The first two seems to symbolize love while the last two seems to symbolize adoration. Hence, the reason why both Roswaal and Subaru are turned back. They seem to be acting as "shields" for Ram and Beatrice.

Now that I think about it... True. It is very fitting though. Op 1 was focused heavily on Return by Death as he had no idea what was going on still. Op 2 was protecting Emilia from Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti DESU, coupled with the despair of the situation. Op 3 was during the time he felt his life had no meaning other than sacrificing himself to save others. This opening is the only time he truely started caring for himself and others in a gamble to protect them all without dying. As well as Emilia's past, but for my point I am making that is irrelevant. I love this opening as it shows the positivity Subaru now has towards his life and others around him. Man, you know a show is good when the openings accurately represent the character growth!

Well.... She is the main female lead and as such one of the 2 main protagonists of this story. That and the fact this season is heavily revolving around her atm with the trials and such
according to Tappei, Emilia is the protagonist, the story is just told through Subaru's POV. and from what i've heard from source readers, Subaru and Emilia's character development is constant across all Re:Zero arcs, they never stop developing as characters

re zero op's only play once or twice. but when they do, they shine. the amount of love put into these openings that scarcely show are absolutely insane. i have no doubts that pristella, pleidas, empire and all the arcs afterwards will also deliver bangers like they have previously.

Very meaningful considering (spoilers): Both Roswaal and Beatrice are shackled by their pasts while they have people who love them in the present trying to reach out to them. For Roswaal, it is Ram trying to get him to let the book go and choose her. For Beatrice, it's Subaru. In both cases, Ram and Subaru stake their very lives on the line in complete faith to the other person that there's still something there worth saving, still willing to reach out to them.

This episode was absolutely masterpiece. The amount of pain in Emilia life is so sad.The visuals of new op are incredible good and Emilia is absolutely the most favourite character for me. I love Emilia
0:53 I like how it shows every character looking at the one they love more, their most important person. If they're looking at their backs, facing away then the feeling is not reciprocated (like Beatrice and Ram) but in this case, Emilia and Subaru are looking directly into each others eyes.

we should be happy, the show is unique in that is has the full 30 minutes of its timeslot allocated to its own runtime, there isnt even an adbreak in the middle (cus it uses the full 30 minute timeslot)

And about Subaru's parents and the witches, in my view, we simply had no idea what that meant because it was just a very vague scene with the information we had. However, in Long Shot, it shows Subaru going to save Beako and after then they appear flying to the location where the Great Rabbit was, shows Roswaal fighting Ram, shows Garf fighting Elsa and, in the end of it, shows that everyone is fine. (sorry for my bad english)
Yeah I love it. I feel bad how some people are saying that the OP is a spoiler but I’m an anime only and I don’t view it that way. In fact I love that it took some episodes to get to the OP cause it feels so worth it.
Loving all the little details in the OP like they eye opening moment showing Mili in Subaru's eye and vice versa, as well as silhouettes of Roswaal and Subaru in Ram and Beako's eye respectively, as well as Mili smiling during the last lyric "I know who I am", showing her finally accepting her past and finally knowing she's not alone, also the final shot is just the perfect spoiler for what WN and LN (like myself) have been waiting for, also love that the first shot is the first kiss between Subaru and Mili

the crazy thing is that re zero is getting 29 minute episodes leaving less than a minute for ads during tv broadcasting on Japanese tv. Idk what kind of strings that studio had to pull to get this but its insane

The ending shot of everybody in the sanctuary is so captivating. Still remember the trailer of the announcement that the re zero anime was coming back. And now we are this deep into the story and it has only garnered more attention that it deserves. This fictional story is truly a masterpiece. The level of writing is honestly insane.

I really love how the shots with Subaru always feature him in the fire and shots with Emilia are inside the blizzard. This is a great way to show they are fighting their own battles, both very challenging. They both go through immense hardships to save what they love. They really did a great job, this is just one aspect I wanted to comment about.
Thats the whole point of this opening, no rushing and think every step you make. Previous subaru was making rash decisions every time. Yessir, character development right here

nah, it shows subaru’s character development trough the season, in the first cour he felt the need to save everyone excluding himself, while encountering different situations, but in the 2nd cour he had the help from others to make his plans to save everyone come true, and realized that he is also among the people who deserved to be saved
Look at it this way, 6 episodes in on second court, op is judt short of 2 min, and the ed is probably also this long. 6 episodes * 2 min op * 2 min ed, we get roughly 24 mins of extra content, that's a whole extra episode.
“‘Cus I am never going to leave you, Never going to lose you, We’ll make it to the end!” These lines are delivered so well! And the images behind them work so well too! Subaru will never leave Beatrice, Ram will never lose Roswhaal, and everyone will make it in the end after overcoming the battle with Elsa and the Mabeasts.
I do appreciate that this opening gave a lot more focus to Emilia, as this section of the story was really more about her struggles as opposed to Subaru.
I Really dont know why people are upset about the “spoilers”. It is full of spoilers Only if you are paying 0 attention to the actual story. I mean, we alredy know how strong beaco is, so saving her, as subaru wants to do is a key element. The opening did its job, we are all hyped af after watching it. On top of that, re zero has never been about “What” subaru does but rather “How” he gets to point A to point B after failing or getting new information in different loops.

for the most part the spoilers arent too bad, but it definitely spoils a bit more than it should spoil, given anime only's might not even notice some of the spoilers, but as a novel reader id recommend not analyzing the op
Opening 1: first time trying dark souls. Opening 2: trying to play dark souls but ends up dying still. Opening 3: tries multiplayer mod. Opening 4: actually starts to level up in dark souls.

One of the many reasons i love Re:Zero is that it shows us what would normally happen if the MC has no plot armour. The result is countless deaths until he finds the right/best ending to the scenario he's in.
The thing that makes me like this opening even more than I already did is how positive it is compared to the past openings, like after all this suffering and dying to save his friends, he's learned to love himself and rely on his friends when he needs help so now he's gotten so much closer to that happy ending that he's been thriving for
Re: Zero just doesn't feel complete without her voice. Honestly, I love how they brought Konomi Suzuki back for the first cour's OP and Maeshima Mayu (singer for Myth & Roid) for the second cour OP. They just paralleled S1 OP's and I like that detail

Ugh this op. There so much good in it but my favorite thing is the last line over Emilia smiling. I originally thought it said "I know who I am", but it actually was "I love who I am". That got me, because this means that Emilia has finally learned to change and love herself thanks to Subaru's help. And it hits even harder because Subaru still hasn't learned to love himself and will be needing Emilia's kindness to do so. Such a good OP.

@@matias1278. Realize's only big spoiler was showing Elsa. And about Subaru's parents and the witches, in my view, we simply had no idea what that meant because it was just a very vague scene with the information we had.
However, in Long Shot, it shows Subaru going to save Beako and after then they appear flying to the location where the Great Rabbit was, shows Roswaal fighting Ram, shows Garf fighting Elsa and, in the end of it, shows that everyone is fine.

And now we are this deep into the story and it has only garnered more attention that it deserves. This fictional story is truly a masterpiece. The level of writing is honestly insane.

I really love how the shots with Subaru always feature him in the fire and shots with Emilia are inside the blizzard. This is a great way to show they are fighting their own battles, both very challenging. They both go through immense hardships to save what they love.
They really did a great job, this is just one aspect I wanted to comment about.

Look at it this way, 6 episodes in on second court, op is judt short of 2 min, and the ed is probably also this long. 6 episodes * 2 min op * 2 min ed, we get roughly 24 mins of extra content, that's a whole extra episode.

On top of that, re zero has never been about “What” subaru does but rather “How” he gets to point A to point B after failing or getting new information in different loops.

That rule applies when the opening is actually played from the beggining of the season to its end.
This is more like a trailer + opening since it may be never played again in the show.
And most of the time you only understand the "spoiler" after the event happend
for the most part the spoilers arent too bad, but it definitely spoils a bit more than it should spoil, given anime only's might not even notice some of the spoilers, but as a novel reader id recommend not analyzing the op

One of the many reasons i love Re:Zero is that it shows us what would normally happen if the MC has no plot armour. The result is countless deaths until he finds the right/best ending to the scenario he's in.
The thing that makes me like this opening even more than I already did is how positive it is compared to the past openings, like after all this suffering and dying to save his friends, he's learned to love himself and rely on his friends when he needs help so now he's gotten so much closer to that happy ending that he's been thriving for

Ugh this op. There so much good in it but my favorite thing is the last line over Emilia smiling. I originally thought it said "I know who I am", but it actually was "I love who I am". That got me, because this means that Emilia has finally learned to change and love herself thanks to Subaru's help. And it hits even harder because Subaru still hasn't learned to love himself and will be needing Emilia's kindness to do so. Such a good OP.
