- I'm grateful we were able to come to a deal on three Disney pieces! However, then he showed this at his garage sale, and I could not believe the asking price! Check out this sale and others from the largest community yard sale in our area! What will my wife and I find to flip for a profit on ebay?

"I know what they're worth". I would have shown him the ones you pulled up that were $475 and what not. I get that it would have been some profit but not enough to take up room, put in hours photographing, listing, shipping, etc and the ebay fees, store, shipping costs. People poking you for not getting it when you may have gotten a smaller profit can run their own store if they'd like.

Just a tip for anyone grabbing Ring camera for resell. Make sure they are new sealed or no longer connected to previous owners account. If they aren’t removed from owners account they can’t be used and you will get a return!

If I had someone who would give me 80% of ebay I'd totally sell everything I owned to him or her. With that being said, he is completely within his right to price it however he wants.

At 32:51 on the Jess-cam, there were 4 or 5 boxes (sign said 5 for $25) of Lutron Smart Switches. Those are pretty expensive at around at least $60 each. Lutron switches are cool because you can control light switches with the Lutron app. Don’t sleep on those!

My daughter and I love going to gather sales but our city never has many
Once I hear “we’ve looked it up” chances are there will be no deal. People forget that we have to take the time to list the item, package the item, and run the risk of damage during shipment and deal with customer returns. On top of that we have eBay and shipping fees. These things will end up selling for a fraction of their asking price years from now at their estate sale. No pawn shop would buy that for more than $40 lol.
I totally agree with you on the "we've looked it up" thing. These people see what something is selling for or (lots of times what someone is ASKING for this item on the internet) and think they can get that much for it, themselves. They don't want to go through the time and effort of listing it on "the internet" or setting up at a reputable Antique/Collectible Show to get good money for an item. Instead, they want to sell it in their garage or yard sale and ask top dollar. NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!
I know I usually run once I hear we have looked it up. It's like well why don't you sell this stuff on eBay then ? A garage sale really I mean it's their choice but still. Some of these sales that are like this are crazy

Interesting as a non-native speaker to hear a native speaker have trouble understanding the expression "what do you have on..." It might have been a hard-of-hearing issue in this case, but anyways, is it an uncommon way of asking about the price? It's hard for me to know because I have watched so many of these videos that I am used to many strange ways of asking about the price of an object.
I think it's a pretty normal way to ask. I'm guessing it has more to do with people hearing me when I ask.

I honestly cant stand yard sellers trying to be ebay sellers. If its worth that much and you spent that much time looking them up, then list them, dont price them ebay prices and expect to get that. Ebay is a bigger platform then your yard sale.

We use the ebay app. You can search an item and then filter by sold listings to see what items have sold for.

I really have no issue with someone pricing things however they want. The title is meant to be provocative more than anything. At the end of the day, it is a garage sale with a limited amount of people coming to look at the item. If they happen to get near ebay prices on things, that's awesome! Especially without the fees, hassle of listing and questions and shipping, the forced returns, and dealing with feedback.

When Jess bought the ring doorbell for $5 she gave the guy a $20 and then she was looking for something smaller and then gave him $10. He gave her change back from the $10 but never gave her the original $20 that she handed him.

I was at a garage sale and a senior had a micro singer sewing machine that was brand new and she had $35.00 on it I grabbed it and brought it to her and bought it for $225.00 . There's things in life that you don't do and ripping off a senior is one of them they built our respective countries. Yikes I sound like an A-hole but I hope you take it to heart.

It's called business the grocery store does it. Most of the stuff will end up donated anyway cuz they don't know what it's worth. that they sell it's better they get some money for it. It wouldn't be $800 in profit. If I'm lucky I'd get that in total gross sales. After factoring in shipping, ebay fees, return risk, etc it just wasn't worth it to me.
