I was an England fan in the Away end this day. I’ll never forget the place when Scotland took the lead. I just watched it all, took it all in and said to my mate ‘wow’. That’s what football is all about. Thank god we equalised though. Brilliant day and night. Opposing fans applauded each other afterwards. Even the police applauded the England fans just before letting us out. One of the best, most emotionally charged games I’ve been to.

I was at this match. side on to that second goal. The ball left his foot like a nuclear rocket. Never have I heard a roar like it. The Hampden roar. Absolute joy. We were losing minutes earlier, the draw was sore, but what a day. Had a drink with several England fans after. Great stuff. A superb day.
Watching this on my telly at home, this may the only time I have shouted at the absolute top of my lungs, I was just overcome. The draw wasn't bad, just the manner of the 2nd made it seem like a loss, but the real pain came a few months later when we drew against Slovenia - that was the sorest I have felt as a Scotland fan possibly ever.
Regardless of the game or the teams, I love to watch crowd reaction to goals. But I've never seen a reaction like this. Usually there are pockets of fans who either lose it completely or who jump up and down ,clapping. EVERY Scot lost it completely. It is by far the greatest reaction to a goal I've seen, surpassing even the Aguero goal, Martin Tyler 's commentary was the icing-on-the-cake. I was almost disappointed when we equalized.......almost. Huge respect to our Scottish cousins.

Hazzajamwich have you seen him play? Not sure what's wrong with him, has a fabulous strike on him (as seen here) and good technique. Sure, he's not best at link-up play and he's not really a threat in the air, but other than that he's all you need from a striker

we did, it was called the home nations cup, england threw a dummy and refused to play, citing the opposition was not on thier level, most people agree it saves them the embarrasment of getting beat.

You have to admit though, after England left, England went on to make semi finals of tournaments and scotland stopped qualifying. The English were right in what they were doing. Craig Gordon is absolutely shocking. He makes some amazing saves at times but also makes schoolboy errors way too often. He got away with the header to Kane who then almost lobbed him. He then doesn't control the ball and kicks it out for the throw in where Scotland concede the first goal. First goal was right at him, he moved out the way and slapped it in the net, just shocking 7 year old stuff. Second goal he didn't come out of his six yard box to claim a ball and instead chose to stand on his line waiting for Kane to score from 2 yard......2 yards.....2 yards from a lofted cross......that's basic easy keeping?? Absolute shocking keeper and should be ashamed after that performance.
No he's definetely not, he's a good shot stopper and that's it. He was at fault for both of Scotland's goals against England, basic schoolboy stuff, he does the hard stuff then lets in easy horrible goals. He makes mistakes for Celtic all the time, he's useless. Marshall is 20x better mate. He'd be back up for me, I'm surprised he hasn't been dropped for Celtic, probably because he doesn't have much to do, but when he does he gets found out easy.
It was an excellent game. Leigh Griffiths could have been so much more. I think Scotland deserved the win if I'm honest as an Englishman who values fair play. We got out of jail on this occasion. 150 years. Both nations should be incredibly proud of what we gave to the world. May the best team win tonight on this special anniversary.

Watching this on my telly at home, this may the only time I have shouted at the absolute top of my lungs, I was just overcome. The draw wasn't bad, just the manner of the 2nd made it seem like a loss, but the real pain came a few months later when we drew against Slovenia - that was the sorest I have felt as a Scotland fan possibly ever.
Regardless of the game or the teams, I love to watch crowd reaction to goals. But I've never seen a reaction like this. Usually there are pockets of fans who either lose it completely or who jump up and down ,clapping. EVERY Scot lost it completely. It is by far the greatest reaction to a goal I've seen, surpassing even the Aguero goal, Martin Tyler 's commentary was the icing-on-the-cake. I was almost disappointed when we equalized.......almost. Huge respect to our Scottish cousins.
Would love to see Griffiths try his wings in the Premier League, with a mid-table side where he would get game time. And it would be great if he had a big, physical number 9 next to him, would get his best side out.

Hazzajamwich have you seen him play? Not sure what's wrong with him, has a fabulous strike on him (as seen here) and good technique. Sure, he's not best at link-up play and he's not really a threat in the air, but other than that he's all you need from a striker

I’m English but them two goals by griffiths still make the hairs on my arms stand up. Draw was a fair result but football won that day. We should have an annual old enemy match.
we did, it was called the home nations cup, england threw a dummy and refused to play, citing the opposition was not on thier level, most people agree it saves them the embarrasment of getting beat.
@@thelastdruidofscotland to be fair, the home nations tournament was getting stale for all the nations involved. You have to admit though, after England left, England went on to make semi finals of tournaments and scotland stopped qualifying. The English were right in what they were doing. The level wasnt what it used to be in the 70s and 80s.

Craig Gordon is absolutely shocking. He makes some amazing saves at times but also makes schoolboy errors way too often. He got away with the header to Kane who then almost lobbed him. He then doesn't control the ball and kicks it out for the throw in where Scotland concede the first goal. First goal was right at him, he moved out the way and slapped it in the net, just shocking 7 year old stuff. Second goal he didn't come out of his six yard box to claim a ball and instead chose to stand on his line waiting for Kane to score from 2 yard......2 yards.....2 yards from a lofted cross......that's basic easy keeping?? Absolute shocking keeper and should be ashamed after that performance.

No he's definetely not, he's a good shot stopper and that's it. He was at fault for both of Scotland's goals against England, basic schoolboy stuff, he does the hard stuff then lets in easy horrible goals. He makes mistakes for Celtic all the time, he's useless. Marshall is 20x better mate. He'd be back up for me, I'm surprised he hasn't been dropped for Celtic, probably because he doesn't have much to do, but when he does he gets found out easy.

It was an excellent game. Leigh Griffiths could have been so much more. I think Scotland deserved the win if I'm honest as an Englishman who values fair play. We got out of jail on this occasion. 150 years. Both nations should be incredibly proud of what we gave to the world. May the best team win tonight on this special anniversary.

These are still 2 of my favorite goals to watch from a neutral standpoint. Griffiths goals and the crowds reactions are outstanding. Next time though, you guys should rush the field so England doesn't have time to score an equalizer xD.
