The most impressive thing is that they sound the same live. As we all know, music videos are one thing, doing it live is another
Love your enthusiasm and technical knowledge. If you love Home Free's mastery of singing in unison, you should listen to their rendition of Helplessly Hoping. It is mind blowing. Gail L.
You like hearing them in unison you need to hear their version of Helplessly Hoping that will blow your mind.
Austin ( long curly hair ) will be leaving the group in July and Adam Bastien will be stepping into his place. Adam was a member in the start of the group and also Chris’s (guy with the hat he left the group 2016 ) new group 7th Ave.
There will be 3 Adam’s in the group.
Exquisite unison with fabulous harmonies too!!!!
Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is amazing, but hearing him sing is a great treat too❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
#HomeFree #AdamRuppSinging
Wait until you hear their version of Helplessly Hoping ... a feast for the ears ... harmony perfection ! #HOMEFREE
Whenever Adam adds that fifth part to the harmony, it's GLORIOUS!
Another great analysis. If you liked this, you definitely need to see their Crosby Stills and Nash cover of Helplessly Hoping.
If you liked this, check out their masterpiece, Helplessly Hoping. Then compare the studio version to the live, off mic performance at the Ryman.
This is my absolute favorite harmonizing song from Home Free. They did the Eagles justice!!
So good. Two words for you re unison: Helplessly Hoping.
I love their pure harmonies!! They used to open their shows with this song and their mashup of Boondocks/fishing in the dark!! Another great song for pure harmony is auld lang syne!! Nice reaction!
I saw this performed live back in 2015 or 2016, it was just as good as this recorded one. I was so Amazed at the time, but after quite a few more concerts you just realize that they are just that Good. I am afraid their signature sound will change some with the departure of Austin. Just hated to see him leave, but I wish him the Best for his future.
their sound did change a bit when Chance replaced Chris (this is old enough to have Chris in it), but they were still fantastic - better in some ways. Time will tell how well Bastien blends with them. It will be different, yes.
You remind me of the way I used to hear music b4 I got old and jaded and less emotional. I used to jump up out of my seat and shout if I was somewhere I couldn't dance. Miss those days. Thank you!
I miss my knees 😆
So happy to see more Home Free!! Fabulous reaction, as usual!! xx
Love to see you check out "Everybody Walking This Land" by them - "Helplessly Hoping" might just stop your heart, as well! xx
You might check out the live versions of this in concert footage. In some of them, towards the end on "and if ever you decide" there's a definite "ringing" as the acoustics and the highest parts of the harmony click together. Delicious.
I love your reactions. You look like me the first time I hear anything by Home Free lol. Love how you conduct the chord changes even before you really know the chord changes. Ack, love it. They're so over those notes, together, and it's very well (and interestingly) executed. Lots of practice. And Adam Rupp is just special. By the way, if you like unison, you really need to hear "Helplessly Hoping." It's brilliantly executed and one of their best examples of unison with different tambour/timbres. Highly recommend.
HOMEFREE,,,,outstanding!
Home Free did a wonderful job on this song. Adam the beatboxer did a great job. I love Tim's low bass voice. The harmonies are great. Again I like the way you explain how Home Free is singing this song. I love Home Free ❤❤❤❤❤❤
There's video of them singing this in a parking garage and it's gorgeous! Great reaction - I loved it. 🍟
I actually love the live version of this even more.
Home Free does those organ sounding chords so beautifully! And like with Layne in VoicePlay, I think that having a beatboxer that can sing as well is super important. ❤️🎶
Being excellent when recorded is one thing, being excellent live is a totally different thing - and they are at least as good live as they are in the videos.
You should check out their rendition of Helplessly Hoping which is a Crosby, Stills and Nash song
The Eagles did Seven Bridges Road since the Despardo album. Every night they warmed up with this song and knew it would be good if they stayed in tune
Love your reaction! The times when Adam sings helps them create a beautiful wall of sound. He actually has a very nice tenor voice. I can’t wait till you take on their Helplessly Hoping. Get ready for an absolute gut punch!
Absolutely love your enthusiasm and pure joy for music. This has long been one of my favorites! I just love when Home Free hits you with a wall of gorgeous harmonies! If you like the 5 part harmony when Adam joins in try Helplessly Hoping (short but amazing), Brothers In Arms or Angels We Have Heard On High. All masterpieces in my opinion. Thank you again and I look forward to your next reaction!
It is rare to find someone so vocal about how a group is able to cleanly harmonize. They work hard to get this sound, and you do get this in concert! You have a great background to pick these songs apart, which I truly appreciate. I’m so glad I caught your reaction today! 🎶 Cyd
I had stopped listening to HomeFree for a minute. This is the song that brought me back.
Really appreciate all the details from you.
I think even back then, they recorded separately. But there is a live audience cam of this song from the Ryman, and their synchronization is still really good.
It is almost transcendental to experience the pure harmonics that Home Free achieves.
Thanks for your reaction! I grew up listening to the Eagles music & had their albums. They were known for their harmonies. I absolutely love this cover by Home Free. Their harmonies are so tight & the best in the business. And Adam Rupp's vocal percussion is awesome as usual. Also like the video showing 7 different bridges in Minneapolis.
Great reaction! You expressed your appreciation of Home Free so well. They are known for tight harmonies and this is a prime example of that. Beautiful reaction to beautiful singers. 😍😄
I smiled watching you react to this the whole way thru!! Loved it!! ❤
Now *that's* how you react to Home Free! The music and musicianship should move you. Look forward to you wandering through their catalog. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 😊
Great reaction, and this is an older one, they have only gotten better.
Love your enthusiasm 😅🥰🥰
The one thing I love about Home Free. They don't overpower their songs. In anywhere. Harmonies perfection. Over highs and lows in extensive style style.
Love your enthusiasm! Great reaction.
I said this many yrs ago about HF ..... (and they've gotten better believe it or not!) Exceptionally Phenomenal -- Phenomenally Exceptional ... never more true than this group!!! This Eagles Classic, HF has taken to an whole other level!!! Be Safe
Wait until you get to their Christmas songs!
Please do BRING HIM HOME AUSTIN BROWN
one of their older one, but one of their best and is a cover of an Eagles song from the 1970's
Sincere reaction.
Oh, my! You really did enjoy this one! This song is very special to me. The Eagles covered this song and I absolutely was ecstatic when Home Free covered it (extremely well), too! Even my daughter loves this one (more than the Eagles’ version). It’s actually my ringtone for her on my phone. Lol Love seeing how much you enjoy watching Home Free videos. They really are special to us Home Fries. Kind of wish you would learn their names (especially if you really love what the do and how talented they are). Just a suggestion, though. It’s not mandatory. ☺️
chuckle, they are so good it almost makes your brain hurt doesn't it. thanks for the HF
Thank you for doing Home Free!
i LOVE your enthusiasm and your knowledge.. New Sub here.. and yeah.. I totally agree with you.. they are incredible. Thank you for all you do!
When they were on The Sing-Off, I think it was Ben Folds who said that you could set your watch by Adam's beat it was so consistent throughout. I already have your reaction to Helplessly Hoping queued up, I'm looking forward to that one!
# HomeFree
Check out this LIVE version recorded at a concert in 2017!! It has Chance singing instead of Chris Rupp as in this studio version. The live performance is absolutely stunning. the 😳🎶❤

(mobile link. sorry. On my cell!)
Speaking of unison,Helplessly Hoping.
dude - so happy to have found you. you hear what I do. they sing chords.
You do really great reactions, sir!
Phenomenal, right?
I am new to your videos (just a few days) and love your reactions. I like that you explain things as well as showing how much you enjoyed the songs. I also love Home Free. I don't know if you've reacted to any of them yet, but if not, check out Adam's drum solo videos. There are a few but check out the one from May 14, 2015. Russell Wolff Productions. It's an older video and he has, of course, gotten even better since then, but I love that one. (It's also the first one I saw.) If you get the chance to see them live, you should. They are just as amazing live as in their videos.
And than Adam breaks out the Nearmonica
The live renditions of their songs are even better than the studio ones (the highs and lows are - well, higher & lower). There's a live version on y/t: th-cam.com/video/UBH7hIWHrDU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=C9Ql8O8ijqmtp489. Thanks for playing this & your comments.
Subbing for more Home Free. Since you also beatbox and understand the breath-control & stamina needed, I'll suggest American Pie featuring Don McLean. Adam beastboxes continuously for about 7-8 minutes.
do listen to Home Free version of Brothers in Arms
