    Great video. I had no idea that wireless stereo headsets even had a microphone built in. I own a pair of Sennheiser PXC550 wireless headphones that I use for my part time job scoring TOEFL speaking tests. Low and behold there is a microphone built in. I am going to give them a try in class tomorrow. Thanks for the headsup. I will try the Tribit if my Senns ever crap out.

    I use the Bose Quiet Comfort 35. I have always had it wired into my MacBook Pro but last week it stopped working. Now, I'm using the Bluetooth function and it's pretty sweet. My only problem is that I don't always remember to charge them. Thanks for the back up suggestion Michael.

    Thanks for posting this. Very clear and to the point. I'm sold on the wireless and built in mic. Cheers.

    Thanks for the video! I would've liked to hear you actually use them! I've been looking for an upgrade - I also teach with VipKid and need to cut down on cords! So restricting!
    Thanks!

    The problem I am having actually is the headphones that *do* have noise cancelling. When I am trying to sound out a word and make a sound like "ssssss" that sounds like white noise, the headphones cut it out. Any recommendations from you or the comment section?

      Yes, charging them every day would get annoying. 40 hours of battery life is pretty good if you ask me :-)

    Thank you very much Michael. I am also a teacher but have not yet found what I need. I bought a Steelseries over-the-ear headset with a detachable mic. They seem good enough, however, the biggest problem is that I do not hear my own voice well, it's all muffled up. I end up talking louder just to hear myself and get sore throats from it. I am looking for a headset where I can hear my voice as well as my students' voices clearly. Can you please advice. PS. I was told that for teachers who need to talk more than listen, a headset with a mic sticking out would be more talk oriented, than those with built-in microphones. like do you feel you need to talk a bit louder just to be heard by your students as your headphone is with a built-in mic?

    • @UncleMikeVideos
      @UncleMikeVideos  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I don’t feel like I need to speak louder in order to be heard by my students. The mic on these headphones works just fine for my needs 🙂

    I just got these and love them. But I can’t get the sound to work with VIPKid platform on my pc unless they are wired with the plug. Any tips?

    • @UncleMikeVideos
      @UncleMikeVideos  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you open up the classroom you might have to select the settings wheel (next to the camera button) and manually pair them. Or go to the sound preferences of your computer and make sure Bluetooth is turned on

    • @kimberlyshamilton9958
      @kimberlyshamilton9958 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did that and it worked for the mic but for the sound there is no way to choose which device. I ended up using it wired today for classes. It works when using other apps on my computer such as TH-cam. So, it’s paired correctly. Too bad we can’t enter the classroom until 10 minutes before class now. No time to test it out really.

    Great vid, thanks, Michael. I discovered there is not mute button. I just taught with a bad cough and students were copying me. Kind of embarrassing. Any suggestions for muting?

    • @UncleMikeVideos
      @UncleMikeVideos  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no! I’ve been there before. With most teaching platforms there is a mute button within the teaching software. If you teach w VIPKid it’s right next to the webcam on/off button 🙂

      One more question, Michael. I just received the pair of Tribit Xfree Tune. The sound is incredible, but I cannot hear my own voice through the headphone during a ViPKid class. Is that normal?

    • @rickpotter5015
      @rickpotter5015 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never mind. I guess it is normal after I switch to Tribit as input. I just have to remember not to speak so loud, haha.

    How is the sound quality compared to the Bose?

      Bose are by far better! Are they worth paying 8x the price though...probably not.
      If you’re just using them for teaching, the difference in quality is minimal

    Cool to see someone successfully using bluetooth, thanks Michael! I have had bad luck with the microphone sound quality for bluetooth so very hesitant to buy another. Has anyone had issues with the microphone frequently cutting out or just simply not clear for the students to hear you? Also I know the range can also affect the connection quite easily. Wondering if these have good range, meaning that you can move around the room without affecting them.

    • @UncleMikeVideos
      @UncleMikeVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Justin! The mic has been working fine for me. As for the range, they can get a little sketchy if you go too far away (up or downstairs or to another room) but as long as you’re relatively close to your computer they’re great :)

      @@UncleMikeVideos Good to know, I just just compared my current bluetooth of a similar design and specs (TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Headphones TT-BH22) to my wired headset and there was a noticable difference in clarity. The bluetooth seems quieter and muffled with multiple bluetooth mics I've had experience with. One student said they had to update the hardware but even then his wasn't so clear. I'm sure they are constantly improving this technology.
