I know it was the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the formation of the SFA, but we shouldn't have played this friendly. Getting humbled and thrashed by England is the best way to wreck the morale of a Scotland squad, and they haven't won 4 games on the bounce since. The SFA were obviousy thinking more about the money it would bring in rather than long term consequences of a bad result. Thankfully we qualified for Euro 2024, but we need to win some of the friendlies before it in order to regain our confidence

D Rice is strategically more expensive since the whole mid defense line of a team counts on him and he also have good attacking participation. Also he’s proved on EPL level already. As we can tell when these 2 play together, Rice’s only job is to find Jude and Jude can focus more on attacking side. It’s just a lot easier for everybody. A tier one CDM is the most expensive position nowadays and it’s rare. Yet Jude is exceptional and if he plays or is proved in premier league, he would be one of a kind $$$$$$
I’m just so optimistic for the future that I want to say we could be looking at possibly the best a England player of all time. I said it, I know it’s too early but just look at what he is doing and he will continue to get better. Look where he is at and the class of the players he is with now.

So it doesn't happen EVER. He did contribute to a lot of the opponents goals but overall he's a great defender. If you deny that you're speaking against the facts, his market value, his stats, even pretty much every neutral expert opinion. If you want an even better defender that's fair, you can say that, you want the best in the world, but just making up things doesn't help.
That kind of instinct from Maguire, just can't be taught.
