@LiterallyS… can’t see the rest of your name I agree that Hollywood overuses lorica segmentata but I don’t understand what the length of time it was used has to do with it as most depictions of Rome in Hollywood take place during the late republican to mid principate period in Rome which was a time when lorica segmentata was VERY popular among the legions. It was the most common type used at the time along side lorica gallica, and lorica squamata. The depiction of Romans here using both lorica segmentata and lorica gallica is pretty accurate. The only inaccuracies are ones built into the game ie all red tunics, praetorians gear etc. Before insulting someone’s video you should probably brush up a bit on your history of Rome. As far as I can tell the intention is that of a fictional battle and isn’t trying to portray any real battle between Rome and Egypt.
It’s because those troops were technically Greek troops. Ancient Egypt and Rome didn’t coexist during the same time period. Before Rome conquered Egypt it was ruled by the Greek Ptolemaic dynasty. Most of the “Egyptian” units in this video were either from nubia(Sudan) or Greece.
The troops, formations and scenery look spectacular but movement/reactions/animations clearly lack in this game, if elephants that big were thrashing around for example people would be flying in real life, also all the troops just standing there, not fighting and having javelins sticking out of them is ridiculous. No offence to the person who made the video though because I thoroughly enjoyed it and the well-planned troop choreography! I just hope the game developers make animations more realistic and less clunky in future.

Just want to ask base on curiosity. 🤔 Would not a single soldier get a broken ankle just by jumping from those boats? Seems kinda high, and their armor are kinda heavy, with those shields in hand.
I've made a mistake. The initial plan was to attack with testudo formation, empty the enemy archers then attack with skirmishers. But by the time the roman army arrived in front of the egyptian army, I forgot my first move and made the stupidest move .:)
После просмотра битвы у меня возникло пару вопросов и непонимание что творят игроки по обе стороны 1. Зачем игрок на Риме в тупую пошел и слил своих застрельщиков? Хорошо если он хотел закидать пики я бы изначально легионерами в черепахе боезапас стрелков врага принял а потом повел застрелов что бы их не расстреляли в тупую и не реализуя свой потенциал. Да и в принципе пики можно было закидать пилумами легионеров что в дальнейшем игрок и сделал, а боезапас застрельщиков куда лучше было выпустить в слонов огненными снарядами чтобы вызвать бешенство 2. Почему игрок за Египет почти не предпринимал нечего? Слоны и колесницы пол битвы стояли. Слонов можно было немного отправить на помощь кавалерии а остальных перед копейщиками отправить нанести удар и ослабить легионеров. С колесницами та же фигня, стояли смотрели на тылы легионеров которые просто столпились вокруг слонов и все, а когда влетели то просто встали, если постоянно давать им приказы о движении в таком количестве войск то они кончено умрут но и убьют 500-600 на отряд минимум а если и выходить из боя и по тылам заезжать и того больше 3. Зачем на Рим всадниками в колесницы влетал, это же просто самоубийственные атаки но если колесницы отреагируют, в видео я не заметил реакции Египетских колесниц на кавалерию Рима, как ехали так и дальше едут а римские всадники по немногу сами умирают но если бы зафокусить эту кавалерию живых было бы мало) 4. Почему такой баланс сил? Армия Рима в разы качественнее армии Египта, если была надежда на компенсацию качества отрядами слонов и колесниц то их бы желательно использовать а не хранить в тылу весь бой пока до них не дошли, Римские легионеры бедным бомжам египетским с копьями и шанса не оставили, да и пики египта не самые лучшие были, в итоге армия из бомжей Египта с помощью слонов и колесниц против армии Рима с преторианцами, легионерами ветеранами, легионерами и наемной римской пехоты, ах да и если я не ошибаюсь у Рима было еще в кавалерии превосходство по качеству потому что у Египта заметил египетскую кавалерию и легких всадников а у рима толи конницу легиона, толи преторианскую кавалерию ( тут могу ошибаться ) В общем битва то красивая вышла но еще по началу ролика было понятно что у Рима куда лучше пехота будет и если Египет не задействует как надо слонов и колесницы победить ему будет крайне сложно

Well it was a nice watch, just that the cavalry charges both sides up close tends to just look at each other, hang around, chill maybe? They lost interest in fighting as soon as they got close to each other.

that's because Egypt had already been through thousands of years of wars and conflicts, they were past their prime just like any Empire in history i mean look at the British Empire now doesn't exist. now was the Roman time to shine. just think about it, when Cleopatra was Queen of Egypt and Julius Caesar was bonking her she was closer to our time by more than 500 years when the pyramids were built 2500 years before her so yeah the Egyptians had there time and this was not their prime.

The significantly weakened Roman army is stranded in the desert, which is a terrain unfamiliar to them. Meanwhile the Egyptian force, although very severely weakened, is familiar with the terrain and would be able to sabotage the roman army's supplies, as well as raise troops faster than the Romans can get reinforcements

They always do such a terrible job with historical accuracy with the unit designs and equipment. Thank God for modders and DEI. And Parabellum mod isnt bad either, they just need a little more work with the unit designs.

Improvement: sounds like you are proud of the animation. Animation is only a part of your total product. You need a narration explaining the battle. Ditch the music, you need details: which legions, who in charge, casualties, aftermath of battle, what happened next etc. The viewer has learner little. Keep working on it.

The highest battle i've ever had was in total war attila (20k units in total) with around 20 fps if I zoom in
