  • Accra is the capital city of Ghana, located on the country's southern coast. The city has a rich history, dating back to the 15th century when it was an important trading center for the Ga people. Today, Accra is a vibrant and bustling city with a growing tourism industry. Some popular tourist destinations in Accra include the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the National Museum of Ghana, and the Labadi Beach.
Accra has a diverse range of architectural styles, reflecting its history as a British colony and its rapid growth as a modern African city. The city's skyline is dominated by tall buildings and skyscrapers, such as the 28-story World Trade Center Accra, which is the city's tallest building. There are also many colonial-era buildings in the Jamestown district, which was the city's original center.
Take a walking / flyover tour of Accra, with the best beaches, monumental buildings, traditional markets, lively nightlife and the capital of Ghana.
The city experiences a tropical savanna climate with two main seasons. The wet season runs from April to October, with heavy rainfall and temperatures averaging around 25-28 degrees Celsius or 77-82 degrees Fahrenheit. The dry season runs from November to March, with little to no rainfall and temperatures averaging around 28-32 degrees Celsius or 82-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
Accra is the largest city in Ghana and one of the largest cities in West Africa. According to the United Nations, the estimated population of Accra was approximately 3 million people as of 2020. The city has a diverse population with people from many ethnic groups, including Akan, Ga, Ewe, and Hausa, as well as migrants from other West African countries and beyond.
Accra has a rich and diverse cuisine influenced by its location on the coast and its position as a cultural hub in West Africa. Seafood is a prominent feature in many dishes, with grilled tilapia and red snapper being popular choices. The city is also known for its street food, which includes dishes such as jollof rice, kelewele (spicy fried plantains), and banku (a fermented corn and cassava dough).
Accra is a major economic center in West Africa and Ghana's largest city. The city's economy is driven by a diverse range of sectors, including agriculture, industry, and services. Accra is particularly known for its service sector, which includes financial services, telecommunications, and tourism. In recent years, the government has made efforts to promote foreign investment and develop the city's infrastructure, including transportation networks and modern office buildings. Despite facing some economic challenges in the past, Accra remains a significant hub for regional trade and commerce.

I love Accra. We need to plant a lot of trees. Trees will reduce the heat and help with pollution as well as give us shade.

Most part of accra is earthquake zones so very tall buildings in certain parts of the city doesn't permit tall buildings to an extent. As it is in the metropolitan building codes

We have all these for howany years now? We can't be proud of what we have have when those benefiting the most are the foreigners and politicians. We learnt in sch resources of Ghana, but we grew and realise is off no use.

A correction to be made. The ethnic groups are not called "a can" (but Akan), " a way" (but Ewe), "how soon" (but Hausa). Likewise, the dish is not called "Jaw or rice" but "Jollof rice". So, these have to be changed in the subtitles if that is possible.
