So much better than modern over produced DAW techno. The 90s were the greatest decade to be young and go to techno clubs. No mobile phones, just people into it with no distraction.
DAW have so many tools at hand which make producing so overkill and usually set an unnecessary high standard for artist. Think hardware! In the old days so many people start with nothing but a bunch of machine plays together, no money for studio nor expensive processing unit. People have to make the most use out of what they have, live tweak on the go and improvise, that's why oldschool stuffs have this organic feeling to it (in my opinion) that make it a staple of the genre. Slight offbeat and out of sync in the modern age is a error, in the old days it's a feeling.
Yeeeeesssssssss!!!!!!!!!! Fiiiiiiiilthy!!!!!!! I need a keyboard…. I’ve a td-3,td-3MO and a tr-8s….. Only just starting out but when I watch you guys kick the Bollix outta them,I see the potential for absolute destruction!!!!! Love it!!!!! 👍🇮🇪😵💫👏
Thanks, I was looking for inspiration to use this Volca FM I have, and sequencing it with the Keystep was the answer. I would like to also run it threw the SP 404 MKII when it arrives.
man u showed me some basics to this genre and u showed me that is so fukin good to have a drum machine damn i want so bat the tr8s. This pov video is so nice and helpful to understand
Wow ur cool dude just 3 machine not include midi lol so freaking flow Im dancing in my room like helll in covid-19 situation this dude really cure me And this sound so real Detroit techno Respect from Thailand take care dude
Nice sequence, solid pattern, good arrangement; that makes this track groove! Amazing! One question: is there any compression used here, particularly on the tr-8?
Tr-8 has compression on kick and snare, both with their own designated knob. It sounds like there is some comp on the kick in this case. There is also sidechain built in to the tr-8, where you can route audio through the drummachine and apply side chain compression per step via the sequencer. Don't think he's using that feature in this video.
the roland tr is the master clock, and syncs the keystep via midi in this video. the volca sequencer is not used, it just plays an empty pattern as its sequenced by the keystep. no other devices to sync in this video.
Can i do what u did on my Arturia?, i have the arturia keylab essential,do u know if it records lol i can't find out how to do it, i have had it for over a year.

i love the fact that most of the old techno was make the most of what you have.
100% honest, zero time-wasting, nice one.
The person talking in the background at 3:38 is perfectly on time
04-05-2023.......This one Tutorial made me Sub. this Channel.....when I thought I had enough channels....BRAVO!!!!

Nice to see someone with all the gear who actually has an idea.... how to use them properly - this is great
very rare to find ''real'' techno how to's...nice one!
Thanks a lot for making the effort to make this - the annotations are a big help and take some of the mystery out of what it takes to do a great jam.

Music is simple and that inspires me as a very good example of simplicity. Jam is good enough. Descriptions are very educative! Thanks a lot for that!
This is a beautiful track. Great job. Great live performance
Funky.. äußerst tanzbar!! So simpel und doch so gut!
Mills used a DX100 in a ton of his work. Not a surprise you can capture quite a decent Mills-vibe with the Volca!
Great track !! And most of all thanks for all your explanations during the creation of your track. It helps a lot to understand 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Cool stuff! And I always wondered what it would be for the viewer to watch a POV set. I put my cameras static always. But I see it is not bad at all.

And this sound so real Detroit techno

Beauty
Do you find the Volca FM is really effortless to get these techno kind loops going?
Just coincidentally clicked on a video of my EXACT setup while trying to figure out what to do with my fm
Except I have a tr-8s
Nice sequence, solid pattern, good arrangement; that makes this track groove! Amazing!
One question: is there any compression used here, particularly on the tr-8?

The lead is nice :))
Hell yeah!
You rock man \m/
pretty sweet
Yo, Men... C'est pour quand un Album ou un EP ?
Say I wanted to start producing some acid, what equipment is best? And how do you record?
Yeah man
I have a roland TR-6S and one Arturia like you, than , how do you synk tempo for everything?
the roland tr is the master clock, and syncs the keystep via midi in this video. the volca sequencer is not used, it just plays an empty pattern as its sequenced by the keystep. no other devices to sync in this video.
Can i do what u did on my Arturia?, i have the arturia keylab essential,do u know if it records lol i can't find out how to do it, i have had it for over a year.
Do you have the 7x7 expansion on the the tr8?
yes, it has the 7x7 expansion installed.
