Love to see more of those denim tables
It was very generous of your wife and you to give away the best jeans tables from the previous video.
12:15 just use a pair of metal tweezers to avoid burning yourself... dude....
I appreciate the movie references!!!

🔵 { O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous - ( 2:21 )
🔴 [He] who made for you the earth a bed [spread out] and the sky a ceiling and sent down from the sky, rain and brought forth thereby fruits as provision for you. So do not attribute to Allah equals while you know [that there is nothing similar to Him]. ( 2:22 )
🔵 And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. ( 2:23 )
🔴 But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers.( 2:24 )
🔵 And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow. You know what makes Cam’s videos so much better than other woodworking videos? It’s the constant yap. I don’t think I could survive without it.
Lmao he’s a professional yapper
Totally
His yapping is soothing. Other people I mute. 🤫 😂
Yap = narration.
Yapation, if you will.🤔
I usually hate yapping but he's so good at it, those 27 minutes flew by lol
Cam has cracked TH-cam honestly. The thumbnails are always incredible, I've never not clicked on a Blacktail video the second i see the thumbnail
Just need to convince a few million more people to agree with you 👊
and no clickbait!
@@BlacktailStudio At almost 2.7 Million subs....you're getting noticed. Keep up the great work.
And never stop calling out those who complain. I look forward to the end of your videos as much as Iike the content.
My brother... 43k views in an hour... i think he is right @BlacktailStudio lol!
0:12 I do like it, and I think it would make a great desk in my home.
This has to be one of the most genuine woodworking channels. No clickbait thumbnails or titles, honest and funny commentary, and also great woodworking content.
love the channel but you gotta admit the titles can get really clickbait
Ya, I have to admit I try to get right up to the line of clickbait. Then put my toes right on the edge when I write my title.
@@willfox662 They're clever titles designed to draw clicks, but usually the term clickbait carries the connotation of dishonesty.
Odd question here. But what did you do with your scaled samples? I’d love to get one🥸
@@BlacktailStudiohanging 10 on the clickbait bro. Resistance is futile.
I'm a new subscriber as of a couple of days ago and I have to say this is my favourite piece so far. I'm a commission figurine and military model painter so watching you go through the process of applying colour to this artistic medium was great. It's the same process most artists go through where at times, through the many processes, we look at our work and say "This looks terrible " only to persevere and end up with a pleasing result. Always pushing to try new things and always learning techniques that add another tool to our toolkit. Outstanding.
Guitar builder here! When we're doing the multi coloring ("Bursts" as they're called) it's a lot easier to start with the darkest color. That way you can sand back the areas where lighter colors will go until you get the level of transparency you want. You can then put the next lightest color across the WHOLE piece, which will give you a much more consistent color gradient. This way, you don't really have to worry about blending the different layers as you had to here (the blending comes from the sanding step). Rinse and repeat for subsequent layers going from darkest to lightest.
Isn't it dependent on the material you're using for the guitar and the type of paint?
@@AtotehZ He's not painting here he's dyeing. Dye is transparent so you can see previous layers. For paint you usually just spray on flood coats similar to how automotive guys do it.
As an artist, who's determined to lose a finger by picking up woodworking. That's probably the best advice I could accidentally come across. Thank you, your wisdom should be documented for future generations... They're gonna need all the help they can get.
Great advice. When he was slathering on the red I was like "No! You can't blend that!"
Interesting, I didn't know that it could be done light > dark ... Have you ever seen any of the instrument build videos by Rosa String Works? He always goes light > dark on his bursts, and it comes out equally well.
“That is more yellow than I was expecting”
Hilarious jump cut to the table! Great editing and even greaterer table!
I cracked up with that cut😂
Your original denim desk 100% gave me that feeling of " wow! I've never seen anything like that and I want that in my house" that was definitely your Holy Grail item for me.
Same, his damascus (pattern welded) tables are insane, but that denim-v1 is just the goat! Happy shahin🎉
Same. I didn't like the Damascus ones though I could admire the workmanship.
You would love carbon fiber work.
yeah, exactly. was new but somehow still looked traditional (who doesnt love a good pair of levis?)
Ah yes, the Jable
Dang, why did TH-cam hide this from my feed for six months. I love this table. It's ridiculous and fun and the process of getting to that finish by just marching ever-forward is the most relatable. Great job, Cam.
Go to the bell and hit it and select All Notifications. For whatever reason they will put your notifications on personal, which causes you not to get the notification. Pretty crappy if you ask me. The whole point of subbing is to get the notifications! Right?!? Lol!
I mean if you actually go to your sub page it doesn’t hide anything.
I know he's been here a long time, but Scott is easily the best addition to this channel. His insights make you a better creator and I love his commentary.
The table actually looks like a flying Z Dean guitar. I’d like to call the dean table.
HAHAHA! The burn from the fill stick was hilarious. I love the interactions between Cam and Scott almost as much as the beautiful pieces that come out of Blacktail
I screamed "at least hold it with some pliers" at the screen.
I laughed a bit and winced a touch as well. I would have put a 2-3 inch wood screw in that wax stub to give myself some relief and not get burned.
There are extensions for charcoal or wax crayons in art supplies. Don't know if the radius will fit, but yeah better then burning your fingers off 🤗🤣
Just tack the old stick on the end of a new stick. Wax on....
For what it's worth - I think your voice overs are freaking awesome! They are the main reason I watch your videos start to finish without even skipping once.
And......OMG - I haven't seen anything like that table and I really want it in my house!!!
I agree. Some videos the voice overs get annoying. But I feel Cam has found the perfect balance.
We just discovered him and immediately liked him! 😊
I agree. Cam’s voice keeps me tuned in to the end on every video! 💕
Whoever is fortunate to win a piece of furniture from Blacktail is truly receiving the height of excellence, or the “cats meow” as some would phrase it…
Calling their work and detail “amazing” is an understatement.
I clicked the wrong icon and ended up on this channel a few years ago, and I'm hooked. Not only do you build amazing stuff, but the entertainment, humor and irony is 100 of 100.
Love that Cam casually dyes a beautiful pattern Into the wood, gets second thoughts, completely obliterates it, and repeats about 15 times.
I wanna add a new category to your projects: "it's awesome and I want it, but my home isn't worthy" ! This piece is PHENOMINAL 🎉🎉
Likewise. I would love to have this piece but it would be wasted in my house where my current IKEA desk languishes in an unseen corner. I would have to buy a new house with an office off the entryway so I could show off the desk to everyone.
This would make a great media production desk. (Concept artist, Music producer, Streamer, Etc.) The color really pops on camera and I'm sure it's even better in person.
To be honest I think this is probably one of the coolest tables you've ever made.
I lost my Dad last week and had shown him a couple of your videos while he was in the hospital. He thought you were hilarious with your self-deprecating sense of humor and was genuinely impressed with the projects he saw.
Thanks for that, Cam.
I am so sorry for your loss, yet glad that you had a relationship with your father. I just want to say that I just prayed for you, and thank you for sharing this, too.
Good share my man. Sorry for your loss. Thats great u got to be there with him towards the end.
Dang man, so sorry to hear that. Thank you for saying that though.
Sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing your experience
Rest in Peace to your Pops. Feel their love and stay strong.
The voice over is at least 50% of the quality of your video. Good humor and humility, it’s awesome. And I would love to have a desk like that. And that little round blue table is amazing.
Keep making video I’ll keep watching here in France.
I think it’s unbelievable gorgeous. Literally the most beautiful piece of furniture I’ve ever seen. Although it would look so out of place in my bland home I would be extremely happy to have this in my home. Congrats to whoever won this beauty.
The 'body relief' really makes the table pop. This table would fit so well in a recording studio with guitars hanging on the wall next to it!
I just thought the exact same thing
💯
Absolutely love that you aren't just a woodworker, but also an artist and likes to try new stuff!
I think it is very neat that you can take a piece of nature and add to it and end up with such a beautiful piece of art. I know the perfect place for it.
Yes I would put this table in my house! My 22 year old grandson is a gamer and I would love to win this for him. He lives here with me and his dad. He doesn't have a room of his own, and our living room is his bedroom. I'm disabled and I spent last year in the hospital more than I did at home. My health is failing and I would love to do something for him before I pass away. I can't afford to do anything great and I have watched quite a few of your videos and I really love your work. I love the banter between you and Scott. I'd rather hear you talk about what you are doing than just watch someone make things with no audio. It shows that you have a personality and are a great guy. This table is so beautiful and I have never seen anything like it. Thank you for sharing and letting me share with you ☺️❤ Peace and Blessings to you and your family.❤
Oh my goodness Catherine I’m so so sorry to hear about your health. I will be praying for you. Do you know Jesus as your personal savior? Once we die we either go to Heaven or hell and Christ loves us so much that he died for our sins so we could be saved. The Bible says if we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead 3 days later and is Lord we will be saved. Believe Christ paid for your sins personally and when you stand before God the Father you will be justified because of the blood of Christ. None of us could ever earn heaven on our own. We all deserve hell, but Christs offers us the gift of eternal life!
@@Zacharythorsen I do believe in Jesus Christ and that He died for our sins and through Jesus is the only way to see Heaven. Thank you for your prayers. May God bless you and your family as well 🙏❤️🩹
I'm sorry you feel that way
At 21:30 I love it! The beveled underside like a guitar was brilliant! I don’t know how many times I’ve hit my knee on a sharp edge of furniture, this would solve a lot of my problems. Well done.
as a childcare provider i have had many kindergarteners come through my door and i can honestly say i would happily hang that piece of art on my fridge any day. even the testers would make great coasters or sandwich boards...thanks for sharing your process, i always enjoy.
Got to love your humility. A design teacher once told me no one ever talks about Michaelangelo's endless mistakes and failures. That keeps me sane.
I love the collaboration with four eyes. Would like to see more of that. Very different styles, but they come together well.
I agree, Foureyes & Blacktail are 2 of the best YT build/designing channels. I love Jonny Builds too!
This is my third video I’ve watched of yours. I absolutely love this btw and want it in my home office. I’m 47, run heavy equipment fora living but have tossed around and dabbled in building furniture in my past. You’ve inspired me to move forward and dive in even further. Small to zero chance you’ll see this but kudos to you and thank you for the inspiration. Keep dreaming and keep moving forward.
NEVER STOP CREATING SOMETHING COMPLETELY NEW! That is the formula of success.
Your strength is not that you always know what you are doing. It's that you are not afraid to try and have the confidence that you can fix/change whatever you dont like. I love your work, the commentary, the education and most of all, your sense of humor.... Keep it up. I don't even do wood working and you are one of my favorite channels
My husband is a musician and plays bass, and many other instruments. This table would be a great piece for him. Also, I can appreciate your denim table top. I’m dealing with breast cancer right now and I would love to have that table top as my side table for my crochet projects. You are absolutely a true artist! My husband is so much like you. He has created lots of things for me due to being disabled for the last 20 years. Have a great day and thank you for being you!
Dude, sometimes you criticise your work like it isnt impressive but as a carpenter/builder i think your work is absolutely unreal. the way you come up with things and make them happen is such an inspiring way to go about things, big ups to you man.
Excellent "Silence of the Lambs" depiction. No explanation needed!
As always, stunning work.
This is definitely one of the projects that was unique and most people would love in their house. The guitar theme was also another awesome way to touch another community.
I love how these woodworking youtubers are friends and promote each other.
Glad I found this channel. I have some disabilities that prevent me from pursuing woodworking, but I get a lot of that same satisfaction from your videos. You do a great job of showing the whole process. It is very appreciated.
Usually I don’t like the pieces you build. I’m not a fan of epoxy tables. But I always enjoy watching you building them - the expertise, the craftsmanship, the elaborate finishing process and how you cope with problems and mistakes.
There is an exception to every rule: Being a hobby woodworker and a guitarist I‘d really love to have this specific table in my home office.
As a south african living in the UK. This table automatically made me think of the african sunsets I miss so much. I would love to have this table in my home office. This table is a masterpiece. You are so talented.. 😊
Accidentally making one of the coolest looking desks ever. I would appreciate a desk that looks like that.
That's my favourite of what I've seen of your builds. I can imagine the grain and colour would be great inspiration for creative projects working at that desk. Bravo Sir.
This is fabulous and anybody who’s lucky enough to have this in their house should enjoy every moment of having it .
❤❤❤❤❤
As a guitar player, I appreciate the color, the shape, the finish... the belly cut is a very nice touch. This desk is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, and I would absolutely put it in my house!!
there are so many people who would love this. I'm one of them!
I would love to have something creative and new in my home...in fact I need a desk. I'm 61 & I turn 62 January 16th & hoping, praying I'll be able to move out of my daughter's unfinished basement that is unventilated, cold, no central heat or air. Dirty, dusty and musty. I'm hoping to move into a senior residence after I turn (& I can only move in there because it's 62& over accommodation)62. I truly love watching your videos. I'm inspired by all the beautiful artistry. Thank you
I am a guitarist with over 30 years of playing and I also play PRS guitars. This desk speaks to me on so many levels. I would proudly have this in my house. Quite frankly this would be my dream desk. You absolutely nailed this. Great job as always.
I am a old school gamer and I would love to have this in my house. It is something I would drag visitors to show off. Great work
Very nice piece! Just so you know, I’ll never get tired of watching the walnut and black epoxy tables. Your walnut and brass desk is still my favorite piece.
Beautiful beautiful table. I have a 4’ x 8’ table that my late husband made in high school. You’ve given me inspiration to create something more useable. Bill would have loved your channel. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Thanks so much!
Cam's Honesty in his projects are just seriously on point. Love the way he just states it like it is and keep pushing through no matter how the result turns out. It is this method of learning knowledge that takes a professional to the next level.
I'm a photographic artist, and I am in love with this design. I think you are more of an artist than you give yourself credit for. When I watch your videos I see art being created. The way you approach is only further evidence of that. Personally, I can see myself sitting at it, editing images, and it would just brighten my mood to do my own work. SOOOOOO. I love it. I want it! I can definitely see it in my home. I can go one step further and say that this desk speaks to me.
Agreed
I am a 36 year old mom of 5 girls and I LOVE this channel. There is just something about the amazing work and humor added with your humility that I admire so much! I know nothing about woodworking, but I'm always quick to hit the like button. Thank you for what you do!!!!
Absolutely agree. I just love the honest cander and dry humour.
This is the first video of yours I've seen. I saw the thumbnail and instantly I went "That is an awesome guitar table" so the design was spot on. Whoever got this desk should be as proud of it as you should be, this is incredible.
My wife would absolutely love that as a stand desk for work. Holy crap that’s gorgeous! Outstanding work yet again sir.
You are most definitely an artist and not a scam artist! Artists do not have to be able to draw. The care, attention to detail, preparation and innovation in the way you apply colour is awesome.
Honestly, i think this is my favorite piece I've ever seen you make...we made cars in wood shop when I was in high school. While everyone else had a natural wood look I painted mine a fire red and black... everyone hated it but I loved it. It's a beautiful desk
I absolutely love this! I just redid my bedroom in black and red and put a small office desk in the corner for my in-home business. This desk would create an over-the-top finish to my room.
OK
I’m from England and I watch one of these videos every night before bed. Every single piece I’ve ever seen you make I would definitely have in my home, the attention to detail and the craftsmanship in each piece is awesome.
I realise it’s a long shot but I would be ecstatic if you chose me to give that table a home for life 🫡🙌🏽🙌🏽✊🏼
Always interesting Cam! As a person who built guitars decades ago and has done some woodworking I appreciate what you do and how you keep the viewer captivated. Keep them coming and I will be coming back. Thanks!
The great thing about watching Cam work is just watching him work. He turns out great projects, some better then other, but they all look great in their own right.
The second thing.. I love how dry you are with your humor. My god man. Never change. I dig when you and Scott are going back and forth. You all seem to feed off each other well. IDK who is going to win this table but my house would wear that with pride.
Pretty much any and every project I've seen Blacktail Studio do has either 1. Left me speechless...
or 2. Left me saying "Damn... I really wish I could afford to buy one of his pieces..."
You make beautiful, Absolutely gorgeous works of art Cam...
I am ALWAYS entertained by your voice-overs. In fact, there are usually 2-4 instances where I burst into laughter (eg: heating colour sticks and assuming you won’t singe your finger). Yes, I love your videos!! ❤❤
I'm digging your creative process that includes collaborating with your buddies. It's no small thing finding the right people who are okay about being really honest with you. Saves you time, money and energy. Speaking of honesty, Hell yeah, this desk is beautiful. Loving the graduated flame effect. For anyone winning this desk, it'll surely brighten their day and their workspace and, help them stay passionate about whatever work they do. Well done, Cam! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
As a guitarist, I've always loved the "fade" style colours, so I loved that you took inspiration from PRS in a previous video and now you've done a "sunburst" style finish too!
I would absolutely love this desk for my room: curved desks are my preference, since most chairs spin these days. One of my favourite guitars is the Music Man Cutlass JR 7 - signature model to Jason Richardson and it has a natural buckeye burl finish with a black burst on the edges, which is almost exactly what you said about dark edge guitar finishes! (Fun fact, he actually swapped the guitar he got with a customer's, since he preferred the burl on theirs!)
In all honesty though, I would have most of your pieces if I had the space or money. I never fully appreciated a good, well-made table before I discovered your channel! And showing the voiceover takes at the end gives insight to the hidden work that goes into your videos that most people never even consider!
I'm a truck driver, and yes I would put this in my home. I love the colors of that dragons breath. The stiale of the top is very functional. The standup sit leg system works well also . Great job.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎
Cam, your narrative is second to none, as is your humour and your selfdeprecation and your honesty. I'm a software engineer and I could rewrite your narrative to fit quite a few of my projects.
Im shocked anyone gives negative feedback on your projects. The stuff you create is just insanely gorgeous. This table is probably my favorite table to date. Looks incredible.
Absolutely love it xx
As a glass blower, I believe you have just made my soul in the form of a table. I have not yet gotten to the see this to show you've watched the whole video but promise, I am sticking around. That table reminds me of furnace working in the glory of the glass in its hot state. To be honest if you told us you always knew what you were doing you would not be nearly as enjoyable to watch and learn from. ETA- of course I would put this in my home. It would be a perfect place to spend those hot days that are too hot to blow but keep me near my mindset of the next piece I will work on
I watched this with my husband and I’ve gotta say that I love that table top! It’s gorgeous and I personally would love it for my home office! Beautifully done 🎉
A truly amazing build again. Sitting here watching this with my wife and she got so excited. The hint she dropped of that is an awesome colour idea and that would look good in our home, I have to agree with her.
I don’t normally make comments on your videos. Your content is really great for me and helps me focus my mind on returning to my own art. I prefer to build a room around a piece of art instead of finding art for a room and your tables are functional art.
As I get older I’m downsizing and making sure every piece I keep brings joy.
Watching your process brings joy. Especially your ‘think about’ pieces. Helps me remember to keep pushing when my pieces go thru the ‘ugly’ phases.
Thanks for making my life better.
I love your sense of humor! Dry and self-deprecating. My kind of humor!
Nice table! It's refreshing that you're not shy to admit when you're figuring stuff out as you go.
One minute into the video and I really feel the need to thank you for appreciating the challenge and complexity of "simple" creative tasks like coming up with a shape.
Transitioning from a channel dedicated to teaching to a channel dedicated to entertainment was definitely a good move. Your dry sense of humor is at least 43% of the reason I watch all of your videos all the way through.
I LOVE! this color scheme! It's a beautiful desk. I would be proud to have this in my home!!!
So I was an OK hobby woodworker who has now at 38 quit my job and started a 2 year fine wood working course where I am in the early stages of learning "Proper" wood working.
Strangely this has given me a new appreciation for Cam's work. He, as he very very regularly says, is NOT an excellent woodworker, but he has taken something kind of easy and slightly looked down on - The Epoxy Table - and turned it into actual art. Epoxy tables are two a penny on TH-cam, and yet once a month or so, this bald genius finds some way to turn the woodworking equivalent of a G-Wagon (bought by millionaires, big, expensive and literally tacky) and makes something that could go in Sotheby's. Fair play tbh.
You’re more of a designer than you give yourself credit for. That tummy cut from a guitar was genius!!! Amazing colors also.
I just returned from Hawaii and almost spent a lot of money on a large picture of molten lava of one of the volcanos there. This is an awesome desk that looks like lava. I would love to have this in my home. Thanks for the honesty in your videos.
I've been looking for inseration for the past few days. I'm wanting to build myself a gaming desk and now I know what I'm going to do. Thank you.
Man, the end result of this looks incredible. It all really came together with the last few layers of the orange dye.
I’ve been watching you for a while. I can absolutely say that 99% of your pieces I would completely put in my home! Most are stunning! The fact that you are so incredibly meticulous with making them look flawless is awesome. I hope the new owner truly appreciates all your hard work.
Incredible! As a firefighter, I can tell you that the blending of those particular colors truly looks like fire! Well done!!
This desk is stunning!! I loved seeing the transformation of the colors and where it ended up. I am not a wood worker at all, I love watching the process. I appreciate your humor. Scott is great as your sounding board.
That looks SO awesome!
Though I do have to disagree...Purple is an amazingly beautiful colour.
The state of Louisiana agrees
This would literally clash with everything I own and i’d still put it in my house. It’s that cool.
Haha, I thought the same thing. All my furniture is garbage, and man would that thing look out of place. But who fucking cares?! It's sick!
I thought the same thing. I bet it looks even better in person.
Truth!
The detail of carving the kind of belly cut to me really elevated the piece. Can’t wait to win this!
Hunny, that table is killer sick cool! I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THAT IN MY HOUSE! I WOULD USE IT AS A FABRIC CUTTING/IRONING TABLE FOR MY SEWING ROOM! FREAKIN AWESOME SWEETIE! YOU PUT YOUR FOOT IN THIS ONE!
"Sometimes you just can't improve on what nature did perfectly."
Cam, I'm blushing! You're too kind, but honestly I'm here to watch some woodworking just like everyone else. 🙏
Favourite youtube chanel by a mile! No matter where I am or what I'm doing if I see a blacktail studio vidoe its First priority.. Man even the arguments I got in with people that don't respect my blacktail studio time! So frustrating 😤😂
As always! Breathtaking peice!!!!
this +1
☝️what he says
Same! I had a pretty exhausting day (European here) but seeing the video pop up on my feed completely made up for it. ❤
16:17 That jump cut to the yellow on the desk and your reaction was hilarious. Bravo on the editing!
I have NO room in my house, but would MAKE room for this table! Great job!
If nobody else would take it into their house, I will gladly take it. I freaking love it!
This is a desk that I would love to give my daughter. Orange is her favorite color. My Son-in-law and daughter have started a church in a small community. Everything is a shoestring budget. This would give her a place in their study to organize all of the youth group happenings. Thanks, Cam, for all of your inspiration and beautiful step by step on how you achieve all of your beautiful work. And thanks, Scott, for the comical reality checks
Cam: I would totally put that in my house.
As to your technique with the dye: you did it your way, and you made it work. I have watched a legit luthier (Jerry Rosa, of Ross String Works) color several mandolins, guitars, and violins. Your method was almost the same that he used, so take heart! You guessed right!
If you ever get commissioned to make another, I can recommend that you check out some of his videos, it will perhaps give you some more tools to use when applying dyes. Some brown or black would not have been out of place, depending on the tone you are going for in the piece.
Anyway, to repeat: beautiful table, beautifully done.
Cam & Scott’s chemistry as a duo gets better and better.
This desk is amazing! I'd love it in my office!!
"Beautiful things don't ask for attention" - James Thurber
I have to admit this is my favorite piece of all the tables you have build, use this design philosophy going forward cause its working.
I dont do compliments but this one deserves it
"OH MY GOD I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT, I WOULD LOVE IT IN MY HOUSE" - Cam Anderson
Perhaps one of the best pieces of work I've seen you make.
As a kindergarten teacher of 4-7 year olds in Thailand. I see designs and colours like this on a daily basis. Beautiful though and would have this in my house.
