Interesting video. I moved away earlier than you. I left Vancouver two years after graduating from University, bought a one-way ticket to Hong Kong in 1989. I left Vancouver for several reasons but mainly for career prospects and discrimination. Glad I left as I never felt comfortable being in Canada since my family moved to Vancouver in 1976. I didn't feel comfortable in Vancouver right from the start. Glad I made the move and even though I'm financially secure, Canada is not on my list of places to retire. I'll invest in Canada but won't settle there. My situation is not unique as I'm among the 300,000 non-resident Canadians that live in HK.

You left when Canada was still not woke and broke but either way. Canada is not a country to invest in right now but your choice.

@@nicholasferreira6943 There was a lot of discrimination, salaries were low and taxes were already high in the 80s. Taxes were also getting wasted on lazy welfare recipients. My friend bought a new car and was behind on payments. He went to the Welfare office and the BC Government gave him three months of car payments. My friend was laughing while I was angry as I don't believe in welfare if a person is able to work. I knew right there the Gov't didn't care how they spent our hard earned taxes.

@@nicholasferreira6943 As for discrimination, a bus driver kicked everyone out of the bus as one of the passengers called him out for ridiculing an old Asian lady that was slow boarding the bus, pretending to speak Chinese to the lady in ching chang accent. The driver ordered everyone to get out of his bus and took off. That was in 1987. I'd rather have Woke than that type of discrimination.

@@nicholasferreira6943 Like all countries, there are always profitable pockets or areas to invest in even in Venezuela. I bought a house in Vaughan, refinance every seven years and buy another one. Shampoo, Conditioner, Rinse Repeat.

Technically, we can die anywhere and everywhere; so, everywhere and anywhere can be dangerous. Where you at by the way? Ain't people dying there too?
