Nice. Maybe the tidy coffee puck is because the 1.7mm puck screen is pressing up against the shower screen thus keeping the coffee puck squished firmly down? ... Also if you like, you could try a bit less coffee when using the thick puck screen. I saw that idea on a forum. Cheers
Thanks! Good advice and good video. I decided to buy a Normcore ultra thin puck screen. I have a Barista Express and often have some holes in the top of my puck from poor showerhead behavior (even after cleaning and everything) and particularly now that I'm using the manual preinfusion function on the Barista. So, I'm hoping this will help maintain the integrity of the puck while brewing. The screen is black in stead of stainless, I would have preferred stainless, but I'm sure it's just stainless with a black anodized coloring. Does anyone happen to know for sure what the material is? 😎
Thanks! Glad it could help. Yes it should help distribute the water a little better and keep the shower head clean (main reason I have one). Don’t expect any difference in the cup though haha. My thought is anodized stainless too.
