For Empire I would like either completely new engine, capable of simulating ~100 times more troops, or some limited scale. Being history fan, the only thing i hated about Empire, Napoleon, Rome - was the fact battles were absolutely TINY, 1 warrior represented 100 (!) warriors IRL. Similar situation with cities - Shogun or Brittania represented nearly all important cities when Empire, Napoleon or even Rome - 9 out of 10 cities IRL were omitted completely. They need to keep their cashcow which is making total war for other franchises e.g. warhammer, star wars, power puff girls, whatever. But whilst this is going on and raking in the fat stacks they need to maintain a historical side that ACTUALLY DOES historical, not pseudo-historical with fantasy and MMO RPG elements bolted on awkwardly like some fucking mutant mengele experiment to 'appeal broadly' because it doesn't appeal broadly, it pisses everyone off because it's convoluted.
Total War Warhammer is absolutely awesome, if you are not playing it you are really missing out. But you are right some lately have been hit and misses. A really great 40K Total War on the same level as Warhammer Total War would be so awesome! We will see
I understand it’s not plausible, but I really think that they should do a medieval three but also add in the political and intrigue in depth system of crusader Kings. I love total war and a huge fan but feel like this part has always been lacking to the depth. Crusader Kings goes and is something that I don’t think would be as hard to program in comparison to what they’ve already achieved.
It's a lot more complicated than things like Warhammer and Star Wars though, 99% of people only know bits of the lore and world from the films. Most haven't read the books and other associated works and it's a very vast scope in terms of time periods covered and geography, a lot of it also isn't very fleshed out so there would be a lot of liberties that would need to be ironed out like with the new factions in Warhammer total war that haven't had much material to work with. It'd be really hard. But I'd pay a few hundred £ and not whine like a bitch if it's shorter than some other title. I hope they do someday.
I mean. It wouldn't be that much different other than the map and story. Orks, elves , dwarves, trolls, giant spiders... You get all that in Warhammer Tw already. Wouldn't make much sense to do Lord Of The Rings.
People have been speculating on Empire 2, Medieval 3, Rome 3, and Shogun 3 for a decade. CA does this to string you along hoping that you will buy the new stuff. Stop caring about a company who hasn't cared about you in a decade.

I have lost all faith and hope for total war, they don’t make fun games any more. I dislike fantasy and they don’t make real historical games. The last “total war” type games I have played and enjoyed is Manor loads and Mount and blade 2 banner lord. I know they are not real total games, but the battle system is great. What I love about banner lord is you are a character on the battlefield, commanding and fighting. I have played it for over 700 hours in a year, so I still find it fun.
Total War Pharaoh was really well received? That's news to me. CA will be absolutely shocked to hear it too given how they have lost their almost the entire budget of Pharaoh, no one buying it being "Troy 2 except it is not free on Epic".
I honestly wonder if there is anyone left in the company who understands what was good about early TW. Ever since TW Arena the battle maps have been cluttered with obstacles and seemingly converted to lanes in imitation of MOBA's.
They need to bring back the old shogun 2 fighting animations and gore with their games i feel like that would be whats best. I mean these are all war games most people that play war games want to see all the bloody realistic carnage. Not that bs warhammer smack in the knee and his head pop off.
why they don't make a total war title that include the whole world set in the Bronze Age or Ancient times or in the Medieval times , I am sick of those TW Titles that only cover 2 countrys . 3K did only had like 1/3 of china covered
CA lost me the moment that Warhammer 1 came out. It's not the setting, although I admit I despise Games Workshop and everything they make or do, but the biggest problem is the engine. The fact that CA just uses the same shitty engine that just makes the battles feel like shit is the biggest problem. Say what you want about the old engine from Medieval II, but at least the battles felt like, well, battles. Not some dumb health-bar measuring contest.
They are throwing the warhammer 40k licence to anyone big and small. There are so many 40k games now its crazy. They used to be carefull with their IP, not anymore. Its all about the money baby
If it means more 40k content I have no issue with it. There will definitely be some misses but space marine 2 was great and hopefully we will see that continue on
CA could find a way to work with Wētā Workshop to make a TW LOTR...everyone wants a TW game set in LOTR and Wētā Workshop could make even MORE cash out of since they have the rights to make games...so I see that as a fumble on both ends
Why LOTR when they already have Warhammer Fantasy, which is a cooler setting? And even if you think LOTR is cool, it is so similar to Warhammer fantasy in terms of units, that it would play the same.
@@MichaelDavis-mk4me literally all the old TW games play the same dude, I’d buy Lotr just because it’s lotr and that’s why they’d make alot of money off it because Lotr is too beloved.
@@sercravenmohead3631 LOTR has been eating rocks for the last 20 years. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it does not carry the same weight it once did. The LOTR universe isn't that fantastic, it was always the characters that made it stand out. Strip that out and just keep armies smashing each other, you'll have a bland Warhammer Fantasy unless you just start making lore to justify units and stuff, which the license holder will just laugh in your face and say no, because you are not Amazon.
@@MichaelDavis-mk4me That’s pretty much what the whole property does since Peter Jackson made the movies was not make 1 to 1 copy of the books, all the games are based off the movies more than anything like Battle for Middle Earth or Shadow of Mordor, there is plenty of content in the franchise that’s not canon at all really and Amazon makes Rings of Power which is basically poor fan fiction. When CA took on warhammer they were rolling the dice because not too long ago warhammer was very niche and not nearly as popular as today. If they did a good job on a lotr TW it could revitalize the franchise just like it did with warhammer fantasy which was at the time discontinued and shelved by Gamesworkshop. Warhammer TW is the most popular top played warhammer game on steam so why wouldn’t the holders of Lotr let CA do the same? Idk man if you think it’s bland why would it bother you if you simply don’t play it?
@@sercravenmohead3631 I would play it, on heavy discount, most likely a year or more after. The reason I "bother" is because I'd rather CA make a game I'm actually hyped for.

@@matthewadkins7973 I don't think you understand the scale of 40k battles, its millions and billions battling. I don't think creative assembly can deliver a true to lore 40k experience.
@@TheeCambion I don't think u understand reading comprehension. I'm talking about how well CA existing engine could run the diff units. Not pure scale. U will not in this decade see a strategy game with millions and billions fighting and dying
@@TheeCambionIf battlesector can work a total war game can work
I don't know why people just don't attempt Supreme Commander 2 but with WH40k themes. That would be the tits.
We will see
they should have listened to their audience and what we want, which is a midlevel total war with lots of diplomacy options.
We want a new gun powder total war game for heaves sake i am sick of seeing swords and stinking Warhammer total which i don't even play cus i HATE IT.
I understand it’s not plausible, but I really think that they should do a medieval three but also add in the political and intrigue in depth system of crusader Kings. I love total war and a huge fan but feel like this part has always been lacking to the depth. Crusader Kings goes and is something that I don’t think would be as hard to program in comparison to what they’ve already achieved.
we need Lord of the Rings Total War hehe
It's a lot more complicated than things like Warhammer and Star Wars though, 99% of people only know bits of the lore and world from the films. Most haven't read the books and other associated works and it's a very vast scope in terms of time periods covered and geography, a lot of it also isn't very fleshed out so there would be a lot of liberties that would need to be ironed out like with the new factions in Warhammer total war that haven't had much material to work with. It'd be really hard. But I'd pay a few hundred £ and not whine like a bitch if it's shorter than some other title. I hope they do someday.
Perfect mods that do that across several TW titles.
@@Daergarz yes but imagine what a stand-alone game would be like
@@CoffeeFiend1 yeah, it’s not really likely and would be hard to do. But I hope someday we’ll have something of sorts.
I mean. It wouldn't be that much different other than the map and story. Orks, elves , dwarves, trolls, giant spiders... You get all that in Warhammer Tw already. Wouldn't make much sense to do Lord Of The Rings.
I will only support 2 things from CA: Medieval 2 Remastered or CA Remastered. Anything else can go to hell.
CA Remastered costs 3 kidneys though and I only have 2. So you basically need 3 friends and you have to play on a rolling rota basis.
People have been speculating on Empire 2, Medieval 3, Rome 3, and Shogun 3 for a decade.
CA does this to string you along hoping that you will buy the new stuff. Stop caring about a company who hasn't cared about you in a decade.
If we doesn't count Medieval 3 and Rome 3, i would vote for World War 1 total War.
Nah man we need a Westeros total war with different time periods just like Medieval 2 did with the Britannia etc campaigns
Star Wars
WWI
Expanded Empire 2 with the entire world available
OR
Combine fantasy and historical with a Westeros game. They have everything they need from previous mods to do it and the HOD show plus the GOT spin offs will keep momentum and fandom high during the duration of the game
We DO NOT need another warhammer game

People have lived and died waiting for it
Finish warhammer 3 DLCs get IND, KHURESH and NIPPON in it then get profits from it then create medieval 3 / Empire 2
I would actually really dislike it if they made a Warhammer 40K game. It would not have the same feel of total war as we know it.
This seems like the usual nothing burger of a video, almost as bad as Andy's Take.
The least they could do is what Microsoft has done with age of empires 2 and remaster medieval 2 properly. Not like the weak rome remaster
Even though i haven’t played Empire, I want an Empire 2
NEWWWW ENGINEEEEE
NO MORE GAMES UNTIL YOU DEVELOPE A NEW ENGINEEEEE
I have lost all faith and hope for total war, they don’t make fun games any more. I dislike fantasy and they don’t make real historical games. The last “total war” type games I have played and enjoyed is Manor loads and Mount and blade 2 banner lord. I know they are not real total games, but the battle system is great. What I love about banner lord is you are a character on the battlefield, commanding and fighting. I have played it for over 700 hours in a year, so I still find it fun.
Friendly reminder to not get your hopes up 🤷🏽♂️
want med 3 but deep down we all now what it will become PEAK TOTAL WAR will NEVER be seen again
long live shogun 2 and med 2
Most recent total war warhammer dlc was thrones of decay, which was received very well
They should make a Medieval game with a large scope...
And switch those cartoony models for the next one please...
I don't think they will be able to make a come back. They lost their souls and started making games for easy money.
IM SO DONE WITH THESE DUMB ASS FANTASY TOTAL WAR GAMES. MAKE AN AUTHENTIC HISTORY GAME!!!!
medieval 2 complete remake quick win
Im sooo done with thess fantasy games....can we get a proper historical Total war with innovation and a new engine first please
why they don't make a total war title that include the whole world set in the Bronze Age or Ancient times or in the Medieval times , I am sick of those TW Titles that only cover 2 countrys .
3K did only had like 1/3 of china covered
I'm more excited for fan made medieval 3 called project renaissance
Empire or Medieval!! This is only thing i want.
Rome 3 or medieval 3. It's all we need
I have negative interest in the fantasy games. I wish they would make a GOOD historical game.
Empire but with some huge changes to battle mechanics and sea battles
Please do not use ai thumbnails
CA lost me the moment that Warhammer 1 came out. It's not the setting, although I admit I despise Games Workshop and everything they make or do, but the biggest problem is the engine. The fact that CA just uses the same shitty engine that just makes the battles feel like shit is the biggest problem.
Say what you want about the old engine from Medieval II, but at least the battles felt like, well, battles. Not some dumb health-bar measuring contest.
Seriously, it HAS to be Medieval 3.
They are throwing the warhammer 40k licence to anyone big and small. There are so many 40k games now its crazy. They used to be carefull with their IP, not anymore. Its all about the money baby
If it means more 40k content I have no issue with it. There will definitely be some misses but space marine 2 was great and hopefully we will see that continue on
What is he talking about that is 30,000 pounds? I couldnt find anything online that expensive
Please be Star Wars please be Star Wars please be Star Wars 😂😂❤🎉🎉🎉
Where my Rome 3 champions at?
I just want a new Empire or Victorian Total War :(
Medieval 3..listen to the people. Cash waiting
All the problems of the franchise would solve with a medieval 3, that's all, put a side the fantasy and forget about guns and Stones from the bronce age or victorian era, AND return to the medieval times....
No???!!!!
Fuck It!!!....rome 3 then!!!!
Same Game only reskin like the past fucking 15 years
GTA VII before Medieval 3 ?
We need new fantasy tw like warcraft total war
Speak for yourself man. Total war certainly doesn't make most fans grimace.
Warum muss es immer Warhammer sein?
Ich bin es leid, wann werden wir endlich mal wieder was wirklich neues sehen?
Total War Arena. Just do it. Thanks.
They need to remake medieva l 2
I won't buy anything from ca unless it's empire 2.
Total War Arena still going on Chinese
Im sure it will be Warhammer 40k
CA pls. Don't make stupid AI. normal to hard is best. Easy is dumb pls. Don't make easy AI.
Empire Total War 2!!!
I never played TW 4K or any warhammer and never will they are all shit. Just the old historical TW were good but they tried to revive historical and failed
Oh no please don't make it a star simulator
If CA finnaly dont change this a really out if date old Warscape engne and they are again make game with every possible shortcut, limitetd manage city etc dosent matter what tehy do-still will be flop not good TW games.
so no leaks just all speculations? smfh good vid i guess
Total war pokemon
