An RV Caravan Tour is a great place for Newbies to RV Life to start too. If you are just heading out on the road, you can dip your toes into the lifestyle with a safety net of people looking out for you, offering tips and having help immediately available should something go wrong. You also have the opportunity to build your "Tribe" and make new friends. Its like a dress rehearsal before you go out there and do all the planning and travel days on your own.
Wow! Well said Wild Daisy! This is a very logical advantage & perk for a beginner that we totally missed to discuss because we have been at this for 7 years. Thank you for the comment.
Thanks for the support Paul! We are on the 31 Day Traverse Michigan Tour as we speak! We have been very busy on the trip so far, and tomorrow's group breakfast will be a fun change of pace! Then in the evening, tomorrow, we are going to a "broadway caliper" play at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts!
My family stayed at that campground in the 90s. In a pop up camper.. rolled in about midnight.. woke up in the morning to a view that was breathtaking..
Love you guys, I'm 70 years old, lifelong Michigander, I enjoy your kids so much, just a tip, it's not pronounced Mackinac even though it's spelled that way, it's pronounced mackinaw
glad to hear you're coming to the better side of the big lake. You will enjoy the Michigan trip. We spend August in the northern part of out great state in our Canyon Star. I understand your concern about the east coast. I feel the same way.
FYI: Mackinac Island and Mackinaw City are both pronounced the same, “Mackinaw”. One is the French spelling and the other is the Native American spelling. BTW: we have done the Adventure Caravan tour of the Canadian Maritimes and would do it again in a flash. Made many friends and loved everything we saw.
When we booked the 31 Day Grand Circle Western National Parks Tour, we LOVED knowing we were going, for REAL, with all our plans made, all set, the moment we pulled out the Visa Card and got on the guest list!
Looking forward to your future travels with Adventure Caravan. We are doing the 63 day Adventure Caravan to Alaska this summer. We would love to travel with you guys on a future caravan.
Hope you go on the tour to Michigan. That’s where I’m from. McKinnell is a good place to go go there and have pasties and fudge pasties are like having a pie and it’s got meat potatoes. You can have rutabaga and carrots or you can just have a veggie one, but they are very good and so is the fudge. You’ll have fun there and it’s beautiful this time of year! Safe travels have a great week and see you soon!
Glad you liked them! That was the BEST RVing season we ever had! GETTING to the Caravan location, BEING on the Caravan and then HANGING AROUND the area we just finished exploring!
Your Traversing Michigan series is riveting, and I can hardly wait for your next videos to drop. Yours is the channel I first learned of Adventure Caravans; I would like to do the Great River Road and Fall Colors tour in 2026, God's willing. 💙❤️🤍
We are looking at the Great River Road as well. That is a great trip to go on to see & learn things along the way as you "relocate" as a snowbird for the winter season to come!
Really enjoyed last summers travels, so these next interesting. We're about two years from taking these trips and this will give us a good look at them. Cheers 🍻.
I love how your channel has mature in the content, in the beginning you were both leaning your way around a RV and helping us all Learn with you. Now with the years of experience behind you. You both bring the best ways to see the USA and explain the in and outs of Caravanning. I bet those empty spots will fill quickly because you are going and how you lay it all out for your viewers. We head to our next NASCAR RACE next week. Look forward to see you in June…
We are way more prepared for this Caravan now that we went on the first one. Looking forward to catching up with you and Kathy at the 2024 NIRVC Music City Motorhome Expo in Lebanon TN June 4th-7th 2024 musiccitymotorhomeexpo.com/
My wife and I were really looking forward to following your Alaska trip. Congrats on the barter deal for the MI & East coast trip. Maybe Alaska next year???
o0 years ago me and the family were on macanac island. a man riding a bike layed the bike down rite in front of a group of six horses pulling people from one end of town to the hotel. the driver of the six horse coach came out of the store but did not see the bike in front of the horse. the horse got his hoof stuck in the bike spokes... all the horses went nuts. luckily all the people hat were on the coach were in the store. but the driver and coach flipped over trying to make the turn a couple streets down. the drriver was hurt. wagon coach was unrecognizable. there is a very very nice campground that looks directly at the macanac bridge....have a great trip. macanac was aewsome. spend a nite in the macinac hotel
Congratulations on your two Grand Caravan Adventures. It is a win win win deal. Your content will help promote the caravans, You will have a great time , And we will get to come along For the trip. You always put out great content. Thank you . And safe travels.
That is awesome news that you are working with Adventure Caravans. Barb and I loved “going along” with you guys on the first one. We can’t wait to see the next two. Stay safe out there.
We are glad you will be in our state. Wish we could but have doctor appointments I need to go to. Maybe we could get lucky and see you at one of your stops.
Love the Buckatabon Tshirt! Still need to go there in the Tosa village sometime. Thanks for the information and post. Trip you’re planning should be great.
What happened to the Alaska trip you we're planning on taking. We are headed to Nashville at the end of June for our retrobands and then on to upstate NY for the month of July. Hope to see you guys out on the road one day. Until then enjoy your journey in myles.
Alaska was canceled due to costs when our Motorhome Gray Tank Failure popped up. That was about $10k to fix. We are basically living off our pensions, SS and TH-cam earnings,.........and are just making it!
Sue and Mark, Very informative video. As I watch this video we are deep into planning our Canadian Maritime trip starting in mid-June. We are way behind the curveball on the planning but that is oar for the course for us (I apologize for mixing metaphors in the same sentence). We have two ferry rides reserved but camp site, not so much. If only someone else could plan our trip...
Hey Jim,.........sounds like you guys will be going some serious RVing this summer! Yikes,.... Loved the wordsmithing about the mixed doubles of metaphors,...
After watching your video on the Grand Circle tour, I booked the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival with Adventurer Caravans. Campsite was very difficult to get our 5th wheel level, took many hour of hand digging to make it work (wasn’t their fault and the gentleman that worked with them were a huge help). The negative experience was the food. I wish they would have the option not to pay for meals. We eat the vegan lifestyle, I’m also lactose intolerant) and I said that on the form but there wasn’t anything we could eat. So we enjoyed other’s company during meal time and went back to the camper to eat. We also missed out on the tram ride up to the Sandi’s Peak ,the equipment broke down when we arrived . So that’s the gamble you take with these tours, you don’t get your money back if yours are canceled 😩. If they would give us the option not paying for meals I think we would go again but still on the fence. I’ll be watching for your adventure with them though! Love you guys!
The Traverse MI Caravan will be a very different style than the Grand Circle Tour was. Change is good, and we are looking forward to all the adventures already planned for us!
Hey Mark, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you guys! You have really gotten older since I saw you last! That adventure caravan thing is something. Sounds like you and Sue hit the jackpot!!! Take care!
We are excited for the opportunity to show folks what RV Caravans are all about! We have a goal. We want to capture the excitement & feel of the trip that seasoned full-timers like us will experience.
Finally you are coming to Michigan. We will be "traversing" our home state like a dunk slug this summer. Maybe we will cross paths. You will enjoy. BTW, it's Mac -in-naw as in awe. What an honor!
Would love to stop by and say hi when you're in the "neighborhood." We know there are a couple spots you're going to have to drag Mark out of at Greenfield village / Henry Ford musuem.... probably the factory tour as well. This osunds like a company I'd love to work for / with to set up the tours.
The wagon masters & tail gunners all seem to LOVE THEIR JOBS! And because of the volume of tours, and usual retirement age of most of the employees, they are always looking for guides. First step to become one, is you have to go on a tour to see what it all involves.
Hi Mark and Sue! Had it Ben two years already with the caravan? Wow! That went by quick. I was going to ask you about doing another one. If you were or not. They look like fun.
Mackinaw Island, is the proper pronunciation. Traverse City is my home town. Enjoy, absolutely beautiful area. A lot of history and amazing amazing beauty. Watch “ Somewhere in Time” with Christopher Reeves and Jane Semore filmed on Mackinaw Island. Read up on the Soo Locks. Have fun!
Surprised you missed the NIRVC customer appreciation rally in Sevierville TN. Keep an eye out as they are going to open the sine up for next year at Texas Motor Speedway.
Yes it should be fun. I declined to go because I am not looking and wanted to let those who were looking have my spot. You should come to Texas Motor speedway it will be fun.@@OurJourneyInMyles
We plan on being up in the NE area just before t he start of that Historic East Coast America Tour. I'm planning on being up at the Arcadia National Park a few days earlier. I'll work on my better half to see if I can get her interested :-) BTW, if you're still in Chattanooga area (looks like you're at the KOA there) I highly recommend visiting the Aquarium downtown. It is awesome !
Nice! Unfortunately we will be in Michigan later this summer, but in many of the same areas. I'll have to look for "Myles was here" signs. Hope you both have a great time! And yes, we native mitten people call them both Mackinaw.
I wanted to wait until I could talk one on one with Service Manager Justin Townley from NIRVC-Atlanta. A few videos got in front of it, AND we are only publishing every other week lately. Video will be out May 19th 2024.
Hello, your videos from the start of your travels are some of the most informative and entertaining on TH-cam. Thank you. In particular, are there rig restrictions on the caravan tours? Age, condition, size, or simply type of RV. Thanks, Ryan and Tonya
For the most part, no there are no restrictions. If a campground has a certain restriction, we make sure to coordinate with the campground and make sure everyone is placed accordingly. I am guessing you must be self contained, no pop-ups or cars. We had a number of rigs on our Grand Circle Caravan that were 10 plus years old, but in good shape.
@OurJourneyInMyles Thanks, yes of course, self-contained, was the caravan a mix of motorhome, pull behind. Or mostly motorhome. Average age of people. Thank you
@@ryandavis2227 On our August 2022 31 Day Grand Circle Western National Parks Caravan Guided RV Tour we had 22 rigs. I am guessing we had 3 fifth wheels, 1 small pull behind travel trailer, 1 class B "Trivago Style", 2 small class C and 15 class A. Average age was about 65, and most were VERY good looking!
Nice job. Would you recommend a Caravan trip for someone Brand New to the RV world? Hope to begin end of this year. Put in a lot of ‘research’ so far. Seems having a planned trip would be a good way to get started.
Yes, absolutely! I think the less you have to think about in the beginning, the better. I would of course camp for a while in your rig first to make sure it is road ready,........even if you are buying new. Additionally, it is important that BOTH travel partners are having their soul fed. Select a Caravan that will trip both of your triggers. The Fabulous Florida one looks like a ton of fun!
I was showing my wife the trips listed, she is asking how many people do they allow on a trip, and how much do you have to put down payment. Thanks From Wisconsin
I think most trips are capped at 20, plus the Wagon Master and Tail Gunner crews. On our Grand Circle Western National Park, we had two "sol" travels. Here is a link to the Adventure Caravans "Terms and Conditions" page on their website: adventurecaravans.com/company/about-us/terms-conditions/
Mark. I am about to pull the trigger on buying a motorhome As you know I love the Newmar line. I have been looking also at the Entegra line. Just curious to know if you feel there is a significant difference in towing between the 605 and 405 HP engines. I know that I will be towing a toad maybe a Jeep Wagoneer. I like the Newmar Essex but after looking at the Entegra I like both the Cornerstone and Anthem. The big draw back on thiem is there is no emergency egress door on the Entegra line nor do they have the push button start. Do you have any comments for me that you can share. please let me know know. If you can email me you have my email starting with pastor. Thank you in advance for your assistance
Hey Buddy! You asked for it! Personally,......I am afraid of many things in motorhomes. In this day & age, for a company to STILL be designing a $700k MH without a fire door is idiotic to me. I would never buy one. I would never drive without Retrobands installed in the front tires. I would never want a Spartan Frame. If all you are towing is a Wagoneer, you do NOT need a 605HP. The 450HP is fine for 99.9% of your driving. Driving a Motorhome slow & steady is your best chance to make it through "unscathed"! Comfort Drive is mandatory, or some copycat of the system. I suggest you VERIFY all my answers by calling Angie Morell at NIRVC! She forgot more about RV's than I currently know,....
Welcome Nancy,.........take care of our girl Cyndi! We love her,.........but next time you see her she owes Mark a loaf of Banana & Zucchini Bread. Each loaf should be 18" long.
Not visiting Michigan has been a big mistake that most people make. Not sure how so many people don't notice Michigan is surrounded by water. Do you know what water means, incredible beaches and views
Wow we are full timers who live in Ooltewah TN which is part of Chattanooga. We went to Savannah last year because of your video about it. Would have loved to meet you if we would have known you were here. What campground did you stay at?
Each and EVERY National Park, State Park, National Monument, BLM Land, Waterway, Lighthouse, Historical Landmark, Fort, the National Mall in Washington DC, ANYTHING that is managed by the park system or government requires a permit for a TH-camr because you are considered commercial filming. This is whether or are not you are monetized. YT makes money even if you are not. Permits are free but cost $100 to $300 in "application fees" depending on the park. They take 1 month to secure and get in hand. You have to predict the exact day and time and location in the park you will be filming. If you are denied, there is no refund. And here is the corker, you need to have a 1 million dollar general liability insurance policy with the National Park Service listed as the payee. This is the link that explains it all: www.nps.gov/aboutus/news/commercial-film-and-photo-permits.htm We have been priced out. Channels that are still doing NP are either taking the legal risk, or are big enough to afford this.
We may never make it to Alaska. Our rig is old enough that I think I want to take it easy on the ole boy! We have so many other 48 state continental USA caravans to go on, we may just do that!
We chose Florida. You have to really do your research when making the decision. Make sure the articles you are reading are CURRENT. Make sure your health insurance will work there. Only a few states have RV Insurance for FULL-TIMERS. Don't say you are Part Time when you really aren't! We are being MURDERED on our RV and Honda insurance costs. The carriers assume your RV will be blown away in a hurricane. If I could do thins over, I would have chose South Dakota or Montana or one of those states. Do your research! Not Texas. You have to return every year to have your RV Inspected.
An RV Caravan Tour is a great place for Newbies to RV Life to start too.
@@OurJourneyInMylesthanks for the advice I’ll definitely look into it thanks 😊
Hi I’m Nancy and I’m Cyndi friend
Welcome Nancy,.........take care of our girl Cyndi! We love her,.........but next time you see her she owes Mark a loaf of Banana & Zucchini Bread. Each loaf should be 18" long.
Not visiting Michigan has been a big mistake that most people make. Not sure how so many people don't notice Michigan is surrounded by water. Do you know what water means, incredible beaches and views
We agree. We have been spoiled living on the westside of Michigan living in Wisconsin!
Wow we are full timers who live in Ooltewah TN which is part of Chattanooga. We went to Savannah last year because of your video about it. Would have loved to meet you if we would have known you were here. What campground did you stay at?
We are still here,........ourjourneyinmyles@gmail.com
@@OurJourneyInMylesI will email you, we are currently at Tim’s Ford State Park near Winchester TN, will be home on Tuesday
What are these “Permits” you speak of? Thanks.
Alaska? Ya ain't getting any younger.
I am up north at the cabin ...no cruise for us this spring😢
We may never make it to Alaska. Our rig is old enough that I think I want to take it easy on the ole boy! We have so many other 48 state continental USA caravans to go on, we may just do that!

We are about to begin Full Time. Just curious which state you guys chose as your residence? Tks!
I meant to use the term domicile.
