Hi Robin, thanks. All worked out well in the end and now have a security bit which appears to fit the majority of coffee machines so may come in handy again at some point in the future. It does raise the question over the accessibility of the part. On a matter of design has there been access to pop that part out it would fall into the empty tray, clean and press back into place, job done. Design oversight or planned obsolescence, one can only wonder. It makes a good coffee to be fair and always sweet when the machine was free haha. Wishing you a relaxing evening, Shane and Lisa :)
I love fixing stuff as well Shane, very satisfying. When I dismantle old clocks and their mechanisms, I send a quick video back to the person I got it from, showing it working and in tip top condition. Varied responses I might add lol, but on the whole, the former owners are delighted. Nice job Shane, enjoy. 👍
It was fairly steady going to be fair, worse part was unclipping the side panels. Do you make your own parts for your old clock repairs? Take it easy our friend, Shane and Lisa xx
From what im seeing online that particular machine is in the £200 bracket. But i dont know if it was the pods you used but that seemed a bit tight on the coffee lol. I will give it credit as i did see steam coming out of the cup. When i lived in yorkshire i did have a coffee machine that you use your own coffee granuals and you had 3 settings for strength and it also had a steamer for the milk but can not find one like it for the love of money. Hope you have a great week.
We saw some listings at that price too. Not sure how recent the model is but all working so all good. The espresso on its own is fine but not overly hot. When combined with the milk though it makes a real hot cup. The one you mention I think has a removable filter with handle out the front? All good here. Hope the same is true for you, Take it easy our friend. Shane and Lisa xx
@@ShaneAndLisa All i remember is i think i bought it at a supermarket when in yorkshire so would have been about 15 years ago. i think next time ill buy one that connects directly into a water supply so i dont have to keep filling it up lol
Well done Shane for fixing that. Great job and shows what can be done not only to save money but also the environment by avoiding landfill

Great job on fixing..👏👏
A little time and the cost of a bit to open the base so well worth it. Hope you are having a great weekend, Lisa xx
