- Get around on the bus in Merida ... For $12 pesos, you can get around quite easily. Keep in mind, the Va-y-Ven buses do not take cash. You MUST instead swipe a rechargeable Va-y-Ven card when boarding a bus to use the system, so getting one of these cards is important!

Aww you girls are the best!! Thanks for this!! Love this video ❤ I am also in Las Americas! Another tip that’s been a lifesaver for me and the bus: if you don’t have the Google Maps app, get it! Enter in your to & from directions like you normally would. Then it will give you the option of getting there by walking, bike, car, bus.
Click bus and it will give you the directions to the nearest bus stop, the bus number that you should get on, where to get off, in walking directions to your destination -unless you were lucky that the bus takes you directly there by chance.
If I’m not familiar with the route and not sure where to get off, I keep though app open and follow my own blue dot until I get to where I need to get off ☺️

You can enter this information into Google Maps and it will give you car, bus, bike and walking routes, hope this helps.
