    All the thousands of dogs needing a home just breaks my heart. They are all just as willing to love and learn.

      I wish with all my heart that ALL Organization's would First go to Rescue Shelters and Train them for People who have 'Special Needs'. There are thousands upon thousands of Dog's in Shelters that could be Trained to be an Emotional Support Dog.....the smaller dog's would be great for People with PTSD or 'Hearing Impaired'. Big Hugs for the people that Train these dog's to give love, help and Life back to those that lost it along their journey.

      @@ohhbobba3401 I’m so with you on that. One of the reasons the pounds are full is because of greedy people overbreeding them. And like you said, they could be trained to be service dogs. I saw somewhere a police department was taking pit bulls from the shelters and training them as police dogs. And I’ll tell ya what, they were damn impressive. So, compare a $150 dog vs a $30k Belgian, the $ and dogs saved is a win win in my eyes. It’s a good thing I don’t have a lot of money, because I’d buy some land and empty every shelter in the country, I swear I would.

      @@deborahchesser7375 a lot of Service dog programs decide to go with breeders just because it is easier. But I am going to be getting my Service Dog from Medical Mutts. They get their dogs mostly from shelters. They temperament test them and then train them for disabled people

      @@ohhbobba3401 You can just say disability instead of saying "special needs". But yeah, I am getting a service dog for my disability from a program called Medical Mutts. They first go to shelters and try to find dogs that have the right temperament for service dog work and then train them for people with disabilities that a Service dog could help them. Its a really nice place

    • @doggielover5587
      @doggielover5587 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well do you want to be disabled? I bet not! The only way you can get a service dog is if you are disabled. But you probably want a trained dog not a service dog which are task trained to help someone’s disability. If you are disabled then, great! You want a service dog but they take a lot of effort when you owner train and if you get them from a program then you will be on a two year waiting list. You have to be well ejected service dog laws. I recommend go to the ada ( Ada.gov).

      @@doggielover5587 relax, Im sure they just meant that they wanted a well trained pet, not a SD for a disability. And to De Guy, you can have a pet dog trained to this level, just practice, be consistent and have a good communication and expectations for the dog

      And the same thing does the store where you buy your clothes... they buy it at $2 dollar and they sell it to you at $80 dollar shirt 🤷🏾‍♂️....
      He is not selling the dog... he es selling the knowledge and work that needs the dog to help others....
      Or can you train the dog like him? If you can traind them... do it and give them for free...
