They really nailed the climax for this sequel. Colosseum was amazing, but XD totally nailed the epicness of the finale and the plot twist of Grand Master Greevil. This is one of those times when you see game sequels done right.
Wow amazing playthrough, the few things I quite enjoyed about this game and colosseum is that you can't really choose what pokes you can/can't have, moves are also limited in terms of tms/breeding so it becomes a nice challenge in comparison to the nds poke games. Also I like the concept of double battling throughout the game, definitely requires a different kind of playstyle. Gj on making such an amazing playthrough.

I like to compare Eldes and Ardos to the Kanto characters Red and Blue. Not just because of the color of their clothing, but their motives as well. Which is why in my Fire Red and Leaf Green, I always call my character Eldes and my rival Ardos.
There’s so much potential unused for Ardos and Eldes (it’s hard to say if Greevil would still be around by the time a potential third game would take place). That’s what inspired me to write scenes for a third Shadow Pokémon story
It’s not that hard if you bring some Shadow Pokémon like Salamence, Snorlax, and Lapras (as long as you have successfully snagged them) and put Greevil’s team to sleep and left an open slot in your team for Lugia
The first time of them all when someone fights you with seven Pokémon. Only B2W2 Ghetsis did that. Also, I thought I heard the Cipher a a a a a d m i n???? theme while Shadow Lugia was being “fought.” I also like that XD001 has a different Aura Reader response theme than the others.
I actually used the Master Ball in the second battle for one of the legendary birds. This was harder. I used the ultra balls for Shadow Lugia and have no issues. Just played the game for the first time too! Weird to go back before the physical/special split and no fairy types.
I just FINISH the game, hawlo... With Limited Ultra Balls (around 10) with other balls fewer than that... I DID IT!!! (Also with limited Healing Items)
@2:39 I'd actually disagree with this, just because if you save it for the very next fight you can insta-snag the last Pokemon (preferably one of the Legendary Birds) and end it early. Lugia is by itself, so you can easily take your time with it.
I thought about that, too, but the two times I've tried capturing Lugia on my own in the past it left me dry of resources because of how difficult it was to snag.
Okay thats what I figured.. I ordered XD on Mercari and got it for 85 bucks with a coupon and it appears to be in great condition. I'm trying to catch most of the shadows with ideal natures on my next playthrough. So it's nice to know I can save before each rematch and just catch one shadow at a time until I get the natures I desire. 🙂
@@renna4216 If you're planning on taking them all the way to Gen 8, don't worry too much, 'cause the new games have very easy ways of altering natures, EVs and IVs.

I had forgotten just how amazing these games were, and given how starved i was for amazing Pokemon content (given that Sword and Shield didnt deliver) seeing my past experience play out really made me desire a chance to play these again. @@timmy27571 Erm, might need some more rework. You have Jolteon AND Magneton and then you have Snorlax AND Tauros. I'd change Magneton and either of the normal types. You will need more variety if you want to get to the top of Mt Battle.
Yeah they can win it the process since every shadow attack is super effective to your pure pokemon The devs really knows you would want to capture every shadow pokemon and made a big challenge not just with these facts but also with the chosen pokemon
Robbing this old man of his entire team, legendary, and $5000 poké-dollars was peak 2000s Pokémon and I would give anything to relive that first play thru

I agree, especially in the modern day of gen7/8 where double battles are so much more fleshed out than they were in gen3. I had hope as a teenager back when gen5 released they'd do a new Shadow Pokemon game because of the Dream World Ability mechanic could open up options by having something like a "Purified" Ability or something. I wish The Pokemon Company would've given Genius Sorority another chance at a Shadow Pokemon game but I theorize that because Battle Revolution (kind of) flopped (judging by reviews) they wouldn't let them do another regular RPG Pokemon again.
Wow, Really amazingly wonderfully well done with this part, and now Cipher is beaten, but what amazes me, you have not only captured Shadow Lugia, but gotten all 6 of Greevils Shadow Pokémon, no doubt I took a heck ton of patients and focus and the right moves and such to complete that, well, now comes the After post game stuff, keep doing a wonderful job, I look forward to more.
So you using Your team that Already purified? I use all Full team Shadow Pokemon the strongest one... (Don't mind that Shadow Lugia exists on your team but I mean you using the most of your team was a Purified Pokemon)

Um Hawlo... So basically I check the endurance of the vid... And there is one mistake you doing along the vid... You didn't use timer ball... Timer Ball was powerful after 10 Turns... It could snag the legendary birds.. What do you think Hawlo?
Hmm... I use full party recent shadow Pokemon that I snag.... It take MORE than 10 turns because of the same type of "Shadow" That non effective against it's own type. so it was more Strong than ultra...
@@mulyabagussetiawan4149 There's no TM for False Swipe in XD, so you just have to keep an eye out for Pokemon that might have it when you purify them. It's just Shroomish, Mawile, Spearow, Paras, and Pinsir.
@@mulyabagussetiawan4149 You should be fine as long as you don't go back to a previous save after using a savestate. Like make sure your savestate is always after your save. If you save, then savestat back and save again, that's when you can get corrupted.

Correct, if you didn't catch them, since he's rematchable and the admins aren't.

Technically Lugia, I guess, for being the fastest and bulkiest of the four, but my favorite one is Zapdos. Depends on the generation, though.

Catching all of them in a single attempt is simple. If you want a real challenge, try catching Lugia using ONLY the regular Pokeballs

I think that you're right. It maxes out at turn 30, but by turn 10 it's as good as an Ultra Ball.
