    Not sure if you have tried this yet on your soft goods hoods, but I have done it with success on both Kylo Ren and Old Ben Kenobi's hoods, you put the hood over their heads, then poor boiling water slowly down on top of their head/hood from directly above, then let it air dry. It forms the hood over their head and shoulders so it lays better. Even if you push the hood back, then take it back up over the head, it will still sit better on the head then it did out of package. If you preffer to display her with the hood down, you can do the same trick, but with the hood down on her back, then with the figure laying on its stomach, poor the bowling water over the hood, then flatten the hood out the way you want it to sit, then slowly poor some more bowling water over it, then let air dry. For extra flatness of the hood have something pressing it against her back as it dries.

    I just got the new black series Leia this morning from Target. So love this figure. I'm also glad they went back to give Carrie an absolutely beautiful figure of Leia. RIP Carrie.

    Wow. I am so glad I waited. Its good that Hasbro fixed this issue but next time they need to get it right the first time.

      skabcat242 Makes you wonder why they let the first version slide by if they were capable of doing such a better version.

      I have said that before. If they can make a great figure why issue a lesser quality one. The main reason $$$. Its a shame but its reality.

    I just realized this figure was on the market. I gave up on new Leia figures because of the horrible likenesses. This figure is awesome. I'm extremely pleased with the face. It really looks like a young Carrie Fisher. Great review! I love your channel.

    It's pretty crazy just how much improved the new head sculpt is over the original figure.

    Amazing how much better this figure looks with that new head sculpt. She actually resembles Carrie Fisher now quite a bit. I'm so glad I never picked up the first version, so I don't have to pay an extra 20 bucks to get an improved one. I'm also very glad that Hasbro is re-releasing some of their figures for this 40th Anniversary series. I didn't start collecting The Black Series figures until around the time of The Force Awakens, so I missed out on the first few waves. Now I have another chance to pick some of them up, and not pay the ridiculous aftermarket prices. It's insane how much R2 goes for now. That's my main reason for picking these up. I have no feelings of nostalgia or anything for the vintage packaging (nor am I a MOC collector), since the Kenner line was before my time. By the time I was born, Kenner had been acquired by Hasbro (though their toys were still being branded as Kenner). I intend to open these and don't care if I damage the cards lol.

      The 40th line is definitely a good line for people who weren't collecting the line initially. Some of those releases are really hard to get as you mentioned.

    Hello! I stumbled onto your channel while looking for 1/12 import figure reviews. While this isn't an import, this is your most recent video so I thought I'd just comment here to say that you are very articulate in your critiques and no detail escapes you. Subbed. Keep up the awesome work! (also LOL grumpy cat Leia)

    So glad I waited. There was always something off to me about the original releases head sculpt and seeing these side-by-side you can tell it's not right. The new one looks amazing. I'll be picking her up and that will help complete my A New Hope roster (Figuarts droids are on preorder). Can't wait till she's released here in Canada. Great review btw. Comparisons are my favourite part of figure reviews and IMO the most important.

    Wow! As I had mentioned in one of my other comments, the first Leia..yikes. When you do a side by side it is really noticeable. Your so right, night and day. I also had an issue with the 1st Leia. Her legs seemed really brittle on mine. Glad to hear and SEE the improvements. I went to Hasbro immediately after you said it....SOLD OUT. UGH! FIGURES..ha ha! Great review and Thank you for showing her. Hope your going to do all of them.

      Edster III It's amazing how much they improved her so quickly. You can preorder on Amazon or Walmart and other toy stores too. The legs on my old one as you saw were also brittle. I'm glad they seemingly addressed that.

      Yes they seemed to fix a lot of the original issues. There were as you and I said a lot of issues. She looks so much nicer. Carrie Fisher was such a gorgeous young woman when she made Star Wars. I wish she could have seen how pretty it turned out. I remember Carrie Fisher saying she couldn't believe how the fans still took to her. She was a Princess. And the world is less without her wit and her beauty. She will be missed more than she knew. We were blessed to have seen her. I really want to get this.

    Great review! I don't collect much 6-inch (I do make a few exceptions now and then), and I'm bummed/annoyed that Hasbro's not doing anything vintage-inspired for 3.75-inch collectors to celebrate the 40th, but this looks like a fantastic figure, all things considered.

    • @VictoriasCantina
      @VictoriasCantina  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      belloq81 Thanks! Yeah a lot of people are disappointed that there's not a super articulated 3.75" line on vintage packaging. Just those awful 0POA diecast statues.

      The101genco ... This 40th Anniversary is not 6" Anniversary, since 6" became after 2012 for Hasbro! Like I say for the 2004 OTC having the same card-back design (probably being a 25+2 year anniversary) for the 3 3/4 and re-introduced VOC (12 figure special cased vintage throwback cards) is the set that expands to this 6 inch series! Note also: 2006 Saga Legends collection with its VOC (6 figure special cased vintage throwback cards) also join that 3 3/4 collection! I WILL BE BUYING THIS COMPLETE SERIES IF POSSIBLE -- since I have the complete 2004 and 2006 3 3/4 lines easily bought at stores like I hope this series will be (Note: R5-D4 a GameStop exclusive only)!!

      Lawrence Jelsma The 40th Anniversary Collection celebrates 40 years of Star Wars. The Original Trilogy Collection in 2004 was made to commemorate the release of the original trilogy on DVD.

    • @lawrencejelsma3937
      @lawrencejelsma3937 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Victoria's Cantina ... I know but the black card background with scenic pictures with Luke (or Obi Wan?) holding Lightsaber and same line borders as this 6" series is the same as 2004's; meaning, for the completist collector: HANG PROPERLY on a wall (and proper protection cases) for MIP purposes!?

    • @lawrencejelsma3937
      @lawrencejelsma3937 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Victoria's Cantina ... I know what is confusing me!! The 12 figure 2004 VOC 3 3/4 (vintage card back) and 6 figure 2006 VOC has the same card pictures as these 2017 6 inch figures! The OTC line of 2004 and Saga Collection of 2006 line were, I am guessing, neat card backs Hasbro included the art of packaging with the figures for MIP completist collectors! I have no clue why in 2005's ROS movie figures they sold special case packs for them!?

      ras2010able Really? I think you'll be alone at that table. ;) The first one was terrible. Leia Boushh's likeness isn't anywhere near close and she's far too tall.

  • @etheangel2220

    So I guess its true! There is a new headsculpt after all. This looks so much better. The fact that hasbro even released the figure with that first head is indisputable proof that hasbro just does not care about the quality of their product. However, that line of thinking is immediately called into question with the existence of that second head...Would hasbro ever have bothered with the do-over if all these fan on various SW fan sites made such noise about how bad the first head turned out? was someone at hasbro who makes the big decisions, genuinely embarrassed when he/she saw the final product? Did Fisher's untimely passing motivate hasbro to make the change? What was the real reason for the existence of this second head?
    Victoria, help me philosophize this quandary.

    • @VictoriasCantina
      @VictoriasCantina  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly I think Mr. Evans was probably the one that spearheaded the redo. I really don't know how the original one got approved, but he assured me at SDCC that a redo was on the way. I just didn't realize it wouldn't be ready for the original TBS release, but for the 40th anniversary TBS line instead. Given the lead time required for such things, I have to assume the original release had already been into production late last summer. So if the redo was sculpted and signed off on around that time, that would account for a good six months to get the new one made. If that's a correct assumption, then that means they really rushed to get the new head on the 40th figure. But I'm just guessing and making a lot of assumptions based on the little that I do know and was told.

    Wow I think hasbro nailed the likeness and skin tones better on this figure, then Bandai did on Han Solo. Don't get me wrong rhe sculpt is good with Solo but the skin tone is off imo. and I just like this figure better. good job with the review I'm in for getting all of these :-P

    It is inadmissible that the Leia of Black series is so bad made of his face, the truth I thought I already have the figure, because it is a figure less to acquire; But now I see that I have to pay again, since the 40th anniversary has a better face, why Hasbro does this ?. On the other hand the packaging is beautiful as the one of the vintage figures. Definitely the 40th anniversary is a thousand times better on his face than the last. Very good review thank you very much for your passion for Star Wars greetings from Mexico.
