out the details she cried a bit but was still positive peo despite being upset
Ame will forever be a legend of EN Vtubing. Somehow, I'm kinda worried about Goomba now. I hope she is ok. I will miss AmeSame interactions so much. They have always been my favourite Hololive duo.
@@maxcrss2845 Ah yes a new model definitely means the talent is staying for a long time. Right Vesper? :P I don't think Gura is leaving, just saying nothing can be seen as a sign of safety.
Gura is probably safe. Her schedule and breaks are due to health which makes it difficult for her to work full time. She was a vtuber before Holo, so there isn't really a big risk of her quitting and going indie since then she'd have to work more (which she can't really do) for less stable pay, and she seems to really love being a streamer so I highly doubt she'd do something else. Let's hope we get to see lots of collabs these last 10 days
@@HyattHyatt3179 you are totally on point. Gura loves streaming, she just doesn't do it as much nowadays, but she's perfectly suited for the stage. shrimps are still having tons of fun with her every time she comes online, we might miss her from time to time but we ain't worried. ame taking a step back makes sense because she's always been way better at supportive roles, and she likes doing it the Ame Way. this is actually a really smart and flexible way of doing things, and nothing to begin feeling sad or worried about.
In the year 2120 Hololive EN members are all standing in front of Ame's tombstone/statue Amelia Watson, a Time Traveling Detective, the only human being in their group of mythical, gods, and immortal beings Kiara: *"The world used to be a bigger place"* She said, she still remember the day the world only have few small Kingdoms, where there is only Atlantis, Rome and Camelot. Few people but a bigger world where lands still yet to be discovered like the Americas, the New World and Oceania The rest of the girls chuckled and aome of them shook their heads in disagreement Ina: *"The World's still the same..."* She said, she is there before the Kingdom of Yamato was founded, before the Franks, the Holy Roman Empire, before Alfred founded the Kingdom of England She look up at Ame's statue *"There's just less in it"* P.S. The fanfiction story of Ame died in old but her friends stay the same... Never thought this is closed to that Also the entire Vtuber Agency, not just from JP branch of Holo, but other agency like Phase Connect and as well and even Doki and Maid Mint Ame truly inspired many
Well... some detectives can come back after falling down waterfalls, so it's a comfort knowing she can come back after something that sounds far more benign. Still- she brightened up my days with her videos, and so I can only hope that wherever she goes and whatever she does, she continues to brighten someone elses day.
She already basically was more of an organizer of events ,so its not surprising she wants to probably have a background role where she makes projects happening .
If true that Amelia Watson prefers to be an organizer rather than the forefront in Hololive, its just like the sherlock Holmes stories, Watson being a major support character to the mystery solvng.
since Gura started streaming less often and going on long breaks, i was preparing for the graduation of one of the Myths, and i was preparing to accept the news that it would be Gura. it hurt me, but the recent activity calmed me down, Breaking Dimensions, ENreco, HoloGTA, it was wonderful and gave me confidence in the future of Hololive. and the news of her graduation was like a kick in the balls, i couldn't believe it, i thought maybe it was just an indefinite break, but no, it's a farewell to the legend of an entire era. i am incredibly sad, her innovations have become one of the pillars of the current Hololive, and i understand that we are not losing her, but it really hurts not to see her on stage anymore.
Hololive won't let Gura go even if she wanted to. She's too much of a cash cow. *Insert Deadpool leaning into whisper into Gura's ear* -"til you're NINETY!"
@@sleeplessknight99 that's true, but I don't think Cover will be kept in the same conditions as Disney does, after all Cover is not Niji. I don't remember exactly who said it, like Fubuki "as long as I'm still here, it means Hololive is on the right path" (maybe not in those words, but it conveys the meaning)
Unfortunately a uptick in activity without any apparent reason is often the precursor to a graduation because talents look at their bucketlist and finally do the stuff they always wanted to... maybe the AmeSame spelling bee was such a thing 🥲
honestly i'm more surprised that other company vtubers haven't done the same before. while being rare, there have been cases where talents had to step down due to personal reasons and/or health, instead of the usual conflict of interest with the company. considering they can't use ame's model for anything else anyway, it's smarter to just put her on a indefinite hiatus, and see how things will develop in the future, rather than terminating the contract completely.
Well as the joke goes, she does have the shortest lifespan out of everyone in Myth... So, it makes sense that she would "retire" first lol... On a more serious note: 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yagoo has said that graduated members are always welcome back. While none so far have taken him up on that offer, it seems Ame has. If I had to guess who would have been the first to leave Myth it would have been Ame or Gura, so I'm not exactly surprised. But that doesn't mean it's any less sad. I'm happy to see that she will be back for the occasional special event in the future.
Honestly, I hope with Ame’s unique way of not graduating it introduces a new way for Coco to make an appearance. Granted, that might be problematic, I feel that Ame is making history both in V-tubing and Hololive as a whole.
@@TacoLex I honestly doubt Coco has any plans of showing up again. I'm sure her current company wouldn't have an issue with it, but it's been years. As much as we'd all love for her to return, even just once, I just don't think she personally wants to go back.
Was watching her GTA stream yesterday when she ended her stream early. She seems distracted with something and thought i hope she doing ok. Ame is such a character and i hope she gets a nice rest from the stress.
Never really followed or watched Ame, but i'll still be sad to see her go. The number of times a collab started/ended with some variation of "thanks for putting this together, Ame" I don't know if you could ever hope to quantify how much she did for HoloEN.
I didn’t know what a vtuber was before Ame’s debut stream popped up in my recommended. She changed my life without a doubt. Thanks for everything Watson!
It honestly is mind boggling and impressive that Ame had people from even outside of Holo and Other Companies saluting her on this, it takes a certain rep and a hell of a lot of respect to be this influential towards the entire industry, its like the world stooped to stare and give their respects, Ame, wherever or whatever she does next, it will be great, as for now... let's enjoy what we little borrowed time we have with her.
Ame had a huge influence on the vtuber scene hell before she became "Ame" she was already making waves chances are if she stayed where she was maybe she would have gotten notoriety like Ironmouse hard to say as Myth is where the EN scene really took off.
@@hello-im i'm cynical too sometimes but this is one of those times i believe people are just reacting naturally to it, and it's not really that deep. notice how many people reacted to it only to add further comments later. we all need time to digest and sort out our thoughts, and there's no reason not to give everyone the benefit of the doubt when it's just simple resonating and well wishing.
It's actually not that much of a surprise. Amelia was the Myth member that I watched the least. But from what I saw, she always struck me as more of the technical minded, behind the scenes type as opposed to someone featured on center stage. Of course she'd be the one to step away first. I'm glad that both she and the company have evolved to the point that there's a better role for her now. She's going to do great.
Yup, Ame is better suited to a support role. That's not to say she isn't entertaining, the fact that she even made it as one of the founding Myth idols is amazing. I've enjoyed many of her creative streams and many cozy, comforting ones. I don't watch her as much as other Myth members, but I really appreciated her presence. In a way, she'll still continue to be present, and she's even freer to do whatever she wants best now, so this is perfect. Seeing her again will feel much more special too every time she does make an appearance, which she will. Bittersweet is the right word!
@@Lucidbkeosilly goose, numbers don't matter as much as you think. Channel growth is more indicative of activity than popularity, and she obviously barely streamed in the recent months, that's why numbers don't go up. It's not because the numbers don't go up that she's no longer active, it's the opposite. What matters is the motivation behind the change in activity and where that energy is focused. The new direction she walks in, what that may be, will be a fun one. That matters a lot more than those silly numbers people are so obsessed with.
Ame is a part of the soul of EN vtubing. I have dreams of her helping establish the US branch of Holo and becoming a core manager for the EN talent. Whatever happens I wish her the absolute best and want to say thank you for all of the amazing fun she shared with us. Thank you Amelia, best of luck in everything that you do in the future!

I’m curious to see how this new “I’m quitting streaming but I’m still low-key part of Hololive” angle plays out. I guess she simply has permission to make cameos like a retired wrestler entering the Royal Rumble.
I'm guessing one of the good things about Amelia not totally quitting is that members won't have to tiptoe around subjects involving her so if they're still hanging out, Gura will probably say so & members will probably still have random stories involving her. Still not a good idea for viewers to randomly ask about it though.
Gura is a lot more mature than what most people might assume. if i'm a shrimp and i love AmeSame 4eva and i can take the news about Ame semi-graduating this well (surprisingly i don't even feel sad at all, just thankful. it just makes sense) then i imagine Gura will just be happy that her friend is happy doing whatever she likes doing most, without feeling obligated to stay. if anything, it'll also give Gura a sense of freedom and free up her range of activities more (not limited to streaming - this shark girl is destinied for stardom) now that we have a precedence of the Ame Way. if she already loves streaming and idol activities and feels comfortable doing it however she likes, there'll much less likely to be health issues due to stress and burnouts. does that sound like wishful thinking? because i don't think it is. it just seems self-evident to me.
I'll miss hearing her gremlin noises and being able to scream AMEEEEE, but she really shines in the technical aspects of vtubing and content creation. While Ame has improved greatly in singing and dancing, I think focusing on those aspects will be best in the long run. I wish her the best and really hope to hear more from her in this Hololive affiliate side💛
Soon to be gone from the spotlight but gave her immense range in finding moms to ground pound in return. She has achieved full power that none can match her.
It can’t be understated how much an impact Amelia has had on EN vtubing. Her creativity inspired others to do vtubing and put Myth and EN vtubing on the map. I am going to miss this cute little gremlin 💛. We’ll miss you Ame.
The way I read the contrast between Ame's announcement and Aqua's graduation: Aqua will likely return to streaming in another form, leading a simpler life. That's why it was about cutting ties so she can relaunch. Amelia is getting involved in other things. It could be other avenues in tech, or just raising a family. But she is not going to be streaming, so she didn't need to cut ties and she can feature now and again for certain things.
Exactly. If a vtuber cuts ties, that's usually because they're going to reincarnate or return to a past version. Ame will only be Ame in the vtuber space.
I mean this would also give Ame the time to relaunch as an indie too. Hololive doesn't prevent their members from doing that. See: Calli. Also she apparently had stated pretty recently that she had upgraded her streaming set up.
@@Pandoholic Yes, that's what's puzzling me a bit. She talked about how she just had people in to complete her studio, and she bought a new mic, and she upgraded her streaming setup... and then she just says she's going to stop streaming? Seems like she never stopped preparing to be a better content creator. I really hope we'll see her in another form, not just a few times per year in Hololive projects.
I'm not really much of a viewer for a lot of stuff, mainly because I have a hard time tuning in to stuff like live streams generally... Even when I did follow a lot more Vtuber at my peak, I didn't really watch Ame as much as others. But her stuff always did stand out, and always had a unique and absolutely enjoyable personality. She will always have some of the most memorable moments for me, and tbh I wish that I could have been one of the lucky people who got to work with her. I wish her all the best going forward, and look forward to whatever work she might be putting out in the future!
I've never nearlly understood why Vtubers who graduate and arn't fired have never been able to come back for special events and stuff. So hearing she will show up for that sort of stuff makes sense to me. My Money is on Gura doing something similar too.
Yeah, I think Ame might have gone ahead and lit the path leading out for Gura. Gura is similar to Ame in that although she likes Hololive her social anxiety makes her poorly suited for the spotlight. You can tell Goomba has been having problems for the last year or so.
It's because they don't really want to. Coco was told directly by yagoo that she can make appearances whenever she liked, yet we never saw her again. The option is there though. Also Gura is in it for the idol experience. She wouldn't do this.
@@gossamera4665 I mean I agree with you. People move on. I think now at this point after 4 years if Coco made a guest appearance it would be very weird.
@@kirbyjoe7484 nah Gura is perfectly suited to be an idol. she was just under a lot of stress and burnout which she didn't know how to deal with. she's a lot more relaxed now and only streams whenever she feels like it - so we shrimps are actually having a lot more fun now (no matter how less frequent we get to see her stream), and i imagine she must also be feeling the same. notice how she's actually been involved in more idol activities now? if she could sing at the dodger's stadium and buff the team for that miracle comeback, she can do anything. i'm not even remotely worried, really.
Ame had an amazing run! I used to watch her a lot for her debut and really the myth member I resonated with the most! I hope her knew role treats her well and hopefully we get to see her again someday!
I don't know how to respond to this. I didn't think Ame would actually leave us. I feel gutted right now but I hope Ame does what's best for her. Pouring one out for the Teamates.
Interested to see how this is going to work and what her job will be going forward, there were a few mentions of working together in those messages so it doesn't sound like she'll be off doing other things despite not being "staff"... more like a collaborator or contractor, we'll see, leave it to Ame to create her own job :P. Poor Raora about to do a 12 hour marathon with this on her mind.
As much as im sad Ame is leaving and i cant help but be scared thia isn't the last "graduation" this year and I might feel differently over the next few days but still wanted to see if anyone else feels the same. Because of the terrible way this year has been going. I'm nervous that if someone else graduates im scared it maybe Gura. Now ik she loves Hololive and she still has the rest of Myth for support and I know they will always be friends outside of Holo but man cant help but to think Gura might be taking this the hardest and could be thinking about it. It feels like Ame was a huge pillar for her and the one person she truly felt comfortable around. Whether its for collabs or goofing off on stage. When i see Gura on stage during down time seems like she was always around Ame or messing with her. Then during big collabs it felt like she would seek out Ame to do stuff with. Now she doesn't have that and I'm scared she may not participate in other big collabs or if she does she may stay by herself more. So fear she may think it's better to leave. I really hope this is a huge overreaction on my part but can't help but to knock off these feelings since the news broke and needed to see if anyone feels like this or least help me realize I'm silly for thinking this way.
nah shrimpo you worry too much. gura loves both streaming and idol activities and she gets to do it for a job, she's not going to leave. also she's a lot more mature than what people usually give her credit for. if anything, her best friend going her own way will be encouraging her to experiment more freely in her current role. ame taking a step back to focus on behind-the-scene stuff makes sense, because she's always been more suited for supportive roles. but gura? she's destinied to be a star. you won't see the end or a sudden shift in her career anytime soon. it's good that you're on edge, though. it just shows how much people love gura, and i love seeing it every time. i'm sure she appreciates it, too, but i really don't think there's anything worth worrying about.
I remember the waiting room chat in the short talk stream, ppl were saying “stop doom posting” But we were partially right. Well I respect Ame and her decision. 💛💛💛
I've been watching myth since their debut, and it's heartbreaking that one of them will no longer be streaming anymore. I know she'll likely make an appearance in the future, but this will be a sad time.
This is hard to hear. I wish we knew what they mean by an affiliate. Prior graduates were done entirely, and she isn't moving over to staff. Sadly, things like school are based around 4 years, so part of me thought that this would be when we might see some shake up.
My 10 cents is she is starting her own company. It will specialize in VR/motion capture. It will all so help people run events like Charity streams and game 'events' like GTA rp servers. A full on Internet Studio that will work in online productions.
@@bashamd96 Ummm she said herself that she is not going to be staff. Ina talked about it too. I think her last stream will show in detail what she plans on doing. I think Cover is helping her with it, but she will be independent. I think you will see Ame help branch Cover out to other groups and indies via events and the like.
that certainly feels like it. in fact, you're not the first person to speculate the exact same thing. she's her own boss now! with the help of cover, and helping cover, except now not as managers vs. employees, but as partners. she's simply growing. cover has grown a lot, too, to even be able to let the talents have this much freedom and fly far from the nest.
Coco entrusted Ame with the formula for AsaCoco, Ame created Watson Concoction from the formula... I wonder who will be next to "take the baton", so to speak? Godspeed, kawaii little Time Detective! We'll meet again!
Ame will forever be an icon to the VT community and it's fans. Her dorkiest ideas for different versions of herself lead to so many of the things we love today. Ame really innovated so many things that all VTubers implement into their work, and it shows. It feels to me that Ame is destined to help with developing more ways to improve visual works on the virtual side, and is headed to the Ametrix to begin that new work.
W-W-We need to find time machine ASAP! Maybe you can enter via nearby vending machine 😭 What a Ameway to leave! ☔😭😭 At least we can still see her here and there outside the normal streams
And so it finally happens: An O-G EN Talent takes her last bow. Based on the information of remaining an affiliate, this ceasing of activity not being related to personal stuff, I think that the same situation Kiryu Coco was in upon application has come around and the company is willing to try a switchup. I think Ame's going to be doing more behind the scenes work while occasionally popping up for big musicals and the like. We've seen a few prominent EN talents go without streaming for considerable time supposedly to be doing stuff behind the scenes and working with the company to get projects approved, support the talents, and coordinate relations. Ame is trading in her detective hat and magnifying glass for a movie crew cap and a cellphone.
It is so damn cool that Watson gets to stay as an affiliate with Hololive. Meaning all the legalese that goes between a company and their talent will still remain civil and can be paid on a case by case basis. Big Ass W for both holo and Ame.
I remember when Coco was graduating, Ame called her an Icon. After these 4 years, I think we can all say the same about Ame, too.
Absolutely.
She's a trailblazer, 100% an Icon both on and off-screen.
Easily, she was basically Myth's Coco with what she managed to pull off and the opportunities she opened for her entire gen just like Coco did for their entire branch.

I really hope Gura is okay, they were best friends and this has to hit her hard.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. Let's just be happy she was able to end it in her own way, the Ame way
There will be more later.
Even the "graduation letter" background is not white. This is the first time I see this
since Nene's hiatus, hololive never use black text on white paper tweet announcement anymore. I think that was in the middle of this year.
Aqua's gradutaion also just like this, but different backgound color, with her logo/oshimark on the title.
Besides the last time Amelia used the white background, and it was just for the among us announcement
There is no graduation word in the announcement..meaning she's not really graduating
And it's a good thing bc everytime I see black text & white background from cover it always give me a heart attack
@@UCANTDOYIT me too bro. Me too
It was more than a little vague in the English announcement but the Japanese announcement very specifically says that she remains a talent affiliated with the agency as Amelia Watson still, not a retirement or moving to a staff or management position.
At least the JP version fill in some gaps of the EN. Cuz I thought she's probably just moving into a staff role
Makes me remember that short AmeSame comic I once read, where Ame never came back from a time/dimension-travel and Gura would wait every day for her like Hachiko...
Awww
Wait. That's actually sad... 😢
There better be a sequel where she comes back.
Im gonna miss her
Goodbye my pearl 😢
I've always wondered why I haven't heard of more semi-graduations. Like surely some people don't want to actively be the company's idol, but are willing to do cameos.
like a branch for retired idols but still vtubers?
Maybe not as ame the streamer but as the seiyuu of ame
She can serve as a service provider with her studio. She can appear time to time .I think it's the smartest move I have ever seen.
I JUST REALISED
SHE CAN STILL BE THE CAMERA DOGGO WITH BUBBA

@@dranzermstr Really? Which announcement? In the one in the video it just says release of new merch.
3:21 "we plan to continue selling merchandise and other items that are already on sale"
this is how i wish graduations would go. not graduating forever, but taking as step back and make appearances every now and then
I do hope to see situations like that in the future for agency talents, it's like when a pro sports player stops playing they still make appearances on talk shows and commentary, i guess the company might not like the idea of someone who isn't still in a contract to keep storing company assets like their model or logins _just in case,_ but some more fluidity would be nice.
I hope we can see her pop up in projects later, hopefully not just as a name in a credit scene, but as herself
I would not be surprised if this is the direction gura goes considering how little she's streamed till recently
Like Misty in the Pokemon anime.
I read the title thinking Ame had single handedly stopped all of HoleEN 😅
Don't worry shes merciful
Sounds like something she is capable to do
If she wanted to should 100% could
I did too, and believed it because Ame is the Mike Tyson of VTubers.
Lore accurate Ame
Long ago, Ame mentioned having lost her purpose after losing a loved one, and that she was thankful to have been part of hololive to spread a bit of joy. I hope she has found a new purpose.
Definitely, she's doing it the Ame Way!
Gohnathan losing his wife twice in a month… damn
Gohnathan our broken hero, 😭
when all the big names in artist and vtuber wishing ame farewell... means a lot cause she started a lot of the trends first
At least we have the comfort of knowing that we will most probably see her again someday!
Like, she's not gone gone forever. THAT is ABSOLUTELY HUGE. Keep that in mind.
In the meantime, we'll be cheering for her and wishing her the best in the new path she's walking ♥
Also, no mention of her channel being deleted, just the members stuff. So her Vods will stay up for the foreseeable future 💛
Exactly. And quite frankly I look forward to the Ame touch she'll bring to all her upcoming projects.

Pain.
But also, not really, because she’s still there.

I don't think Gura is leaving, just saying nothing can be seen as a sign of safety.
She might do the same in the future.

New job option opens up for post graduation for a talent. Part time or Event vtuber.
Innovativing graduations as well.
The Ameway
since Gura started streaming less often and going on long breaks, i was preparing for the graduation of one of the Myths, and i was preparing to accept the news that it would be Gura. it hurt me, but the recent activity calmed me down, Breaking Dimensions, ENreco, HoloGTA, it was wonderful and gave me confidence in the future of Hololive. and the news of her graduation was like a kick in the balls, i couldn't believe it, i thought maybe it was just an indefinite break, but no, it's a farewell to the legend of an entire era. i am incredibly sad, her innovations have become one of the pillars of the current Hololive, and i understand that we are not losing her, but it really hurts not to see her on stage anymore.
Hololive won't let Gura go even if she wanted to. She's too much of a cash cow.

@@sleeplessknight99 You do know that they can't "jail" her in the company right? She can leave if she wants. She is on a contract, not a slave.
Got to be hard to get a legal contract everyome could agree with. That is a huge step for the industry.
Well as the joke goes, she does have the shortest lifespan out of everyone in Myth... So, it makes sense that she would "retire" first lol...

Yagoo has said that graduated members are always welcome back. While none so far have taken him up on that offer, it seems Ame has.

Some of them for the "clout' because some of them dont even read the note carefully.
Building on that, I believe in the month of August, her yt channel had the least amount of subscriber growth in all of hololive.
What matters is the motivation behind the change in activity and where that energy is focused. The new direction she walks in, what that may be, will be a fun one. That matters a lot more than those silly numbers people are so obsessed with.

I’m curious to see how this new “I’m quitting streaming but I’m still low-key part of Hololive” angle plays out. I guess she simply has permission to make cameos like a retired wrestler entering the Royal Rumble.
I sincerely Hope GURA her BEST FRIEND is taking this well. I must hear from her in all this because those two are so insanely close
Didn't realize this, but we must accept this about what Ame picks next.
I'll miss hearing her gremlin noises and being able to scream AMEEEEE, but she really shines in the technical aspects of vtubing and content creation. While Ame has improved greatly in singing and dancing, I think focusing on those aspects will be best in the long run.
It's a way to graduate if the voice behind the vtuber doesn't have plans on reincarnating somewhere else.

This one really came out of left field, hoping for the best for her future proyects.
One of the OGs of Holo EN
Idk man she’s the only reason I got into vtubers to begin with. This hurts so much
Interested to see how this is going to work and what her job will be going forward, there were a few mentions of working together in those messages so it doesn't sound like she'll be off doing other things despite not being "staff"... more like a collaborator or contractor, we'll see, leave it to Ame to create her own job :P.
Amelia Watson was the first ever Vtuber I watched. I’m actually speechless.
I'm thinking she's becoming a part-timer so she can pursue some smaller personal projects.
I remember the waiting room chat in the short talk stream, ppl were saying “stop doom posting”
But we were partially right.
Well I respect Ame and her decision. 💛💛💛
Taking the Maptat "retirement" really seems like the best outcome.
Ui mama is an affiliate.
@@hteekay i didn't know that! interesting stuff.
think this is going to be like wrestling, where a wrestler retires then comes back through the years for events
WTF is Ame doing? I have no idea, but I wish the best for her.
My 10 cents is she is starting her own company. It will specialize in VR/motion capture. It will all so help people run events like Charity streams and game 'events' like GTA rp servers. A full on Internet Studio that will work in online productions.
She's already said she's moving to a behind the scenes role not leaving
@@bashamd96she also said she’s not becoming hololive staff
Poor Peo. She took the news really hard.
I think ame is cooking something remember guys ame is unpredictable.
Affiliate? Hmmm... 🤔 What does that mean?
Technical consultant?
God I love Ame, she will never stop evolving the medium. Love her!
Thank you for the VTuber news.
o7 💛
Ame will be back!
Deym... ALL EN vtubers giving best wishes for Ame, this really proves how impactful and iconic she is. 😢❤❤❤
Truly graduating in the AME WAY
Truly the end of an era
To most there are only two options; graduate or keep on streaming. But for Ame there is a 3rd option, The Ameway
Maybe you can enter via nearby vending machine 😭
What a Ameway to leave! ☔😭😭
At least we can still see her here and there outside the normal streams
Thank you for the news. She's taking a new step in her journey
It is so damn cool that Watson gets to stay as an affiliate with Hololive. Meaning all the legalese that goes between a company and their talent will still remain civil and can be paid on a case by case basis. Big Ass W for both holo and Ame.
