The price thing is what kills me, even at my shop. I have people walking around with their phones price checking everything and if it's $5 over a Amazon, Ebay, or TCG listing you get the "well I can buy it cheaper on...." and I finally just started "pulling a Rob" and tell them "This is Decks & Dice. Not Amazon/Ebay/TCG. If you're gonna complain about $5 difference, where you can get the product right here, right now and not run the risk of getting GI-Joe cards in your packs, then go save your $5" Is that harsh? Sometimes. But a lot of people don't get pissed off at all. It's like being that blunt puts it into perspective for them and if they don't come back? Cool. In all reality I probably didn't want that kind of "fair weather" customer anyways.
I’m evil and greedy I was told the other day for charging 199 for surging sparks. I told them MSRP if you want to take base set SV with it but both for MSRP……. Crickets
I would have taken that deal, SV base set is one of the most underrated base sets ever printed. Just go back and look at how trash DP/XY/SM/SwSh base sets really are in terms of singles, and compare it to some of the absolute bangers found in SV base set. Gardevoir family, Riolu, Greavard, Drowzee, Dondozo, and others are all going to be highly sought after. Just the fact that some of these cards while still being printed already compare in price to those sets that have been out of print for years should be proof enough that SV base set could very well stand as king when it’s out of circulation.
Sellers get to charge whatever they want. Buyer gets to buy whatever they want. That’s the beauty of free market. If I don’t like the price, I just don’t buy it. I’m ok with buying singles and wait for the opportunity to buy sealed. If I missed out, I can get over it. I suggest people be patient and not pick up the pitchforks.
Those $29.99 tin's look mighty sexy don't they.... Man, I might have to book a flight out to KY fly out to buy them before he sells out. Wait a minute, $29.99?

Good video. The only kind of people who ask those Ludacris questions are the ones who've never ran a business. Folks....go start and run a business. You'd be crickets then. It's hard and this man is doing the lords work for some of you. Keep it up!
Remember during the pandemic when you made that hot dog analogy and it flew over peoples heads and you got the weirdest hate? Well… I think those times are coming back. The real ones know you’re a real one.
@@GH02T. simply put… just because someone sells a $10 or $20 hot dog it doesn’t mean you have to buy it from them. The hot dogs were analogous to the price of some of the goods at the time. And he was right then and it’s applicable as much today.
Still resisting the urge to buy a rope after opening my 70ish packs that I bought at 12.50 per. I got absolutely nothing, but could have profited over 1k by selling sealed. Genuinely one of the worst mistakes of my life and I have yet to live it down or pay it off 😮💨 Now any time I see evolving scams mentioned I just get depressed and think about how stupid I am. I saw 5 sleeves selling for 125 on eBay the other day. I had 28 of those.
Mason, can you please address the dumb dumbs that think collection boxes like the recent Sam's Club Crown Zenith Sea and Sky premium collection are made because Pokemon "had a backstock of packs to get rid of?"
I miss the days when my LGS charged less than big box retailers. Question if the set just came out who is marking up BBs to $200. Is it pokemon? Is it distribution? Or is it the LGS. PS I'm not hating on anyone for having a profitable business. Seems like it was less than a week after release, and BBs went up to $150, and now it's $200. Is it just because the demand is so high and supply can't keep up?
all 3 are marked up, distribution is paying more so they mark it up to stores and then stores have to mark it up even more to make profit. for example most booster boxes are around 90-95 each store cost but right now surging sparks is 185 store cost for the few that even have boxes available.
The reason they are selling so high is that retail stores get bought out, LGS know what they have, and moronic customers will pay anything to get in on FOMO which supports the price just continuing to rise until hype inevitably dies down.
Customer's do "care" when they see your ETB's are all look to cost $50. Nobody in Pokemon want to pay $50 for 1 single etb, especially for terrible sets. Your @29.99 tin's are over market price as well. I understand you have to keep product in stock, you WOULD increase margins if you had correct market pricing. Your prices look like this to the customer... "well let me support CNA, he's a small business". Your customers never feel like they've just got a great deal or even a market deal on the sealed product. Your single booster packs, yeah maybe.. but not sealed.
Your logic might be sound if he had unlimited supply, but in the Pokemon world you will more often than not be out of stock with no way to get more, thus making higher prices actually about as or more profitable in the long term. Not to mention you need to keep things on your shelf or you’ll wind up like my locals who sold all their boxes for 130 in the time I was standing there.
Mason you did the $7 hotdog conversation excellently. The only people it didn’t correlate with, is those that believe you should be a charity worker and lose money on every transaction you make. Those people aren’t even worth responding to, they want to stay in their own doom and gloom vacuum chamber bubble.
Is this guy on whippits? Respekfly 😂
My man Mason walking into frame, holding the comments, like an absolute ice cold killa!!
It was the dropping of the glasses on the counter for me... Love it CNA. Love it.
That Umbreon Vmax lenticular poster in the background tho

The fact that people are asking whether they should speculate on new boxes that are up 100% is nuts. A fool and his money and all that.
1:28 sounds like we’re both stirring up the crazy comments lately lol
Buy and collect what you like, and you'll never be wrong.

"Mason, surging sparks are valued at $200 online, why are you selling them at $200?! Overmarket!!" lol some people man.
If you frequent yard sales, you'll find people haggling over pennies.
Those $29.99 tin's look mighty sexy don't they.... Man, I might have to book a flight out to KY fly out to buy them before he sells out. Wait a minute, $29.99?
This man does not suffer fools gladly 😂 The removing of glasses needs to become a meme :)
Absolutely love your channel. Thanks for the vid!
I like the way you phrased the last point. 👍 Nice video, sir.
Mason is willing to answer everyone’s comments and is incredibly candid.
Trolling and spewing hate and idiocracy does nothing to help the hobby. Sure challenge him if you want but do so respectfully
Solid video. You are 95% right as always. Good job, thank you.

To add on to "videos (beatings) will continue until morale improves". I tell my wallet this all the time
Always great to see Mason pop in.
He’s baaaaaaack. Miss you ❤
Mason is the Pokémon Mayor! 💪
when did fusion strike get a reprint?
Great video once again. Appreciate you Mason.
Love your channel! ❤
Are hot dogs included with the price of admission on the hype train?
Lol, I love your take on things, reactions are funny, keep it up bud 👍😂

Seems like there is a lack of deck boxes and sleeves in your store
😂
Without stores to go being a kid is so much less fun and magical.
Whew, those sticker prices inside CNA's shop are high. Market price and some.
Remember during the pandemic when you made that hot dog analogy and it flew over peoples heads and you got the weirdest hate? Well… I think those times are coming back. The real ones know you’re a real one.
I'm curious about the analogy. Can u explain
@@GH02T. simply put… just because someone sells a $10 or $20 hot dog it doesn’t mean you have to buy it from them. The hot dogs were analogous to the price of some of the goods at the time.

$899.00 - Good price for Evolving Skies. It just broke 950 on tgc this weekend.

Was not expecting an economics lesson… good on you dude 😂
Mason is definitely a solid business man. Love the content. Keep it up
Doesn't even charge original retail on Evolving Skies. Total bad guy
The 7$ hotdog makes it return!!! 🌭🚀 Love how people dont understand basic business, like they’re mad you won’t rip yourself off
Awesome work maso
lol I didn’t finish the video before my last comment and now I see you did mention the hot dog video 😂 so hot dog mason is officially back.
Mason, can you please address the dumb dumbs that think collection boxes like the recent Sam's Club Crown Zenith Sea and Sky premium collection are made because Pokemon "had a backstock of packs to get rid of?"
whats this guy waffling about?absolute bull crap!!🤣

Shops don't get as many as they wanted to order. You could've ordered 50,000 cases and still get allocated 5.
I call BS... complete utter BS.... This entire thing.... Look at it!?!? Why is there no price tag on the Pikachu on the top shelf? =)
What do you wish customers knew that they rarely seem to know?
This guy's awesome
Lay some thicc knowledge on them!

You bought Apple stock at 100. Why are you selling at 200??? 👿👿👿
Relax bud, lmao

After months of therapy I've been able to move past the criticism.
