- In this Victoria's Cantina review, we take a look at another figure released by the Disney Store for their Star Wars Elite Series line of action figures. This new Premium Elite Series 10-inch Princess Leia Organa figure is highly-detailed with high-quality soft goods clothing, over 30 points of articulation, and comes with several accessories.

just got mine. I'm impressed. The hair style looks better in person. The likeness is incredible. The doll doesn't look like Carrie Fishers in ANH but, it definitely looks like her from Jedi. The gown is really nice. Perfect body proportions too. Finally, an affordable Leia doll that does the character justice.

I have to have this doll. The likeness is really good. My only complaint is the hair but, I will fix it. Great review. I love your channel.

Loving your review of this figure. I got mine the day it went on sale, but I've never taken her out of the box yet. Was debating it and loved seeing how it looks out of the box! Other than the '78 doll, I think this has one of the better likenesses of her out of all the figures since.
HorrorGal Thank you! They did a great job considering how awesome the price point is. Save for the Hot Toys Leia (which I don't consider a toy), I agree this one has the finest likeness.

Really good fair paint job and head sculpt for this price, of course Hot Toys is the best so far but we should not compare $220 dlls vs $35 dlls. This is one of the best I have seen for this price range.
Right. I have the Hot Toys version and there just isn't any comparison, nor should there be since both products exists for totally different audiences. It turned out really well.
Hasbro never had much luck with her likeness until perhaps VC Bespin Gown Leia. This seems totally worth it! The buns did put me off, but I can get past it after seeing this review. What a great figure! Thankyou!
Bespin Gown Leia is one of my favorirtes! I agree, great likeness. They also did a great job with the Hoth Leia despite the lipstick being so obnoxious.
Out of all the Premium Elite series,this figure seems to be the best,no QC issues,no weird proportions and has the best likeness.
I don't have the latest batch yet, but yes... this one and Rey are easily my favorites.
Brilliant sculpt--If they would have just made the hair with one bun on each side like the movie it would have been perfect.
I *think* the multiple hair buns is film accurate based on what I've seen. Even the Hot Toys version has them like that. I think the issue is with the rooted hair they just project too much due to the extra volume. Sculpted would have been the best approach, but overall I don't think it's too bad. Thanks for watching!

She's stunning, isn't she? I'm so happy about this figure. In fact, this line has made me quite happy in ways Hasbro just hasn't been able to do lately what with their lack of quality offerings, high prices, and distribution issues. You can walk into any Disney Store and pick one of these up right now. Hasbro really could learn a lot from the way Disney Store is doing things. Thank you, Steve!
Boiling water on that skinny blaster, straighten it, then run under cold water water. Works for so many warped out of the package accessories .

Both Leia and Vader are AMAZING Figures! I agree, baring Hot Toys or Sideshow, There isn't a 12" scale Leia or Vader figure that can compare to these for Under $200. I just picked up 3 of the Leias and 3 Vaders for $20 ea. because the Disney Store has them on Sale. One Leia is for Mom for Christmas, and One Vader is for a Friend. then I have one of each to open & display, and one of each to keep in the box, because they even look great in box. I lucked out with the Leias, because evidently they have realized the issue with the 4 Buns, 2 on each side of her head, and they have started wrapping them much closer to the Iconic hairstyle from A New Hope. I also noticed that they have changed the inside Packaging on one of the 3 Leias I picked up. 2 of them had a plastic tray running the length of the Blaster Pistol in her hand, which was causing the Pistol to Warp. the Newer one (I assume) has a shorter tray that just goes under her hand, and a plastic Tab with a hole in it, like the ones used to hold Vader's Ignited Saber in the box, that now holds the end of her Blaster without warping it.

I know, it's a terrible figure. One that Hasbro assured me at Comic Con would look better on the final release. Sadly it wasn't true!

Not bad, here in Canada Black Series are $30 so for $15 more you get this. I used to own the sideshow Leia and the fabric might even be better on this.
I'm getting the Hot Toys version for Christmas, so it'll be interesting to compare them! From what I've seen in videos it seems like that one's dress wrinkles easily. This one doesn't.

No question. However, living NO less then 90 miles from any TRU and/or Disney Store, i gotta ask. *Can you buy these figures from your local DS shop over the phone, possibly?* (doubtful, I know lol) *Or buy these online at a Disney Store e-tail site? (couldt find the listing) OR.. is it direct to consumer, buy inside store ONLY?* Ugh hope not. BTW, Disney Store freakn' NAILED her likeness! You can get them online. Just type in Star Wars Elite Series. They have all four of the ones that have been released so far. My friend Matt Brando posted his excellent Vader review today as well. I'll try and get mine up within the next few weeks. Thanks for watching!

I buy the 3.75" Black series but they just get tucked away bc they dont have enough presence or foothold, to display in my place. *edit.. that doesn't mean I don't want Hot Toys or Disney 11" tho*
I was able to get the 2 plastic ties in the head out with cuticle nail clippers without messing up the hair. One of them completely off and the other too short to see.

her likeness is amazing, though her buns bug me and her outfit is so bulky, but I guess its understandable, considering that at this scale, making outfits look flowing and not weird on figures is hard. There was a d23 princess leia doll, thats so gorgeous and I want so bad, but shes super expensive and you can really only find her on ebay...

Thank you! The buns are a little problematic. I think sculpted would have been the best approach. I don't think the outfit is too baggy though. It drapes very nicely around her body, and they did a good job engineering the hood. Even the Hot Toys hood doesn't drape as nicely at her back.
What's up Victoria my gripe is the hair.In time her hair will turn into a mess , Me personally I wud leave her inbox and I am an inbox and out of box collector but I would leave her inbox even the black series one I would not open I can see after a while if she falls a few times her dress will definitely get stained up.Great review
Thanks! I'm not too worried about the hair or her dress getting dirty. Perhaps if it was a child or someone who was less careful it could be an issue, but personally I don't foresee any problems.

I've since gone to a Disney Store, I found Darth Vader, but Princess Leia was sold out.
Guess I'll have to try the Disney Store website.

Victoria's Cantina hahahahaaa...that left eye is a little wonky ...but her face is definitely a improvement from the black series one looks more like Leia ...I'm not even gonna say what the black series one looks like let's just say it's not as well done as this one ....but the eye just a little off ..

Now that I finally have one, I noticed that my sample has kinda weak ankles, and she has a tendency to fall over , if I don't bend her knees slightly.
Did yours ever have any problems standing Victoria ?

I know that there was altered versions of all four of these, (Princesa Leia in Hoth Gear, Darth Vader (TESB) Rey (Resistance outfit) and Kylo Ren unmasked) but they were D23 exclusives Nd never released at the Disney Store as single releases.

Now here is the creep question, but im being serious (as much as I possibly can be)...does she have any kind of sculpted/softgood covering under the shirt, or is it bare? Youre right about the likeness being closer to RotJ Leia, and I bet this would make a fun slave Leia custom for people who are into making or sewing custom 1/6 costumes. I am tempted to pick it up myself and sculpt on the hair bun style.
I think I'd need to snip the plastic tie keeping the belt together in order to check, but my guess would be that there's nothing underneath..... you perv.

Too bad those hair buns are so big. Is there any way to make the hair buns smaller, like remove one layer on each side? I have this figure too, but don't want to ruin it.

As an artist, I can tell you that this is one of the best Princess Leia figures ever produced, whether as a statue or action figure. I did a complete face repaint of mine and was able to produce a spot-on likeness of Carrie Fisher as New Hope Leia!

Is she plastic or metal like the smaller Elite figures?
ianA she's made out of plastic.
All of the 10-11" scale figures are plastic with rooted hair and a combination of soft goods and plastic clothing.
Victoria's Cantina Gotcha, thank you! That definitely makes them winners to me, I didn't prefer that the other smaller Elites were metal.
ianA Me neither. The paint seems to transfer less ideally to die cast than to plastic, and the likenesses just weren't that great on many of last year's figures. The new Rogue One figures look decent though. The articulation also can be very stiff on them. I have Rey and Vader since I'm a big fan of both characters but I wouldn't buy any of the others at this point.
Victoria's Cantina Good to know, I kind of figured that would be the case. I was also worried that little parts like lightsabers and guns will break easily because of thin areas in the metal, or even fingers of the characters.
Best likeness to Leia I have seen spot on that is young Carrie Fisher, love it :-)

Ian Bowden The only other doll that compares to this one is the 1977 Leia doll. That likeness is amazing. I prefer this dolls face for its pensive expression.

Victoria's Cantina That's actually a great idea. Selling a set of resculpted and repainted heads with special attention to detail and extra care taken. There are a few black series figures I enjoy, but have sloppy heads. I wouldn't mind paying to improve them.
why can't Hasbro make quality like these ?
they used to but passed the rights onto sideshow and hot toys after revenge of the sith

I think Hasbro needs to outsource their human figures to a capable third
party company. It's clear that they struggle greatly with human
characters. Even when the sculpts are good they ruin them with awful
paint apps.
So her feet are the shoes and they won't come off

the hot toys version is by far the best which I own. I might get this one and do something with those buns not look like two piles of dog poo on the sides of the head
