    This is so funny... I’m literallly cooking udon as I watch your video 😂 ok your little drawing edits are soo cute! And I feel you on the bangs..it’s like a surprise every morning. That’s great you have 1:1s with people at work! I think especially during this time, it’s hard to stay connected with coworkers when you’re not physically in office. Thanks for taking us along ☺️

    Is there any way you can speak about getting diagnosed as an adult female for ADHD? It has been really difficult

    • @maidoesthings
      @maidoesthings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested but I can make a video on this. I didn’t even consider the possibility of me having ADHD until I talked to other adult women who had similar symptoms and they told me they had gotten diagnosed for ADHD.

  • @otherryan

    This was dope to watch Mai! I'm so bad at waking up that putting my phone in the other room would make me sleep for the entire day 😂😂 although I'm not "high up", I feel you on having endless meetings but I'm impressed that you're able to squeeze in time for your Vietnamese class and balance everything so well. I've never really done journaling but heard that there are a lot of positives -- will have to give that a try! Thanks for this DITL 🙏

    • @maidoesthings
      @maidoesthings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I realized that I need structure in order to be productive. If I give myself too much free time, I'm a 🥔😅

  • @JacobPernell
    @JacobPernell 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This was such a fun vlog! It's interesting to see how other people structure their days, esp working from home. I've been thinking about picking up the 5 min journal for myself; the prompts and structure of it seems helpful! And while most of my life right now is digital (todoist/trello/notion/etc.), I totally get that satisfying feeling from physically crossing something off a notepad todo list haha Also that llama mug tho 🦙👀

    Great video Mai! I completely understood what you meant about managers being called into meetings; I'm a senior PM and 50-75% of my current job is contributing to meetings, heh. Where are you taking your Vietnamese classes?

    • @maidoesthings
      @maidoesthings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m taking them with SVFF since they specialize in the southern language! They’re 1:1 online classes through Skype. And yes, sooo many meetings. I’m sure PMs sit through way more meetings than me and I have a lot of respect for PMs because they’re responsible for so many moving pieces.

    A phone has a programmable mode DND, try it. No reason to separate your phone after. And you confirmed a surprise I got from my GF, she told like actual programming is less than 1% of her time. And doing any personal stuff not from a work computer is good from security point view. For example I watch the video on a personal mac mini, and working Windows laptop is next to it.

    • @maidoesthings
      @maidoesthings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I keep my phone in the other room because I have no self-control and I would scroll on it all through the night if I kept it next to me, even with DND 😅! I wish I could spend more time programming but I'm glad I am able to be involved with a little bit of the decision making for the engineering org in terms of improving processes and structure!
