      i am using chatgpt to talk about geometry dash
      We started by discussing your interest in making a level in Geometry Dash and talked about different elements and techniques you could use. Then we moved on to talking about demon levels, specifically Red World Rebirth, and you mentioned your progress in the level so far. We talked about the number of attempts it might take for you to beat the level based on your current progress and how often you make progress in the level. Overall, we had a discussion about Geometry Dash and demon levels and talked about your personal experience with the game.

    The people saying GPT is super far off from replacing a ton of jobs are insane. I have a bachelors in CS with a minor in Visual Data analytics and if you have good code to start, and run into an issue GPT makes the BEST study buddy I’ve ever had. It breaks things down well, and explains them in great detail. It also gives incredible examples. So in short - no it won’t just write you an app. It will however tweak your code to be better/more efficient/identify errors/troubleshoot with you. Incredible and speeds up my brain storming/troubleshooting process immensely.

    No programming experience I made a functional pong game. There were a couple bugs and once I told chat GPT it fixed the code and after about 30 minutes I was able to get a fully functional pong game with a color changing ball, score board, and some other mechanics. It struggled a little once I asked it to not start the game until a key was hit but it fixed it after 2 tries. What was the best part was I could not get python to run on my computer so I asked chat GPT and it helped me debug and get it running.

  • @liamwhalen
    @liamwhalen ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Impressive. I would not want to have to write boiler plate code if I did not have to. In essence, if someone can describe how to play this game to another person, then they have knowledge of the game’s algorithm. Until ChatGPT the inaccessible part was telling the computer in its language how to represent that algorithm on the screen. It does take skill, knowledge, and time to be a proficient coder. But, once someone has reached that level, spending time communicating simple ideas to an inanimate object seems tedious. This is an excellent proof of concept!

    I used chat GPT to create code for a game, it created a main menu with various buttons on it, 3 buttons we discussed were a character bank, and inventory bag and a battle button. Then I asked it to create 5 characters and add them to the bag, I asked it to make the characters upgradable and asked it to add an info page on each character, the info page contains for categories: abilities, weapons, gear, and marks. I then helped it created 1 characters and defined the characters base stats and how the stats affect battles. I then asked it to fill in the blanks for 5 characters. Chat gpt created 5 characters from scratch in seconds. I then explained the battle mechanics. Once doing this I created a levelling system to grow the characters stats and then create some gear. I created a random number of gear and stored it in the bag. I then asked it to distribute the gear and weapons randomly. I then asked it to run a battle and pit characters A. And B. Against each other. It ran some kind of code and then I asked it who won. Chat GPT told me the winner of the match. I then asked for a breakdown of the battle and chat GPT explained the battle in great detail, telling me how much dmg each attack dealt and wether a dodge or a block was achieved. I asked what it thought was the decisive factor and it gave a great analysis of the stats and which stats contributed to the victory. It created this in minutes. Obviously I don’t know anything about code but it was great fun to do and see what the outcome of the battle was 😂

    I recently started making a simple game in pygame, which I hadn't installed before yesterday. I've never used it, and have no experience with graphics beyond simple graphs whatsoever. All I have is some python experience, and some more coding experience through my University Physics course, which deals with non-graphical simulations in Fortran.
    In a total of maybe about 5-6 hours, certainly no more than that, I have a basic game with a player character that shoots projectiles at enemies, a shop window, upgrades that affect both fire rate and number of projectiles fired, while also increasing the enemy spawn rate (I just felt that would make it more fun for me, I realise that's not exactly standard in video games).
    How long would this have taken me if not for chatGPT? Well... forever. Because I wouldn't have tried. But if I had to guess (badly), I'd say a week of full-time work at least, and that's assuming I had no issues with reading the documentation of pygame and pygame_GUI which would absolutely not be the case.

    ChatGPT is Great but instead of a game you just built a static website. If you are claiming that you did not knew anything try to build a game using android or unity that will be real I do not know anything.

    I'm convinced Chatgpt is going to be the brain of the android overlord that takes over. Right now we are filling it with all the knowledge of the world that it needs. 🤣

    Hey thanks for the video, this woke me up to what GPT4 can do. It's amazing but it's going to wreak havok on the world. It'll be way worse than covid for the economy in the short term. Most business owners and employees have no idea what's coming.

    If you want a crap project go for it. I have tried to get ChatGPT to code specific things needed and it spits out garbage. Seriously. Try having it create a full, and I mean FULL authentication system that includes encryption, credentials, special characters and specific selections and user made data. Its utter garbage, incomplete and just a complete mess. I have the scripts right now and can prove what that junk software produced. I tried to have it create a specific and basic player controller for a Rigid Body with included physics to take things like steps that's barely functional and an integrated camera system that is intended to find Your Player in a multiplayer scene where most of its "functions" dont function at all. Its literally a broken mess of garbage. If that's what the "hype" over it is all about you can keep it. Like I said, I have the scripts to prove it.

    So basically with a ton of work you can get ChatGPT to create a game. Got it. 😂 Yep devs start looking for new jobs, lol

      Ever notice it’s always developers doing this. When I see an accountant make a game on CHATGPT I’ll be impressed. All chat gpt is doing is searching stackover flow and GitHub. I already do that now chat gpt is just faster. You still have to know how to program and what it all means.

    • @ChristianIce
