SVG was robbed in many fans eyes. He dominated that XFinity race and got punted off track by Austin Hill, so he was only returning the favour to him later on the track. He also let Austin back in front of him and then passed him a corner later just to show him how it’s done without contact. If you want to know who is the best road course racer in the series at the moment just ask Kyle Larson

Congrats on your stage 2 win Denny Hamlin! Also, the fact that Kamui Kobayashi has only been in the Cup Series twice. And both times, Ricky Stenhouse was involved.
Stage win what a joke idiot .. it isn't a win it's just a I'm so shit that I don't pit to get a couple of points because I have no chance in the race. Stage points are a fkn joke
Nascar somehow has the least and most strict track limits in all of racing. No track limits mostof the track, but if you cut the esses by 1 inch, you get a 30 second penalty ruining your race. Its way too excessive, nascar needs to do warnings like what other series do. You get 2 warnings, and on strike 3 is when you get a more serious penalty
And even in strike 3, 30 seconds is overkill. 5 seconds is reasonable. Unless of course a driver does something crazy, like going straight through the esses. Then it's a larger penalty.
And the fact U so close behind the car in front you think you are following the same line .. just put big fkn tyres or kerb to keep cars on track .. 5 sec penalty every time U cut is way more than U need cos cut it every lap U going be so far behind ..
Thanks Denny! Everyone mentioned the top 3 at Bristol but no mention of BOWAN last wknd… he has had inferior equipment, yes GIBBS/23-11/ Hendricks matter, but he ran the old 23 Dr.Pepper car as a lapper car for most his time in cup. Experience and Equipment rule
This race was compelling. It wasn't the most exciting. But damn we don't need every week to be THE MOST EXCITING. That's not even possible. It was a good/average race. Imagine if the cars didn't all drive the same and the tires wore out and tire strategy drove pit stops more than fuel? Like let's go that's how you make it better than what it was this weekend on a regular basis. Road course racing is absolutely compelling. It's just not for the fans who require more visual stimulation. Whether it's cars hitting each other, crashes, or they want Superspeedways every week. There are those fans who will argue a race is good if cars are closer together even if they're not actually really able to pass. So that's basically the difference between fans. You have the visual stimulation vs the fans who can also accept mental stimulation of a more pure form of racing. Man I love the sound of race officials officiating races and creating a real standard for racing. Track limits are so fucking easy. They have the technology to monitor whether people are gaining an advantage. All you have to do is use your data to see if an advantage was gained or if a driver can be reasonably argued that they straightlined on purpose. Or 2 freebies then 3 and after results in a drive through. It isn't difficult. And extend the limits to turn 8 and 9.

One thing great about Supercar coverage is the commentary team have pretty open communication with race control and can tell the audience what's going on regarding penalties etc in almost real time.
when you guys talk about certain parts of the race, can you guys add a clip of it on the screen also so we know what you guys are talking about. I didn’t watch COTA this weekend 🤧
The point about Christopher Bell's run through the field and the strategy involved is EXACTLY why the NASCAR world needs a Mark Larkham over here. That dude is a guru behind the mic when it comes to strategy and graphs everything out so you could see exactly what you were talking about. Larry Mac is NASCARs version, and while I absolutely love Larry, he's getting on in age and any tech he's ever used, its been handed to him and he's been told "here's what you do" They need someone involved in MAKING the graphics and using the tech required to show off all of these strategies and things. Im sorry I agree with McDowell. Put up the curbs. I'm F1 the drivers are buried in their cars. They can't see shit passed their tires, and they can stay in track limits. I like cota but for nascar they should straight line from turn 4 to turn 6 and turn left and straight line down to the back straight and turn left again into the stadium area. This gets rid of the track limits in the esses and the shorter lap time will make yellows a little bit more likely as there is less time for a car to get moving again before the leaders come by.
Track limits are fine as long as they are reasonable and don’t penalize people physically forced out as this can be an intentional and strategic act or a position hasn’t been gained. A warning system would also be logical. Tires compound will never ever produce sustained/ meaningful improvements in the overall quality of racing neither will HP because they will never ever provide the HP gains required. You need to provide teams with some unique variables with a few different setup options each week. Must fee up the shackles some. The singer source supply will always produce poor racing all around unless you artificially stimulate it. Track limits are fine as long

@mrt4088 Yep. There's still footage of the last V8 supercars season on TH-cam before they switched to the gen 3 cars. Shane wasn't afraid of pushing his team mate and boss, Jamie Whincup all over the track.
