10 minutes early isn't early birding. Early birding is when people show up for a 9am sale at 6:30am pounding on the host's front door begging for video games like crack.
@rottenamiigo9443 You must have never met jewelry people. I watch them at neighborhood sales running from house to house, screaming DO YOU HAVE JEWELRY, DO YOU HAVE JEWELRY!!!
If I'm running a sale, I welcome early birds. If an item is on a garage sale for me I'm just trying to get rid of it so if somebody wants to show up early, give me the money and shorten my day I'm all for it.
Very true. As a buyer I can’t catch a break on this idea. If I’m early even by like ten minutes usually they tell me they aren’t ready for customers and to come back. If I am on time then they say they started selling two hours early and most of the good stuff is gone by then. I understand the older guys feelings but I would never have whined out loud about it.
They worst part of the early birds are like, "I'll give you $5" for something u asking for $20..... Like I have all day to try to sell, u expect a discount for coming early.
Depends. If you’re prepped and good to go cool. I like to focus on what I’m doing and get things ready at the time I want. If you want to look around and be respectful ok, but don’t start asking me questions or bothering me until I’m “open” for business.
Absolutely agree. I’ve had several yard sales and even as I’m setting up on a Thursday (for a Friday/Saturday sale ) I had people stop and shop. If you want to spend your money on a Thursday, I’ll take it.
My family does a garage sale every could years together. We load the tables up in the garage so that when the garage door opens we can move tables down the driveway. That said, we've had people circle the garage trying to peek in, knock on the garage door early and ask if we're opening soon, lined up down the street. One of the sales I sold video games and some consoles that had people checking immediately for them and wanting them. Arriving a little early is almost common place in a garage sale you're setting up. You can ASK if they're open and if it's OK to start early and if they say no, you just wait. It's polite and asking is not rude.
Finding items and great deals are like a drug to some of these people. They can be like addicts, pushing, shoving, arguing, trying to haggle on a $2 item, grabbing whatever they see just because they don’t want others to buy it but just set it all down and leave in the end, and other weird antics. People watching is another fun aspect of going to garage sales haha
Tell us to like because I stream on tv so I forget (old) unless I am reminded to do it, it’s not showing on my screen unless I manually click on, love you two appreciate your kindness to others! Thanks for sharing your life.
Enjoy watching your adventures in sourcing. I deal mainly in vintage, and I see plenty of decent items that others miss. I have part of a small brick and mortar in my local town, so I put some online and some in the shop. Good thing about this line of work is that it has evolved during my life. I definitely don’t sell the same types of items I sold in the 90s as I sell now. Your knowledge base has grown over time and you know what to look for. 😊
Great video, as always. I’ve been watching for a few years but only recently became active on TH-cam with my own account. You are one of my only channel subscriptions. I love the knowledge you share to the community. This past Saturday I got a binder of mid 2000s Pokémon cards on an ask for $30, and just sold them locally for $800!
Dude was just pissed that he didn't get what he was wanting. Sorry bout his luck. Most people will put No early birds if they don't want people showing up early. Of course, there will always be the ones that disregard that and it's up to the person having the sale to tell them no or welcome them early. I've had people tell me come on in and look and I've also had people say to come back at their opening time, and I respect that. That guy was early as well, so he had no room to talk, especially since he had been trying to buy the stuff on messenger, aka early. lol You got some great deals at that sale. That Picachu that Jessica got probably just needs new batteries. My sons toys like that would act that way when the batteries were dying. Great job on your pickups, you two!
Some of these yard sales can be very scary 😧 People are so in a rush to buy as much as they can! I personally am to old for that crap 💩, but years ago when the Cabbage Patch kids first came out that was a battle. I wasn’t there, but my mother in-law was. She said people were ripping the boxes trying to get 2 or 3 at a time. She said she did get 1, but was thrown to the floor and stepped on. What terrible people there are in this world. Now people just go into stores and grab a lot of stuff and run out. It’s worse and worse everyday! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
You have to be the early bird. Early in my picking career I missed out on a huge deal because I was being "respectful". Huge box of cart video game stuff for super cheap. I was waiting in the car for 10 minutes until the time their sign said. Guy pulled right up and got the box.
I mean if you care about being respectful then you care about being respectful regardless of the outcome. I get second hand embarrassment when someone running a sale tells me that someone with a gopro was there 30 minutes to an hour early. Don't get me wrong, I wake up in the morning for yard sales, head out the door, if I'm there 10-15 minutes early and they have signs up already, I'll stop in. But there's a limit to what behavior isn't weird.
I don't mind folks coming early. In fact, it's part of my strategy. At least an hour before the scheduled start, all the tables are set up and all stuff is outside. However, it's all still in the totes. I tell folks to feel free to use the tables to sort through stuff. Most of my unpacking gets done for me. The two massive dogs tend to discourage people from coming in to the garage early to knock on doors.
There's a car dealership in Pennsylvania that uses a panda as its mascot who wears that big head. I have no idea what a big panda has to do with getting a good deal on a car. 🤷🏼♀️
I was shocked! How much would that cost to ship. I’m also surprised he passed up in the Coach trifold, for $2 it’s a steal bc could’ve turned it around for $30-$40.
I probably wouldn't have been able to resist butting in and pointing out that he was early too so he needed to practice what he preached. I try not to be early because I feel like it's rude, most of the of time when I know I'm early I just stay in my car until the time they specified but if they already have people shopping I don't wait. That seller had some awesome deals, though! And when you were doing the second recap I was yelling "use the golf clubs!" to pull the stuff down to the end of the truck, lol.
I know that you'd like people to watch your whole video, but sometimes I can't, so it would be nice if you posted time stamps for your titles. That Coach wallet looked nice. That should have brought you some money. Sometimes designer wallets sell for the same price or higher than the handbags. I know bc I buy designer hand bags with matching wallets. Wallets are more detailed and take more work to create sometimes.
Know anything about coach purses? I have done some digging but haven't been able to find much. I was gifted a "coach" purse years ago. It seems legit in regards to pattern and stitching however there are no emblems on the zippers. It does have what seems to be the appropriate emblem label inside. It also came with a matching wallet and I have been using the wallet for a long time so the brassy part is starting to darken. My guess is that means it is fake? Sorry to hijack your comment! I am really just curious more then anything. The same person also gave me a nice black leather Michael Kohrs bag with the chain and leather handle which I love. If the coach bag is real I'm thinking maybe I won't keep using it everyday lol

There is not one book in there that's worth more than five or $10 the majority is worth less than five dollars and there's a huge amount of them online so very slow sell through rate and the only thing I could think was I was so exhausted my brain just was not working anymore and I should've never went that last yard sale! so when you're out in that heat just remember it's not only affecting your body it's also affecting your brain!!! 🤣😂😱🫶

Random cool fact - that Ebay comp for Just Dance 4 was mine 🤣 had me shook for a second! Love your vids and I always learn a ton from them. Thanks for all you do!
You know what? Having the whole weekend to myself for the first time in a few years with the wife and kids gone, I've been running around in circles trying to figure out what to do with this blessed free time LOL. And I think instead of going out, spending money or messin around whatever, I think it's time to try my hand at some flipping! Hell I may even wear my GoPro although I do kind of feel weird/self conscious about having a camera on me, Maybe that goes away? IDK could maybe be fun. either way it might be time to test if I've learned anything after watchin all these years. It would be amazing to replace all the hours I spend doing Uber/Grubhub with something more enjoyable. Not to mention less time away from the Fam. trying to find sales to make a list atm. Any Last minute pointers?
@@propicker I'm here to report it went rather well "don't be afraid to look up what you don't know." was a huge benefit the best finds i had no idea and just went out on a limb! I even managed to not chicken out on the camera. Excited to start this journey and to continue watching yours, Much Love.
Perfect example of why sellers are sometimes better off pre-pricing items at sales: Customer asks for prices on Turtles, and the answer is Most of them are 10 except that one is 15, and that one is 15, 15, 15, 15, and then this one is 25, and that one is 25, but the rest are 10. Now multiply telling that to 20 people throughout the course of the day, especially when that's only one small section of your sale. 😃
Peroxides work great on stays without washing them! I’ve done it! I don’t know if you see my comments but if you do I have a PlayStation 2 with controllers I believe and games if interested
@propicker I've had the GoPro Hero 7 Black for years now and never used it. I have a pretty extension accessory kit as well, so I can do the chest mount easy enough. I'll look into other software as you suggest. I need something easy to use as I've never done this before. Thank you. Will be starting something here in Daytona. Daytona Picker maybe...
There's a big difference in being early and patiently waiting, and pushing your way into a sale. The hosts need to nip it in the bug and make a mental note of who gets there first. If they turn one away because they are early, they need to keep all away. They can't can have a busybody pushy pants get way with pushing their way in.
Question for the Pro Picking Princess and Warehouse boy. Do you guys go to sub sales every year in the same subs?? Not sure if every damn sub around me is doodoo, but it is always the same homes and same crap every year. I seem to have better luck doing the random homes doing sales, rather than subs.
We go to a lot of the same ones but also .ix it up to. You'll always have a at least a few that bring out the same stuff at their sales every community sale.
Wonder how he would feel if he got something 10 mins before someone else showed up. I suspect he wouldn't have a problem with it..... He is just mad that he missed out on something. Just part of the garage/estate sale world is the way I see it!
31:18 that leather jacket wow I can’t believe they sold it for five dollars. I don’t even think I would’ve sold it at the garage sale for less than $20. Looks like really good leather definitely give me the Indiana Jones vibes which my husband likes.
Reselling will always be a thing, whether it’s video games, jewelry, Clothes, toys whatever. To call a reseller of any kind scummy or any other inappropriate word is asinine. Every store you shop at, resells. The only difference is they have wholesale suppliers, that they buy cheap from and mark up the price like Walmart, target, and others. Don’t knock the hustle, I applaud anyone who does the reselling gig, it’s not an easy task. -anyway, congrats on your pickups!
There was a guy that showed up at 5:30 in the morning and the sale started at 9am just because the guy put retro games on the ad smh I got there one hour before it opened and 80% of the stuff for sale was gone it kills the passion for people who don’t have lots of money to spend and want to enjoy the hobby
I can beat your Karen. I was at a sale with a gate this weekend. A crowd formed, waiting for it to open, most people were walking, because it was like 40 feet, but two people in cars. As they were addressing the crowd one car started inching forward while the gate was still closed. I gave him a, "Calm down gesture". He kept jerking forward being obnoxious. I started to mock him as if I was racing him. He then jerks the car towards me and I slammed his hood. He parked, got out, and tried to get in my face. I ignored him and that made him even madder. The people running the sale told him to calm down.
I’m curious as to why you’d pick up vice city for $2 when it sells for $10 including shipping so minus taxes and fees you’d barely make anything. Just asking! Do you bundle? Save games and sell together maybe?
@@propicker Ok! I am still learning so if I can’t look up or scan the barcode like if people are staring at me and I feel weird then I’ll pass unless it’s Mario or Wii sports and other games I’m aware are good sellers
Somehow missed this comment. You have a point. There's just enough margin to deal in clubs at the 30 buck price point when shipped via ups ground. I would say any lower than that probably isn't worth listing though.
I personally like yard sales that have yard sale prices. I don't like when they try to get top dollar for things or when they post eBay comparisons. That is a turn off for sure. And I'm not even necessarily a reseller.
I hate when people bash early birds in 99% of the times if someone shows up at 9:00am or 8:00am the sales already had 4 people and all the good stuff is gone.. I’m an early bird and have been one for 45 years all the way back when I was a little kid would go with my parents and it pays off and most of the times nobody cares less I would say 1 out of 20 sales someone will say something… Last week I got to the neighborhood sale that opened @ 8am around 6-6:15am and only drove around about 15 mins before I hit my first sale where I hit some great stuff and to top it off it was an older man and I asked for video games and he said NO BUT hold on and he yelled to his neighbor and asked and his neighbor said YES and I scored a box full of PS1 and PS2 which had some killer games in it like a ps2 Silent Hill 3 😉
That's awesome on the silent hill games! I had a similar thing happen once with not as good of games. Their neighbor heard me ask and went next door and grabbed a stack of decent stuff.
I still get mine at sales... but i do respect people's start times. So many times I've shown up at the posted time and there's already people picking through everything. Oh well. I'm not gonna be lame and show up an hour early. Video game flippers are the worst closely followed by 80s toy flippers.
What camera equipment setup do you use? Can you show it in another video? Is it chest mounted? What do you use for editing? I recently started a new eBay account, I had a huge eBay store I NC about 3 or 4 years ago. Thinking of starting a YT channel for it this time.
We're going to compare the items to actively listed and sold before listing. Also, since we're pretty wary about coach and the vero program we may list other places than ebay.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news again but all the Coach Purses I'm 99% sure are fake. Ebay used to have some expert guides on designer and high end items that are worth the education. Not sure if they are still available. Anyway...stitching, leather, weight, lining material should be something you could learn in general for all handbags. When you see peeling, plastic or sloppy stitching its a fake. Even though Coach is not Chanel they still offered a quality bag that should show it. I have also found that if you ask the sellers if they are fake they will usually be truthful. Sorry!
People running the sales need to do their research about certain items at garage sales cause others only come to resell items they are buying dirt cheap. I understand trying to make profits but if that’s all people are doing people running the sales should know what they are selling.
If I set my sale at 8am and you show up at 6, I could care less. That’s just the time I plan on sitting out there and being done setting up. If you wanna show up early you can look through what’s out I’m not going any faster with setup. I’m not catering to resellers. I just want to get rid of shit. If any garage sale person is mad about “early birds“ they must not really care about selling their crap. Dude just can’t get up early enough and wants people to feel bad that he’s 69 years old. Entitlement
The black and the gray and white Coach were absolutely fakes…look at the side seams and how the letters don’t line up…Coach is meticulous about there seams!

I'm so hot, our AC went out. We got two window units but it's still 80 in here.
Sorry to hear that! I hope you're able to get it fixed soon!
Oh lord. I hope your A.C. is fixed QUICKLY!
Blessings
Oh, my, that traffic outside your place! Does that slow down at night??
Yes, almost none at night and you can't really hear it in the house and it's not bad inside the barn
Surprised you didn't grab that Garmin fish finder 160 in the first sale it sales for some good money!!
It was a different less valuable one inside the box.
Random cool fact - that Ebay comp for Just Dance 4 was mine 🤣 had me shook for a second! Love your vids and I always learn a ton from them. Thanks for all you do!
Nice sale!
Wasn't he involved in the Black Friday sale wars?😂😂
Good luck with sales. Buy what you know and don't be afraid to look up what you don't know.
@@propicker I'm here to report it went rather well "don't be afraid to look up what you don't know." was a huge benefit the best finds i had no idea and just went out on a limb! I even managed to not chicken out on the camera. Excited to start this journey and to continue watching yours, Much Love.
So you didn't pick up the C64???
If I remember correctly she passed on it over price.
I would have bought all of those Ninja Turtles. I still have a bunch from when I was a kid.
I love early birds early birds get the worm thay say Just got get rid of the stuff😊😊😊 Love this vidos cool finds u find
I hear you on the pockets! Do the womens clothing designers think we don't need pockets! 😂
Peroxides work great on stays without washing them! I’ve done it! I don’t know if you see my comments but if you do I have a PlayStation 2 with controllers I believe and games if interested
Without looking it up on the fly how did you know that the Etz Hayim was a worthwhile book?
That one I was pretty sure on based on experience. I did double check it before buying it though.
"Busy body pushy pants"... I need to remember that one! 😅
How does a game like Rockbadn 3 for the wii go for 25 dollars in the US?? Here in the Netherlands we would ask 1 euro
Ben soms echt in shock als ik zie wat ze er allemaal voor krijgen 😅😂😊
Rockband and guitar hero in general is pretty hot in the US. Rockband 3 is one of the more desirable ones here.
We enjoyed the video!!!
Thanks for sharing ❤😊
Why didn’t you get that Garmin fish finder? Was the condition poor?
It was a different less valuable fish finder inside.

If the person having the sale doesn't mind people coming in early, too bad for those who didn't get there before you! 😊
How do you find your prices
Mainly the ebay app. You can search an item and filter by sold listings to see what the item has actually sold for recently.
Hey Dustin I want to get a hold of you about an estate sale coming up that I know of. What is a good way?
Hey mike, Ig and fb are both @propickerohio
Wonder how he would feel if he got something 10 mins before someone else showed up. I suspect he wouldn't have a problem with it..... He is just mad that he missed out on something. Just part of the garage/estate sale world is the way I see it!
31:18 that leather jacket wow I can’t believe they sold it for five dollars. I don’t even think I would’ve sold it at the garage sale for less than $20. Looks like really good leather definitely give me the Indiana Jones vibes which my husband likes.
Yeah, it's a really awesome jacket for 5 bucks!
@@propicker did you write it up as Indiana Jones BOMBER ✈️ ? I hope you get $75 for it! Or more
Reselling will always be a thing, whether it’s video games, jewelry,
Clothes, toys whatever.
That's wild!
I’m curious as to why you’d pick up vice city for $2 when it sells for $10 including shipping so minus taxes and fees you’d barely make anything. Just asking! Do you bundle? Save games and sell together maybe?
I probably shouldn't have bought a few of the games that I did at that sale. I'll probably lot them together and still come out ok though.
@@propicker Ok! I am still learning so if I can’t look up or scan the barcode like if people are staring at me and I feel weird then I’ll pass unless it’s Mario or Wii sports and other games I’m aware are good sellers
I swear that seller with the earlybirding is your uncle, you soooo look related hehehe
how do you guys have time to, buy, carry, clean, list, store, ship, and guarantee a 29$ golf club? Those seem so not worth it
Somehow missed this comment. You have a point. There's just enough margin to deal in clubs at the 30 buck price point when shipped via ups ground. I would say any lower than that probably isn't worth listing though.
Do you test all those video games or just check for scratches??
On the discs we're pretty good at eyeballing it. If it's questionable we'll test it first. We test most of our cartridges before listing.
I’m an early bird and have been one for 45 years all the way back when I was a little kid would go with my parents
and it pays off and most of the times nobody cares less I would say 1 out of 20 sales someone will say something…
Last week I got to the neighborhood sale that opened @ 8am around 6-6:15am and only drove around about 15 mins before I hit my first sale where I hit some great stuff and to top it off it was an older man and I asked for video games and he said NO BUT hold on and he yelled to his neighbor and asked and his neighbor said YES and I scored a box full of PS1 and PS2 which had some killer games in it like a ps2 Silent Hill 3 😉
You say you been an early bird for 45 years wouldn't that make you an old folk aswell lol only joking😂
That's awesome on the silent hill games! I had a similar thing happen once with not as good of games. Their neighbor heard me ask and went next door and grabbed a stack of decent stuff.
Wasted about $100 in fuel and didn’t buy nothing 😂
If the seller says it's okay then it's okay. They are there to make money and get rid of their unwanted stuff. The man just got to deal with it.
I don’t mind early birders. Making money starts when I get paid not by the clock.
Ayoo u got a bhara king for 5 😮
I still get mine at sales... but i do respect people's start times. So many times I've shown up at the posted time and there's already people picking through everything. Oh well. I'm not gonna be lame and show up an hour early. Video game flippers are the worst closely followed by 80s toy flippers.
If u buy computers do u clear them after people used them With there imforatiomml on there
Yes
Garmin fishfinder 160
It was a different unit in the box.
What camera equipment setup do you use? Can you show it in another video? Is it chest mounted? What do you use for editing? I recently started a new eBay account, I had a huge eBay store I NC about 3 or 4 years ago. Thinking of starting a YT channel for it this time.
I use a gopro hero 8 with a chest mount and videopad for editing. I'd probably recommend looking into a different editing software though.
Wow I’m old school and is a reseller for 35 years. Really bird gets the worm. You did nothing wrong.
In Scotland. What we would say to that is….. if you’re not fast, you’re last 🏴🫶
Passed on muscle machines 69 camero should have looked it up
He didn't seem upset at all. Just making a comment.
Dude walking around with a pitchfork.... he does not play around at this sales!!! 😮
On the Coach stuff how do you know if there REAL
Sorry!
Yeah, we'll look into it before listing. Thanks for the heads up!
@@propickeryou are good to go on the Coach bags, they are 100% real. They were made in the 90’s. You did good on those!! 😊
103 in Alabama!
People running the sales need to do their research about certain items at garage sales cause others only come to resell items they are buying dirt cheap. I understand trying to make profits but if that’s all people are doing people running the sales should know what they are selling.
Nothing wrong with being early.
Thanks, I was wondering why he bought some and not others.
U snooze you lose. That's the yard sale way. Cant be upset cause someone got to it first.
FYI…. TH-cam keeps taking my likes away from your vlogs! Ugh. I hope u get the watches!
Oh that's weird. Thanks for watching though!!
