  • Finally, guys, here is the 2022 HANSE 460. big changes with a cunning new design from the French architects Berret/Racoupeau. The 460 manages to reconcile a maximum of innovations and the traditional values of Hanse - fast cruising and easy navigation.

What do you think? Has Hanse changed for the better and modernised their new 460? We think so especially if you're looking for more space.

I’ve only done minor tasks in a U shaped galley while underway and let me say I was so thankful for the shape! I can’t imagine how all over I would be with an in-line galley.

Great, informative video. I prefer dual rudders and in-boom furling.

Fantastic boat. The galley is a negative for me. As was mentioned you need to stabilize yourself against something. Also, this location destroys what could be a prominent, beamy main seating/dining area. The plan is a random assortment of functions. I have been hoping for some other plan options.
Being an architect, I really appreciate the 3-D modeling. You walk-throughs are nice, but the camera doesn't know what spaces you want to see in relation to each other (maybe occasionally).

I like it but I am not a big fan of in line galley’s, I am in agreement with you that this sailboat is probably more for the charter market. Great video happy sailing to you guys;)

great presentation - Congratulations on an amazing boat we have a 388 and looking for more family space and storage so 460 looks good. Do you know what hull number you have and how many have been launched?. the order book was over 250 hulls I understand

Hi Derek thank you for watching, in the end, we did not order the 460 instead we are buying a second-hand Hanse to keep us going over the next few years. Our aim is to purchase a 460 second-hand in 3 to 4 years' time when ex-charter sailboats start to hit the market.

While I have Managed ok ish with an I line galley, by using a security belt, in difficult waters, it still won't an enjoyable experience. tbh, far and away my ideal galley now, after getting on fine with U Shaped galleys, is the Split forward Galley on the Dufour-470 and 430 (love that boat, but definitely need a bigger one to grow into.A point about deep keels. Only important ish of you are Racing, Rather Than Cruising. From a Cruising perspective, Racing spec anything imho is just silly. Shoal draft is barely noticeably worse for Cruising, but makes a hell of a difference in the number of places you can get into and drop anchor. Last boat I had was a long keel shallow draft Endeavour 32, and it was a joy to single hand apart from a bloody annoying Stackpack Mainsail - ever again, in mast furling for me, which dramaticallynimproves the efficiency of Cabin Top Solar Panels due to reduced Shading effect. Also, it is possible to get a battenless in mast furling Main, which dramatically reduces chaffing, wear and tear, and reliability is increased substantially - worth coating with Sail Lube as well. Yes, there is a s,ight performance hit, but Cruising Not Racing, remember. I liked your walk around on the Dufour-470, the only thing I might ditch, is that daft - to me - rear galley. Inly real Problem with the 470, may be getting a Construction slot, though by the time my investments hit pay dirt, likely everyone will be begging for orders, the way things are going. Thanks again. Best Wishes to you All. Bob. 👍🙂🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇺🇲

Hiya. an update on inmast furling. I've had a conversation with Precision Sails Sailmakers, and they told me that compared to a fully battened Crosscut Dacron in Mast Furling NpMain, a Triradial Dacron (non laminated) Main gets close to the fully Battened Main's Performance. Since Communicating with them, I have found Quantum Sails also do a Battenless in Mast Furler, Plus Yesterday, that Elstrom (sp?) Have just recently added a Triradial Dacron non Laminate in mast furler Main as well. They do make a lot of sense for shape retention, and especially lack of wear and tear and long term reliability in use ? When ordering a new boat, an in mast furler isn't a particularly expensive extra compared to getting a Furling Boom? Best Wishes Bob. PS When I get my new boat, I'm looking to get it exported to get rid of the VAT etc, initially maybe to Southern Spain to get a good Solar Arch designed and fitted, if A UK Agent can't commission it to my satisfaction (there is at least one excellent Stainless Steel Fabricator in UK, but they may be stupidly Expensive), So advice please on Dekivery Skipper and Crew approach to doing a New Boat Shajedown Cruise prior to haulout and first service, such as Are they ok with it, and if so, preferred Collection points and destination Drop off points and crew change possible changeover ports? From a this will be a really nice Cruise /part Cruise to enjoy being part of on this side of the Atlantic/Mediterranean area. Given a New Boat Can be picked up pretty much from anywhere. I'm disabled and will need Boat Delivery, and it may as well be Maximum fun for the Delivery Crew. Bob. 👍

Stunning sailing machine, but I do not understand that the base price of Hanse 460 was 270,900 euros a couple of months ago, and now the base price shoots up to 370,000 euros?

Must admit, the way the Global zeconomy is going, this coming Winter there'll be the start of Massive discounts, and people desperate to offload Condtruction slot commitments to buy. That should coincide with my I vestments taking off, and I can start cherry picking from what becomes available. As an aside, there could be a colossal Crash in the price of Secondhand boats as well, abd the Markets getting flooded with boats for sale, and i might see something more interesting secondhand than something new. Rough Seas ahead, lifelines on, so to speak, but things should be much better for everyone on the other side. Best Wishes, and best of luck Boat Shopping. Bob. 👍🙂🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇺🇲

Hi Leigh. I have some friends looking at a 2018 548, and they are considering the hard top as well so it goes to say that i am curious about the offer you received from your friend and what came of it.

It was just over 10k pluss vat nearly half the price, we won't be buying a 460 as the build quality has gone down. If we have a choice it will be an older 455;)

depends on who your broker is, but around two years give or take, keep a look out because there are always a few cancelled orders so boats can be up for grabs sooner.
